Saigon - HoChiMinh City is one of the most beautiful and modern cities in South East Asia ! but if you live in when the rain season the water is up to your belly, the drinking water is polluted, the hospitals are for death,... live in for experience.
It's a good video about Saigon but if ones travel to the countryside you will see a huge contrast between rich and poor. Only a handful of rich 'corrupted officials' in VN, whereas the rest is struggling for basics, even basic human rights. The number of highrises in Saigon is proportionally with the number of beggars and hawkers.

does anyone have a knowledge of the updated status of Financial tower in saigon? I know that tower is going to be the tallest building in saigon, which it stands at 67 or more stories, and its designed structure is vietnamese traditional lotus flower.
Financial 68 stories is being built very fast . It's current height now is 102meters ~ 30 stories . It's gonna top out in October 10th 2010 with the tallest height up to 263mters.
I cant wait for most of the construction to be completed . I am planning to head back in maybe 2011 ! Last visit the HCM airport was totally different from previous and its will continue to change and expand.
Tan Son Nhat will no longer a biggest airport in vietnam. they are building a bigger new airport near my local village in the province of Dong Nai, and it will be the biggest international airport of Vietnam

It's a good video about Saigon but if ones travel to the countryside you will see a huge contrast between rich and poor. Only a handful of rich 'corrupted officials' in VN, whereas the rest is struggling for basics, even basic human rights. The number of highrises in Saigon is proportionally with the number of beggars and hawkers.

btw I am Saigonese too and although I love my city, it still needs a lot of works :< , a decent Metro system (like the one in Japan), then more investment is desperated needed in infrastructure (sewage, clean water supply, road, etc), pollution, etc :(

Thanks for nice video, but I think now Sai Gon - HCMC needs to do many things to become modern cities in South East Asia. I hope in next 15 years to ensure that :), of course it's better if it becomes true sooner

does anyone have a knowledge of the updated status of Financial tower in saigon? I know that tower is going to be the tallest building in saigon, which it stands at 67 or more stories, and its designed structure is vietnamese traditional lotus flower.

Financial 68 stories is being built very fast . It's current height now is 102meters ~ 30 stories . It's gonna top out in October 10th 2010 with the tallest height up to 263mters.

I cant wait for most of the construction to be completed . I am planning to head back in maybe 2011 ! Last visit the HCM airport was totally different from previous and its will continue to change and expand.

Tan Son Nhat will no longer a biggest airport in vietnam. they are building a bigger new airport near my local village in the province of Dong Nai, and it will be the biggest international airport of Vietnam

Singapore skyline is impressive but the land is tiny imagine if 15 years ago Vietnam focus economy to only on one city like bankok, singapore, manila or 5 years from now combine all the large cities in vietnam together...singapore, bankok, manila is no where close to its size

It might not be "impressive" to u but consider that I have came back to VN like 4 times . Each visit I witness many constructions and improvement in infrastructure. VN was a war torn nation ,so give it a rest please.
