  • My mother in law ALWAYS tells me how damaged my hair is cuz she says i "blow dry it too much" but i have never ever used a blow dryer on my hair its just naturally really kinky and coarse and apparently shes never seen anyone with my type hair b4...she annoys me to death about it but i just shrug an say ill deep condition! Lol

  • I apologize in advance but I believe it does matter what products you use. If you are using a shampoo that contains no sulfate, you will feel a major difference than when you wash your hair with a sulfate shampoo. Almost all shampoos have sulfate in it. Try to stay away from that.

  • @beneathyourlove I've tried sulfate free shampoos. See my review on that, if you wish.

  • are messy buns bad? because i do them like every day kind in the place of heat

  • @Thinkpink1741 Not really, as long as you are not teasing your hair much.

  • I only use heat like.. once a year and yeah I wait a week between washings. Clear shampoos when I do need it. After time I haven't been having issues with getting too oily or with things like dandruff. I like using olive oil for conditioner, (not virgin oil) it works better I find.

  • love how real you are!!! i approve. :)

  • two words: hair envy

  • do a co-wash! 1st brush your hair & loosen up the dirty & oil by massaging the scalp & rinse your hair under cool water, then take a thin conditioner & massage into your scalp, keep it in your hair for 5 minutes & rinse w/ cool water & detangle with your fingers. deep condition your hair once a week with coconut oil & wash with baby shampoo =] your hair will THANK YOU!!

  • Thank u so much for all this advice,, I'm 22,, been growing my hair for about 2yrs now,, I'd say almost as long as u have it in this video,, and I'm trying so hard to not cut it because I love having my long hair,, but so hard to keep it healthy. Your videos are amazing,, and thanks to your wonderful hair tutorials I'm not going to cut it :D LoL.

  • What do you recommend for really thin hair? If I don't blow dry it I have zero volume & it looks really flat. I'd love to give up blow drying it if there's an alternative...

  • Do you have advice for permed hair? Like what to use and how to take care of it?

  • @hypereactiveGBU15 Use a deep conditioner 1-2 times a week. Get it trimmed more often, since the ends dry up faster. Don't blow dry it much.

  • You are absolutely right! The daily diet is really important for changing hair from inside. I get good hair originally from my parents. But It becomes bad, at least are not as good as it should be. Thank for your suggestion about treatment etc. I learn from you, and I believe my beautiful hair will come back if I follow your tips. :)

  • Another thing that i know helps with shiny hair is rising your hair will cold or cool water. You may already know this, but i know that it does really help. I'm not totally sure why this works, although i think it is because the cool water seals the cuticle after conditioning and keeps more nutrients in your hair, versus using warm water that open cuticles. Thought this is just a theory. It does in fact help though(:

  • that must be why people brushed their hair so much in the old days when they didn't wash every day.

  • I think the reaction of salt water in hair was really good. It became really light, bouncy, shiny and moves to air.

  • SHAVE IT OFF! ur too obssesed with it.

  • Dry shampoo works good to if you dont wanna wash your hair everyday.

  • have you experienced hair loss? i used to have a very thick hair but is experiencing hair loss more than the usual. as in like everytime i comb through my hair with my fingers, there are pieces that falls.. kinda getting panicky already.. do u have any idea on what the probable causes for this are?

  • more vids please ur amazing and gorgeous

  • CONTINUED****

My hair is long fine ur right embrace ur own hair took yrs for me to get that point. My hair has been colored a lot but I still keep it looking healthy. MY BIGGEST ISSUE IS MY HAIR IS BLEACHED OUT & I WOULD LOVE TO STOP MAKING HAIR LIGHTER THAN IT IS BUT THIS IS A BAD THING TO START & NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO CORRECT..ANY IDEAS ON HOW TO GET THROUGH THIS??? Your mom was So Beautiful & ur dad handsome. I love the videos of them..thank you for sharing that with us!

  • Don't think ur gross at all, think it's wise to use what u have to keep ur hair healthy including ur own oils. Ur hair is Gorgeous & no can't see the hair color diff. on camera. I'm going to share this site w/my daughter her hair gets Very oily she's growing it out for locks of love so trying to keep it as healthy as possible. She wants to have enough to share & enough to keep hair long after it's cut. Fantastic points here. CONTINUED******* SORRY

  • Well obviously... Its light that makes hair shine in the first place, light reflecting off the hair! Its not going to be shiny in the dark! You have suuch beautiful hair!!

  • Which is grosser: putting nasty chemical cocktails to make your hair shiny or using your natural oils to make your hair shiny? I don't think you're gross.

  • My hair is thin and pin straight I can't curl my hair. but I don't look that great with curly hair anyway. I love my hair anyway. I get compliments all the time at school like do you straighten our hair? I say no and they are like woah! so lucky and soooo soft!!

  • What would you suggest for very dry scalp & over frizzed ends? TY & <3 ur videos! been a fan for some years now! :)

  • @maymay198423 Dry scalp shampoo once a week, plenty of rest and exercise for stress, healthy diet, and trim your frizzed ends.

  • When you sleep do you tie up your hair or let it down, I feel really guilty when I sleep and let my hair down, although it's the most comfortable it's probably snagging and pulling my hair :/

  • @aliahaliah I sleep with it in a low, loose pony tail

  • So does it really matter if you use $1 shampoo or $10 natural/organic shampoo? Natural shampoo is actually making my hair frizzier & I don't see a good difference. But when I use vo5.....I LOVE MY HAIR! but I hear it's bad. so idk. :/

  • @EyeoftheWhiteWolf I would keep using the VO5 if that's the case!

  • For the excess oil when you rinse your hair to get rid of the oil you can use baking soda, it will suck up some of the oil without over drying it. Also if you want to remove oil without a wash you could use corn starch, just put a bit in the scalp and brush it out.

  • Not sure if this has been addressed here, but I am looking to buy a new flat iron. My Chi has died after 7 years. I am Hispanic with long waist-length thick, coarse, wavy hair, any suggestions?

  • i have very healthy, shiny hair and I don't use special products either. I've even colored it before and hairdressers say it doesn't feel like colored hair. The most important thing is not to use heat styling, or to minimize it. On that point you are very accurate. Heat styling is what damages hair the most. I also stick within two shades of my natural hair color when coloring. I wash it every 2 or 3 days.

  • Thanks so much for this video.....you have given me so much tips as well as dos and donts to keep my hair natural.

  • Your parents are so cute!

  • I have long, thick hair and I can also go up to a week without washing it. For the last couple of days I just pull it back into a pony tail. My scalp will get a little oily, but the length of my hair looks great. When I wash it I typically use a lot of shampoo, but I'm curious how it will affect my hair if I use less (like you said in your video). I'm going to try it out!

  • Thanks for telling us how you manage to keep gorgeous hair. Please do not feel like you have to defend the beauty of your hair to anyone. You're right, we can all do things to take better care of our own. Keep up the great work!

  • We seem to have the exact hair routine. I'm glad to hear I am taking care of it properly.

  • You really do resemble SELENA! I am from South Texas and I loved her music. You may have been told that before =)...I am new here and I love your videos =)

  • My hair is thick, curly and I CAN'T wash it more than once a week or it will dry out, It's hard to tell it's dirty though, thanks to the curls. I fully embrace my curls now but up until a few years ago I was still straightening my hair /every day/ &even though I was being careful &using protectant, it's true that all that adds up & once I went natural, my hair did get stronger. So I appreciate what you say at the end of this, as it's completely true and I'm so glad I realized that :)

  • Ever since I was born I have been washing my hair one a week my mom has the same hair type and I guess whatever her hairstylist told her she imposed on me, but yet I still have dry hair that is prone to breakage *le sigh*. But it doesn't oily and unmanageable.

  • I have very dry and curly hair. If I would wait 1 week to shampoo again, my hair would get frizzy and absolutely unmanageable :(

  • So I realized I've been doing all the wrong things with my hair. However this motivates me to take better care of it.

  • Hi, I love you're tutorials because we have similar hair and its so hard to find creative tutorials on hair styles for long thick hair. I recently bought a triple barrow deep waver because of a tutorial you posted a while ago; I loved the way it had a sort of old hollywood look....its not in you're videos anymore, do you think you could please upload it again? I would really appreciate it, thank you!

  • Wow, you do almost EXACTLY the same thing I do. I think we have the same hair type, length and color. My shampoo and conditioner is different tho. I use Keratin Care shampoo/conditioner. I also use Keratin Therapy conditioning treatment from Sally's.

My favorite product is Keratin Infusion. That is the best stuff ( a bit pricey), but good.

  • your hair is so pretty :D i want my hair to grow, im going to do all the things u say in you videos, which are great videos. i wont put heat in it for a whole year. i just want it to grow like yours. thx for your tips :D

  • Thank you for the tips, like my grandmother always says, there is no product for beautiful hair, it's the amount of care you put into it ;)

  • I don't use shit Like that and my hair is so black and long and shinny, I SIMPLY DON'T wash my hair everyday

    THATS ALL!!!

  • I know you said it doesn't make a difference what products you use on your hair, but for me it really does. A bad shampoo can really make my hair a nightmere to work with. I love Aussie 3 minute miracle and the Suave Professionals line. Leave in Conditioner helps me too. Your hair is beautiful and I lvoe your styles! My hair is about the same length or a little longer than yours.

  • @kute1livn4jc I was saying for me, products don't make a difference. The context was how I respond to people when they ask. Just wanted to clarify.

  • @ilovegerardo Thanks, Iris! Love watching your videos. You're the best!

  • i don't think its nasty, because women used to wash there hair a specific day of the week :)

  • Omg, what are you talking about? Your hair is still as shiny without the lights! :P Ive notice my Latino family has thick hair & plus we are hairy! I hate the hairiness since I'm a girl, I have to nair almost of my body! Thank you for the tips, I always love your videos! :)

  • omg my favorite comment in your vid...the longer you go with your natural hair the more smoother it will become.....sooo true!! There is hope and I'm excited about all these great tips :)

  • What is the purpose of not washing your hair for one week straight? I wash my hair every other day. Is that too often? I have similar hair to you..long, thick, and a lot of it.

  • Aha! I knew there was something in that! My hair is not as beautifully healthy looking as yours but I find if I stick with 1 shampoo and conditioner for a long time, it starts loosing all its luster and going dull. As soon as I change products it's good again - but no matter how good it is to begin with on the new stuff, it will still start going dull if I use the same 1 too long. It's like hair gets board of the same stuff all the time LOL. Great videos and lovely hair. Thanks for the tips xx

  • LOL. You turned off the lights and your hair was still shiny! xD

I don't want to dye my hair because i damage it a lot (always going for colors that are hard to get) but i have too because i get white hairs, a lot! Sounds gross/weird whatever but i do and i am barely going to turn 18.

  • I love ur hair & thank u for the tips :) my hair is wavy, it used to be curly but now since it's long & I straighten it a lot, it turned wavy. How can I stay away from washing my hair if I have to use mousse or hairspray to keep it from getting frizzy? That's why I usually wash it everyday because the hairspray from the previous day makes it look dirty. I really would like to stay get nice healthy hair but nothing else seems to work on my had other than mousse or gel & hairspray :(

    Thanks aga

  • No matter what I do, when I get out of the shower, my hair is tangly. No idea why. My hair isn't overly thick.

  • @smilesarelove111 What kind of conditioner do you use?

  • @ilovegerardo I use different ones. Dove, Silk Elements, Garnier Fructise, Herbal Essence, etc. I've always had tangly hair. I use the Joico detangler, and it works fairly well!

  • Girl, you look like that chick from True Blood-- the one Sam is seeing. Anyone else see it?

  • Wow you really do quite some stuff or not do to your hair!

  • it is good to be able to see such well maintained hair as proof behind your methods. I hear so many different things and its incredibly frustrating! i just want my healthy hair back!

  • Thank u for all the useful information. I live in an island, surronded by the salty sea...so - at this time of the year - its impossible to go one week without hair wash. Actually I was it everyday, coz after swimming in the salty water...

Just one think, I mention at around 7:20, that u just wash it with warm water. I think a bit colder works better - depens of course how warm.

    Ou, Fabregas just scored..viva barca

  • Thanks for all of your advice. I am in the military and have to wear my hair up every day. My hair was so healthy before the military and after three years of putting loads of gel in it, I started feeling and seeing the difference. It was so depressing. I deployed for seven months and had a friend send me redken products, and used Matrix gels and other pretty good products which seemed to help alot better than that three dollar walmart crap. I just watched your video and appreciate your input...

  • Actually, I've heard it's not really necessary to wash your hair EVERY day.

  • Thank you! you are right... yea, you have "thick hair" genes, but NO hair is going to look as beautiful as yours if you dont take care of it. I have very thin, wavy hair. its easy for me to handle, and for that i am thankful... but i still love watching your channel for tips and styling ideas. You make it adaptable for all hair types. i think i will start skipping wash days, like you mentioned. my hair is too thin to wait a week... but skipping a day wont hurt anything.

  • Hi Iris, thank you for this updated video on your hair care tips. I wanted to start washing my hair less but have only been able to get away with every other day because I didn’t know what to do when I go to the gym so I just washed it. I liked hearing about what you do on gym days and will try it out.

  • @ProductJunkie2011 Just risen it! Possibly a little conditioner! It was kind of hard for me to to get use to simply rinsing it after working out, but if you think about it your hair isn't actually dirty its just sweaty.

  • You are so real. I love that.

  • you should try velcro rollers. they are great!

  • Omg if I try curl my hair like that it looks dry, dead and frizzy lol.

  • your hair looks shorter than usual. did you cut it or something?

  • I do EVERY single thing you said in the video. And I can promise, it does help. It's not just genes and predispositions. I used to have really oily and damaged hair and now it got way better, it can last more days without washing... So I agree with you Iris, genes are a small part, but taking care of your hair is also essential!

  • OMG Iris, thanks a lot!! This was sooooooooo helpful cos lately I've been feeling bad about my hair and now I know how to care for it

  • My mom has thick long beautiful hair....but I got my dads thin, fine, flat pin straight hair -_-

  • Its genetics and your ethnic background. She's a beautiful Mexicana. I'm Hispanic and I have my grandmothers hair not my moms who's just like hers so do what I do extensions LOL :) but it is very pretty :)

  • @MyJuicyBeauty1 I addressed this type of comment in the first 2 minutes of this video :)

  • @MyJuicyBeauty1 Hm, but I'm made in Germany, and I have hair similar to Iris. In the past when I wasn't treating my hair carefully, it looked frizzy and dry and never grew past shoulders length. Now it's mid back length and healthy. I'm not saying you can turn fine strands into a huge massive head of hair. But at least into silky fine strands. And vice versa you can turn frizzy curls into waves, etc. With a bit of patience and tenderness, everyone can make much more of their natural hair.

  • i definitely embrace my "overlycurly" hair texture! i use to hate it as a teenager but now i just adore it!! i have lost alot of hair especially after having my son! (9yrs ago) and it wouldnt grow but i started taking care of it (just like u mentioned in the video) taking care of ones hair definitely works! and i didnt do anything over the top! i just conditined it more often and although i dont have my "mufasa" hair i once had back in high school, i do love my hair!

  • cowash your hair. cowash= wash with conditioner only. please like this so she can see it.

  • I have a question..I have EXTREMELY curly hair but through out the years i've been ironing it and its not as curly. I usually iron my hair once s week or once every 2weeks my ends are dead and fall out what can i do?i feel my hair super fragile

  • @mami2freshh If I had curly hair, I would only iron my hair up to 10 times a year, if that. I can't tell you what to do, but I know that curly hair needs MORE TLC than other types. That's why I say that. I would try my best to work with what I have been given (curly hair) and nurture that. <3 Hope that answers your question.

  • @mami2freshh i have EXTREMELY CURLY hair. i use to flat iron my too and my curls did start to become limp and less curly... i trimmed my ends, and do deep conditioners once a week. your curls will come back if you use protein/keratin treatments.also, i only use shampoo once a week (if that)..i do rinse my hair really good 2-3 times a week and condition it. i dont use gel or mousse or anything like that so it doenst get bulid up. but i do use mixed chicks leave in conditioner. & use aragon oil!!

  • I was wondering if it's damaging to the hair if you wear it in a ponytail or bun everyday? I never wear it down unless I'm going somewhere a bit fancier or after my shower because I get annoyed easily by hair in my face. Thanks!

  • @ElegantCleopatra It's damaging to put your hair in a pony tail often because you snag your hair when you take the pony tail holder off. Also, when you tighten your hair into a pony tail, you pull the hair nearly out of the root. So, you have more hair fall out. Just be careful when you put it up in a pony tail if you want to prevent these things.

  • @ilovegerardo Also, be careful you use the hairties without the metal parts in it. They tend to break your hair.

  • LOL your hair is still super shiny with the lights off ahaha :D

  • I also have thick long dark hair I could wait a week to washed but the 3rd day smell already uffff hate it….plus my hubby is very sensitive about smells

  • Did you edit this video to make yur hair more shiney?? :/

  • @aniisha26 she said its the lights that make her hair look ultra shiny

  • My hair is so incredibly thin...it's like 1/16th of yours. I'm so jealous...:(

  • Word! I have been treating my hair like you for over a year now, no coloring, always using heat protectant...and my hair has never felt healthier. It's naturally coarse, so obviously it will never look like yours if I let it air dry. Everybody has to find out how to get their hair as healthy as possible. This doesn't mean that everyone will achieve the same results. Achieve the best for your hair, not someone else's;o)

  • hi iris i have a question, you said that sometimes you only rinse and condition (no shampoo) if needed, but why do you do that??how does it help? thanks!

  • @xshupau Just to rinse out the sweat or dirt, if it feels too dirty. :)

  • oh my gooooooooooooooooood i love your hair!

  • Sometimes I get good comments on my hair too. One thing that really helped to get my hair healthy is to never use a brush. When I put conditioner on, I usually comb my fingers through my hair then rinse it out. Then after when I get out my hair usually is tangle free. I used to brush my hair a lot and I always found when my hair would get long my ends would be all dead and split, after doing this, my hair is growing really fast and looks really healthy

  • @firedmotion That's a wonderful tip!

  • @firedmotion I do the same thing!

  • @firedmotion Wow, that could explain why my ends have been splitting a lot. I started brushing it once it got closer to bra strap length and then all of a sudden split ends all the time. I'm going to go brush-free and see how it goes. Thank you!

  • i remember in an older video you mentioned that your sister has thin hair....but both your parents have thick hair...crazy how genetics work

  • @TheChum1981 I have a mix of my parents' hair thick and wavy, my brother has a mix too, but has no wave to his har, my sister has my mom's hair and a little more fine than my mom's, my youngest brother has curly, coarse hair like my dad :) Yes it is crazy.

  • i'm black and my hair is pretty healthy, long, thick and shiny...i do just about everything you said!

  • Over washing and over conditioning actually strips your hair of natural oils and makes it look like you never condition it. I always wash my hair every week and if excess oil builds up I use a dry shampoo or pin it up. Keep doing what your doing girl because it works!!!!

  • Love all the great tips. Thanks!!

  • Your hair still looks shiny in the dark ^.^ VERY SHINY ! Great tips tho ! im trying to really grow out my hair & these tips will deffenetly help me . THUMBS UP & FAVORITE ;)

  • Hey Iris, one thing I learned from online long hair board is "scalp washing". One secures the length of one's hair in something waterproof like a plastic bag and just scrubs the scalp. It's great for those that exercise or have a need to wash often because of hygiene or other reasons.

  • Yes! Washing hair once a week is definitely the way to go. The scalp will adjust. It just takes time. I STILL covet your hair, though. :-)

  • @jonimontana5 Amen to that! My hair is super curly and I learned to love it

  • Mmmm I love that Herbal Essence scent. I have the leave in and it smells amazing

  • Great tips Iris!! Your hair is gorgeous!

  • How do you put your hair for running? I have thick hair like ours and sometimes I am at a loss on how to avoid headaches. Thank you!

  • @Fabieisthebest I put it in a low braid, tied at the top and bottom of the braid and I wear a basebal cap.

  • Work with what you have! The best advice you have ever given! Once I stopped fighting my naturally curly hair, I started doing a lot of research on the best way to treat it and style it, and now I'm good with my hair! Lol

  • My hear is falling a lot!! i would like to know what product or what should i do for keep it in my head?? hahahhaa thanks! :D

  • Doesn't the fact that your healthy really make a big difference in how it looks?? I have a friend who has hair like yours but shes a natural light blonde, shes planning to sell her hair for wigs and its beautiful!

  • You could just use conditioner to clean your scalp with the pads of your fingers.

  • my hair is similar to yours (yours may be more beautiful i cant judge my own hair!) and i have always washed it only once a week instead for very special occasions. do lots of sports, too (no swimming though). rare shampooing, confirmed by man favorite hairdressers, is the best for having thick healthy hair. and little heat as you say. i blowdry once a week though.. love the look

  • I have black, thick hair as well. I always wash my hair in the morning, put in some leave in conditioner, and let it air dry throughout the day. :] My hair has become so much healthier by just letting it air dry.

  • I second that! Rarely do I use heat on my hair, unless I'm making a video...probably 4 times a month do I actually use heat to style, like you. :)

  • Great Video! You AND your hair are gorgeous!

  • I noticed that if I let my hair get oilyish too its health is improving much better than if i apply store bought oils

  • Very helpful tips! I am looking foward to trying them out and taking more care of my long thin hair! :)

  • A lot of girls don't wash their hair more than once a week (especially black/mixed girls/hispanic girls w/ coarser hair/etc.) because our hair is usually naturally dry so if we wash our hair that often it's gonna get dry and damaged. Since I workout a lot I have to wash my hair, like, every other day and I'll wash it w/ conditioner on my workout days and only use shampoo once a week.

  • Hi, I grow my hair in the past few years and right now I have long healthy hair and I like to keep it this ways, I am very scare if it get damage, so when I go to work I am thinking is't safe every day I put my hair up or leave it down, which's way is the best to keep my hair from damage? please answer. thanks for this nice video.

  • I love the fact that you've always got a positive message in your videos, its nice to see...I love the cute little setup in this one, by the way ^-^ the little lights are fun, haha. Festive :D

  • if i let my hair get dirty, it starts falling out sooooo much!

  • HOW can you wait a WHOLE week, I mean that in a non judgemental way, it's cool for your hair and not that gross, but wow I could never do that, and I have oily hair as well.

  • It's not that gross that you wait a week to wash your hair. I've washed it every 4-5 days all my life and all the hair dressers I've been to said it's a good thing to not strip away your hair natural oils off it every day. Cheers for your videos. Your tutorials are great and I always look forward to the next one.

  • You are so beautiful, i am so jealous of your beauty you cant even imagine :) xxxx

  • You are soo beautiful, i am so jealous of your beauty you cant even imagine :) xxxx

  • You are so so so beautiful, i am so jealous of your beauty you cant even imagine :) xxxx

  • You are so so so beautifull, i am so jealous of your beauty you cant even imagine :) xxxx

  • I'm officially in love with your hair <3

  • Thank you for stating one and for all that the secret is NOT in the products :))

  • To continue: Women here in Europe don't wash their hair in the mass numbers daily and still we are not dirrty and walk around with gross hair.. I too wash my hair once -twice a week and my hair is like yours, very long, shiny and thick, non damaged... It's like with skin, you cant expect great skin if you scrub and rub harshly every morning and evening, and expect to have amazing skin, everything we do, even(!) washing is very damaging to our hair...

  • I can't understand why people, especially women in the USA find not washing your hair everyday gross.. It maybe is gross if you DO wash your hair everyday and it GETS gross tomorrow, not to mention how damaging washing daily is to your hair... If you train your hair to last longer it WON'T get greasy the next day ! It will get greasy in a few days of even a week, in the meantime you will have hair like freshly washed, no grease... it takes some time to train the hair though..

  • I have a lot of splitt ends in my hair but I trim my hair every 6 to 8 weeks, but after 2 days the splitt ends are back. I don't use heath my hair, I don't colour it. I only wash it up to twice a week. I'm a vegetarian, I eat a lot of fruit and vegetables. My hair started to splitt a few months back. So what do you think it could be? Can hair splitt faster if you are under a lot of stress ? I really hope you'll answer, I don't know what to do!!!

  • Have you ever tried CO (conditioner only) washing? That would allow you to wash every two days (or more often) but without the drying effect of shampoo. Google it, it's well worth a look. Just make sure you research it before you try it; you use it in a different way to shampoo, but it gets your hair clean and shiny nonetheless. :)

  • Hi Iris

I have a lot of splitt ends in my hair but I trim my hair every 6 to 8 weeks, but after 2 days the splitt ends are back.

  • Don't worry Iris! I'll be gross with you! I don't have the time or the energy to wash my hair every second day. I was it once a week. I brush it daily and my hair has never looked better! I'll wash it for special occasions too but mostly on Saturday mornings. I'm blonde and I get complimented on how shiny my hair is. I used to think you brunettes had it made (dark hair =shiny) but it's all about the way you treat it!

  • when I shampoo it feels terrible again, i cant even put my fingers through it.

GIRLS, BE NICE TO YOUR HAIR.

I cut my hair, I'm growing it out, I trim it every waxing crescent moon, I try not to wash it as much, I condition it. in like three months all that damaged part will be gone! It'll be to my shoulders but i'll follow your steps so it grows long again.

Anyways, that coco-oil works great 4 me but they say if u use oil+hot tools it burns it even more, no matter the softness and shine ugt@1st

  • Iris and to everyone watching: I bought this coconut oil for 5$ at walmart and it really makes my hair smooth and shiny, plus I love the coconut smell.

it's for styling but it also works if you wear your hair naturally.

Well for the past 2 years I been so bad to my hair, from extensions, hair dyes, bleach, dread locks, etc...after dying my bleached hair back to black, it feels really damaged and dry, and lost it's big curl-texture. this product brings it all back except...

  • what camera do you use? i think the setting you have it on makes the whole video cartoonish.. maybe thats why your hair looks so shiny? or maybe its my eyes.lol

anyway, i have done all the things you do for about a year but my hair still falls out A LOT and flakes are a huge problem. my hair was looking better when i was pregnant so i thought it was the vitamins so i kept taking them after my daughter was born but nope my hair sucks again.. can you HELP????

  • @janel1386 Try garnier fructis fall fight dandruff shampoo. It won't stop it from happening but it will happen less. There is a vitamin called skin hair and nails, basically it's a keratin supplement that may help too! I would also recommend not dying your hair for a while and washing less often. Hope it helps :)

  • I used to have thick thick hair, but because i recently went thro extreme stress + bad hair dye + a bad illness + fast weight loss my hair is like badly damaged, it's soft but not nearly as thick as before, so now im praying its like just from stress nothing more. Just out of frustration i cut it super short, to my shoulders so im hoping things will change, but i still love ur videos and once my hair grows back ill try out ur hair styles :) I still adore them tho! and still watching for sure!

  • Im the same 2 cond 1 shampoo

  • Great tips! Is your hair naturally straight, wavy or curly?

  • It still shines in the damn dark! Lol

  • ive heard that brushing your hair and putting it up a lot hurts your hair too..

  • @youdeadsucka Depends on how hard you are brushing it. I start from the bottom and work my way up. I also gently put it in a braid and tie it slowly. Just be careful and gentle. Like you would be careful with a pair of nylons...

  • @ilovegerardo I think also that brushing actually is good for your hair because it distributes oils evenly throughout the hair and improves the health...supposedly this is why dreadlocks are so bad for hair because the hair is never maintained and therefore it dies...it just DIES! Isnt that sad? ;-)

I learned that in a vintage styling book though so things might have changed since then...

  • Very good video.liked your honesty a lot. I dono if you know this. But I recently used aloevera on my hair for dandruff and did wonders! i put the aloe vera plant in the blender applied it on my scalp left it for few hours and jus rinsed it off. u can try this to get rid of the flakes:) i have a qn for you. heard that soaking hair in vinegar n lime juice for few mins after conditioning can make your hair softer n shinier.have ur tried it?i tried but u think it can damage my hair? xoxo

  • This was great! Thank you!!

  • You said you put your hair up a lot, and I understand why, but really what's the point of all this hair care if you're not going to show it off and wear it down more often? It's beautiful!

  • @mcrflyleafdisturbed Haha! I do show it off, for special occasions :) It's worth it. Besides, when I wear it up, people notice other things about me, like what I'm wearing or how I did my make up. ;) ya know?

  • @mcrflyleafdisturbed I forgot to mention, I wear it down Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, by Wednesday, it starts to look oily so that's when I wear it pinned at the top. The rest of it is loose. Thursday is super oily day so it's up in a pony tail. Friday, I wash it and wear it in a braid. It's not up a lot. ;)
