you can get a bass 6 neck from warmoth and put it on a regular guitar but you'll have to make the neck pocket a little bigger to accomodate it

A *real* Fender VI is a true bass guitar designed to be tuned E-A-D-G-B-E -- an octave lower than standard spanish tuning. I've had a couple and gave up on them. Best was a '63 w/ a slab fingerboard and clay dot markers that I let go waaay too cheap. Unlike so many of these sticks mine had no rattles or buzzes and played great all the way up. As soon as I get my time machine completed I'll go back and undo that deal!
