Really WT is techniques hand picked from many years of experience in the temple from the masters to create a style based on geometry and structure. The temples were housing and teaching rebels to fight their current government. Creating this story about a system made by a female was to make people over look the actuality of the system.

@lifemadeofrice He was a bandit king and yim Wing chun did defeat him and his gang so she didnt have to marry, but she was taught by ng mui who was the best boxer in shaolin temple, the shaolin where housing some of the rebelion against the emperors dynasty, they found this out went to the temple and almost killed every one ng mui escaped along with a few others and she re designed what she new so that she could teach common people in a short time to aid her in a rebellion against the dynasty.
These two young women have heart and passion, and have really put themselves out there by making this video. I appreciate their sincerity and their love of Wing Tsun.

"wing chun or tsun" does not exist in the chinese language written characters. westerners have to romanize the translation phonetically so you can translate the spelling however you want. wing chun and wing tsun could be pronounced the same. the written chinese characters literally mean "forever spring" or "eternal springtime". write wing chun on a piece of paper and show it to a chinese person and they would not have a clue what you were on about
When i practised, it was called wing tsun.. Some sifu told me that it wasn't the same. Wing Tsun is like Linux. Different masters etc. comes up with new things. Wing Chun is the original unchangable art (Like windows) :p
Everything changes over time. The "Original Wing Chun" didn't have long pole techniques, those were added later. Yip man himself changed the wooden dummy form. When somebody claims to teach the "Original Wing Chun" thats just ridiculous because he merely teaches what his Sifu taught him.
That is the alleged story to cover up the actual founders for safety reasons in the time of political strife. In fact, the name Yim Wing Chun is a code for the 'Secret Art of Siu Lam Wing Chun Hall', a training hall used by fighting monks of Siu Lam Temple where it originated from. The temple was destroyed and the monks fleed to practise their art in utmost secrecy. Hence, that story was created to throw off the authorities. Just a tip from a fellow Wing Chun practitioner.
The surviving monks of Wing Chun scattered and taught their art in secret, which Yip Man learnt from one of their lineages in China and moved to HK and taught there. The findings given are based on research done on branches of Wing Chun in China that later compiled in book form called "The Complete Wing Chun: The Definitive Guide to Wing Chun's History & Tradition" by Chu, Ritchie & Wu.
Although you didn't ask me, the last time I saw something about where wing chun really came from was an article in Inside Kung Fu, circa 2004 that I photocopied but can't find at this very moment.
This is correct. Everyone should know it's just a beautiful myth. From research, it was created by 2 men; Da jung and Ng Cheung, nicknamed 'Tan Sao Ng'. One was a general who worked with Shaolin Temple monks. There was never a woman who created a martial art. However if there was one, I'd be interested in seeing it.

I won't comment on the actual techniques shown, but historically speaking, Yim Wing Chun wasn't taught the long pole (luk dim boon gwun).
The long pole form wasn't added to the Wing Chun system until Leung Yee Tai collaborated with Wong Wah Po to exchange Wing Chun hand techniques for pole techniques. This was i think 2 generations before Yip Man, but i'm pretty sure the pole didnt stretch back to the origin of the art...

That is the alleged story to cover up the actual founders for safety reasons in the time of political strife. In fact, the name Yim Wing Chun is a code for the 'Secret Art of Siu Lam Wing Chun Hall', a training hall used by fighting monks of Siu Lam Temple where it originated from. The temple was destroyed and the monks fleed to practise their art in utmost secrecy. Hence, that story was created to throw off the authorities. Just a tip from a fellow Wing Chun practitioner.

The surviving monks of Wing Chun scattered and taught their art in secret, which Yip Man learnt from one of their lineages in China and moved to HK and taught there. The findings given are based on research done on branches of Wing Chun in China that later compiled in book form called "The Complete Wing Chun: The Definitive Guide to Wing Chun's History & Tradition" by Chu, Ritchie & Wu.

This is correct. Everyone should know it's just a beautiful myth. From research, it was created by 2 men; Da jung and Ng Cheung, nicknamed 'Tan Sao Ng'. One was a general who worked with Shaolin Temple monks. There was never a woman who created a martial art. However if there was one, I'd be interested in seeing it.

10/10 for effort. This Wing Chun Style is a little too flowery for my liking. Not sure how much of this is attributed to the fact that it is Leung Ting's Style of Wing Chun called Wing Tsun. But hey, this is a movie

I won't comment on the actual techniques shown, but historically speaking, Yim Wing Chun wasn't taught the long pole (luk dim boon gwun).
The long pole form wasn't added to the Wing Chun system until Leung Yee Tai collaborated with Wong Wah Po to exchange Wing Chun hand techniques for pole techniques. This was i think 2 generations before Yip Man, but i'm pretty sure the pole didnt stretch back to the origin of the art...

Its a legend and only a legend. This Legend is not about Wing Chun and defenetly not about Wing Tsun. Wing Tsun was invented 40 years ago by leung ting. Modern Wing Chun or Ving Tsun was invented by Yip Man round about 70 Years ago...
The Legend is more about White Crane Yong Chun!

According to the forms on the video, I believe is from Hong Kong Wing Chun. If you are a true seeker in Wing Chun KungFu, I urge to open your mind and seriously look into Guangzhou Wing Chun (from China Canton).

da story is not true, da form wing chun was formed by da lady named wing chun, she learned her own technique when an evil king of her time killed her family (i think)and wanted to take her away, den the lady said she wants to earn her freedom form da evil lord, so the lord challenged her to a fight. he gave her time to practice in laughter, then she learned mastered this technique from herself, and then defeated the lord, das how the story goes
