The defence proved how the window was in reach by climbing on bars covering the window below the 2nd story window which was offset so it wasn't in full view of the street. The shutters couldn't be fully close preventing them from being locked. At the first case the girl whose window was broken said the glass was "jumbled" in with the clothes meaning the while some glass was on top of some clothes it was also under the clothes.

Which would have preventing any break-ins. As for the kitchen window while we see it on ground level. With no information about the size to determine the ease of climbing in the window or rather like the lower window it was protect with iron bars it would be hard to know if it was a easier entrance

Look into it, the fact that it has been dismissed at the moment by decision doesnt mean that even the DNA evidence recollected doesnt exist anymore and cant be analyzed: analyze urself what exactly refer to, point by point, before saying there's no physical evidence at all of any kind
@lotorobly There were 2 main pieces of evidence that the prosecution focused on. The bra clasp and the knife. We both know the bra clasp was thrown out of court because it was found over four weeks later and was grossly cross contaminated. I must point out that there is no DNA profile of RS on the bar itself, but there is of Rudy. Also, the knife: No traces of blood found, and only the most tiny speck of DNA which was so small it was unable to be retested.
@graemeislord it's more complex, it's better reading the whole report, including the considerations exposed by prosecution about, and by italian scientific police. It's not just about the RS knife, nor the bra clasp. It's the whole picture of what they found on the scene and in that house, regarding DNA and prints. Includes the fact that Meredith blood in the bathroom was mixed with AK, include evidence picture of boken window etc-

@lotorobly The DNA may remain relevant to the case, but the fact is that it has been severly discredited and is in my opinion very unlikely to incriminate further. The lab by the way that performed the test of the knife was not sanctioned to do so. Low Copy DNA testing is a relatively new form of forensic testing and is not considered to be reliable, but that didn't matter in the end because the knife did not contain blood and the small DNA found was compatible with contamination
@lotorobly One More thing, one of the investigators remarked that the knife had some scrub marks on it, suggested it had been cleaned aggressively and with bleach. This is a complete contradiction. On one hand they are using the minute piece of DNA they have found to incriminate AK and on the other hand they are accusing them of cleaning it with bleach with would have removed ALL traces of evidence. They use bleach to clean laboritories for heavens sake! Things like that are a joke

The defence proved how the window was in reach by climbing on bars covering the window below the 2nd story window which was offset so it wasn't in full view of the street. The shutters couldn't be fully close preventing them from being locked. At the first case the girl whose window was broken said the glass was "jumbled" in with the clothes meaning the while some glass was on top of some clothes it was also under the clothes.

@doc1917 I saw the window you talk about. I believe its to the kitchen. The second story window had shutters made of wood and swelled up preventing it from shutting all the way and being locked. Which would have preventing any break-ins. As for the kitchen window while we see it on ground level. With no information about the size to determine the ease of climbing in the window or rather like the lower window it was protect with iron bars it would be hard to know if it was a easier entrance

Only Rudy knows the truth because quite simplyhe is the killer. He is the only person who despite his changing testimonies has admitted he was at the cottage when Meredith was murdered. He got his sentence halfed by taking a fast track trial and giving the cops what they wanted, the implication of AK & RS. He won't talk now because he is terrified his sentence will be increased (which it should be). If anybody knows it is him, but don't hold your breath for a true explaination from him

In regards to the judge, this may be true and I had not questioned that he was from the civil branch, it is the responsibility of the legal system to decide if somebody is competant to preside. Massei has proved he is not so competant. The key points of his report especially in regards to forensic evidence were exposed and questioned, and rightly so.

@lotorobly There were 2 main pieces of evidence that the prosecution focused on. The bra clasp and the knife. We both know the bra clasp was thrown out of court because it was found over four weeks later and was grossly cross contaminated. I must point out that there is no DNA profile of RS on the bar itself, but there is of Rudy. Also, the knife: No traces of blood found, and only the most tiny speck of DNA which was so small it was unable to be retested.

It's not just about the RS knife, nor the bra clasp. It's the whole picture of what they found on the scene and in that house, regarding DNA and prints. The lab by the way that performed the test of the knife was not sanctioned to do so. Low Copy DNA testing is a relatively new form of forensic testing and is not considered to be reliable, but that didn't matter in the end because the knife did not contain blood and the small DNA found was compatible with contamination

@lotorobly One More thing, one of the investigators remarked that the knife had some scrub marks on it, suggested it had been cleaned aggressively and with bleach. This is a complete contradiction. On one hand they are using the minute piece of DNA they have found to incriminate AK and on the other hand they are accusing them of cleaning it with bleach with would have removed ALL traces of evidence. They use bleach to clean laboritories for heavens sake! Things like that are a joke

There are clear pictures showing investigators trying to reconstruct the break in. One can be seen clearly in reach of the upstaris windo by standing on the rungs surrounding the lower window. All facts added up, the judge would have condemned. @graemeislord about physical evidence in the house scene, the point is that: u say no hair or skin or prints havent been found, buy very strangely enough, not only in Meredith room, but in any other place in the house, kitchen, bathroom... AK and RS spent the afternoon there, how is it possible that they didnt leave one single fingerprint?? And she was living there. So: even complete lack of evidence can prove something: a clean up done.

I also think that the Italy's supreme court will reject Mignini's appeal; not only because Mignini's cause is very bad, but also because, if they were accepting Mignini's appeal, they know that the Americans will refuse to extradite Amanda, and it would be a serious blow to their pride.
