I have an ESP m100FM that the guitar center guys customized for me (action, string tension etc.) I was told to keep the tension balanced, but I unlocked the guitar, and tuned it when it was desperately out of tune. it worked, and the trem was fine for a couple of days. but then I noticed a serious problem. Whenever I bend the low e, that string goes out of tune about a whole step. Is there something I can do to fix this?

@loljonasfail Sounds like problems with your guitar. i've had the same problem with a few ibanez guitars before..

Unless you need to change strings, or tighten the lock nuts... i'd suggest you take it back into the store and get them to fix or replace it. It may just be a minor issue or could be a big one like i've had with ibanez a few years back. hope that helps mate, hope your problem sorts out :D have a good one. kc

@loljonasfail I'm having the same problem with my ESP/Ltd m400. From what I understand, it's probably an issue with the saddle or the fine tuning system. Generally, with mine at least, as long as I don't go Zakk Wylde on the low E, it doesn't affect me too much.

@loljonasfail I have the same guitar and had the same problem until just recently. open up the back and unscrew the screws that hold the claw in most of the way (loosen your strings A LOT first) and start setting it up from there its easiest that way to get the float right which also helps it stay in tune, with brand new strings it stayed in tune after doing police sirens for like 10 minutes. (i didnt even stretch the strings)

What most people don't know about eddie's D-tuna system is you can't raise the pitch higher from level...only down.....you can bomb down...squeel...and start to raise it up...but it won't go any higher than what the guitar is tuned in

No problems. You just have to know how to set it up. and it doesn't help having a crap floyd system from the start. Floyds are GREAT. but you gotta be careful which ones you get. I've had ibanez's n jacksons. n those things were throw away items, floyds on them were terrible

@sticktrix1 yeah you really have to play with the springs in back and onece it is set up it will play correctly. Graptech saddles also help, and you need heavier strings when tuning low for proper tension.

just check in my video list, i've done 2 video's about amp tone and effects and what i use and the exact settings n all that. Theres a lot of things that make you sound a certain way tho. nobody can ever really copy it exactly.

I'm only using a floyd rose special. Made in Korea, made of zinc, yet it works fine. I can rape the tremolo and do high bends etc and it will stay in tune. Of course, I'm upgrading to an Original Floyd Rose golden in may, because the special does get out of tune after 1-2 hours of heavy whammy usage.

The problem with Floyd's is you can't go cheap on them. If you get the original floyd roses, then usually they have no problems. But if you get the licensed Floyd Roses, with companies such as ibanez, they can't do anything, let alone stay in tune. You have to go in the $2000+ dollar range if you're going to get anything worthwhile.

That's why natural vibrato (with the left hand, etc.) is really cool. I hope I can try a worthwhile floyd out someday though.

The problems people have with Floyds (or any other floating tremolo for that matter), is that it takes work to switch between tunnings. I have for quite some time now just setup all my trems flush. So much easier to deal with. If you demand a floating tremolo, get a tremsetter or something of that type. Also, many licensed Floyd are trash, mainly due to the weak metal used for the nuts.
