Rain was parts of a double A side 45 with the other side being Paperback Writer. I own that picture sleeve. When that song came out my brother owned an 8-track player and Rain was one of the cuts on the album. In the middle of the song the track changed and there was about 10 seconds of silence. I knew then that 8-track was doomed and that I would never waste my money on that loser technolocy.

Actually it was on the US release of "Revolver." Capitol Records always thought they could package and market The Beatles better than EMI, which owns Capitol Records. Of course, Capitol Records originally rejected "Please, Please Me, "From Me to You", and "She Loves You" before The Beatles released "I Want to Hold Your Hand in Oct. of '63. Just shows you how stupid Capitol's execs were, kinda like the morons at NBC who put Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien in an impossibly moronic bind.
