rc planes almost never have the same handeling orperformance as the real ones...unless you pay 10k fora plane with a 20ft wingspan....still nice plane....you should upgrade the motor and put a small airsoft gun in it.
The plane is really great.Maybe you guys cant just control it.Spitfire has a wing design that like to tip stalled but not for this plane coz its not scale.Peace
nice flying i really like the looks of this spitfire compared to others i have a few questions though weres the reciver located in the plane and tou dont have to modify or cut anything to get to it right cause i wanna use my spectrum dx6i in it when i buy it please reply and nice flying keep up the good work!:)
That Spitfire does look great but their other WWII fighters need some work as far as authentic looks go. Look at Park Zones 109 then take a look at theirs I'm sure they will work on it though.
Sorry but these planes are junk. Flimsy, zero access to anything and if the electrics dont go to rc heaven in the first 3 minutes, then your very lucky indeed.. Cheap for sure but its not worth the effort if you want value for money.. Sorry again...
This is NOT scale-like performance. Heavy and overpowered is what it is. It does LOOK scale and that's good but no Spit ever hovered, not even close.
That was fantastic young dude, what a skilled flyer you are.I grew up as a kid 20 yrs after world war 2 building spitfire models only dreaming of one you could fly and present day its here!! All the points you were complementing about the planes handling etc are the same things spitfire pilots said about the real thing, that plane saved our asses here in the UK.
On the video of the Norvel, diesel engine, the propeller is an 8 x4, two blade. At 10.4K top end, that delivers 20 ounces of static thrust. I'll be aiming for 18 ounces flying weight and that gives over 1/1 weight to thrust ratio. Plenty of power.
Mine is on its way from HobbyKing without the radio. It won't be electric, I'll be installing one of my 1/2A diesel engines. See my channel or do a search for,
RC engine dieselized Norvel .061
Note that the sound will be more realistic. Also, I anticipate that it'll be lighter allowing for a more realistic flight speed.
hey pete love the music Newsboys rock, any way I have a suggestion for Banana hobby. I would like you guys to sell these airplanes as ARFs and Kits. just a suggestion and I love the Newsboys
pete just got the spitfire but could you tell me if the cg is with or without the battery , the radio on mine keeps losing the link and becouse of that have broke both props otherwise a nice plane
I think all these negative comments are ridiculous. I am new to RC airplanes and both of my planes are art-tech: this exact spitfire and previously a f4u corsair. I think that banana hobby has some great beginner rc airplanes for the novices like myself. I will admit that you do get what you pay for, and these foam planes do not work well in the wind.

Finally got mine, speed controller had bad solder joints and did not function. Repaired it myself after 2 hours of trying to get Banana Hobby to acknowledge it was defective. The plane flew just fine, but you need to be paying attention. Overall I am happy with it. Unlimited vertical? No way... but it flies ok for a scale plane.
i bought this plane and it is really hard to fly not a high lift wing so your flying a pretty high speed to keep it in the air and if you come in to slow on land the wings are quick to stall, i crashed in after a snap roll the magnets failed so the battery pulled the speed controller out and now i need a new plane, bought the new MX2 from bananahobbys hoping for good things :)
Banana Hobby has the worst customer service ever. I was charged for my plane a week ago, and they still have not shipped it. No it was not an authorization, I was actually charged as PURCHASE. Still no ship, and cannot contact customer service, they do not respond to emails.
At this point I would like to just cancel the order but of course I need to reach them to do that.
@helipilot727 hey i just got my order from bananahobby last monday12/07/09 and i ordered it on thanksgiving weekend 11/30/09, i picked the ups ground shipping which is the least expensive and yeah it takes about a week and a half so have just hang in there for a couple more of days.
PS: I got the Blitzrcworks F4U Corsair it is really nice can't wait to fly it, but i have to wait till christmas, its my first 4 channel aircraft my previous plane was the flyzone Sky fly 2 which is a 3 channel.
@Ramilflyer150: Thats a great plane, my friend has one. But his speed control caught on fire instantly before even flying it. Banana Hobby said they would replace it and never did. Good luck, hope everything works out for you.
Yeah, if you are wanting to buy an electric foam plane GET ANYTHING PARKZONE. Do not buy anything Art tech, TW, Blitzrcworks ect. I had an art tech corsair and the motor blew after two flights. I just decided to put an E Flite motor and ESC in it. Those motors come stock with anything parkzone. They make a far superior product.
hi this plane looks amazing but im a beginner and i only have a 3ch piper cub so could i get this or should i get a trainer like the wing tiger so i can get better at flying before i get one of these? thanks (ps. banana hobby is the best rc site :))
Thank you for the comment! Glad you enjoy the site! I would suggest for you to start with the Wingtiger. It is a far better training type aircraft yet can be very aerobatic as well. Please let me know if you have any further questions!
hi, i am not really a beginner but i am only 14, i have the su-27 jet from art tech but havent been sucessfull yet so i was downgrading for a while, if you want to upgrade but dont think you can make the jump to a spitfire you need any plane that has wings above the fuesalage, i think the cessna is a great plane and is what i am getting, it can fly slow etc, art tech do three, if i was you i would get the middle rande one which has blue, not red decal and is brushless.
yea it is a 182, i just suggested it becuase it is a great slow flyer but can go faster as you advance, it also looks nice were as the wing tiger is not actually based on a real plane, it is still a good plane though.
I have not flown the Parkzone version. I just love this Spitfire because it is brushless and in the video, I fly her Stock out of the box and she is plenty powerful and flies awesome!
pete i have ordered this, its on its way to the uk as we speak, my aunty recieved in in just under 2 weeks from me ordering it, i will let you know how it flys etc, i think that bananahobby deserve some praise, i am active on the rcgroups forum for bananahobby, and even if pete doesnt answer ur question immediatly, one of the 6or7 of us on there will, cant wait till i turns up at my door!

But you know what kills it? The fact that it's so silent. You need the sound of a combustion engine to make this perfect.

pete, i love this spitfire, i have been handlaunching her now for a while,
i have a few issues though, the stock props are very weak, i broke both mine very quickly with tiny accidents
it likes to tip over on landing? so i now have a 2 bladed prop and belly land it, 9x7.5 is the best prop i have found
the foam on mine is VERY brittle and weak? it almost snapped in two today after a really high g loop?
could u replace the airframe for me with a different one? maybe a pitts?
