  • The whole music thing is ridiculous, people.. they have adopted this wonderful little girl, we should be thanking them for saving a child's life. The video is beautiful, and thank you for giving her a loving family. I'm sure once she is older she'll know what Ethiopian music sounds like, but all she needs now is an awesome fam and she has it! :)

  • thank you drostant123.it's so selfish to take offense at a loving family taking a child out of poverty and bringing her home.Should they have just let her stay in the orphanage with no potential for education?Stop being haters. If you're so offended, you do something. Do you really feel good about yourself for begrudging this beautiful little girl a family and a loving home? When she grows enough to recognize where she came from do you think she will have rather stayed at the orphanage? Think.

  • Awww <3

  • who cares if the music is ethiopian or nigerian or whatever. just be greatful that she has a loving home. people are so damn petty. in a world of plenty, there is a child dying of hunger every 8 seconds. most of them in africa. try being offended by that .

  • God bless you, and we all know your hearts were in the right place. If you make the effort, it can all work out without her losing Africa. My parents did it by incorporating a bit of Africa and black culture into our lives. my school was all white, but we had African friends and watch Movies like Sarafina(when she is older), Corina Corina, lion king. BOOKS: African CHILDREN Story books, just google that... DONT LET ANYONE TELL YOU HOW TO RAISE YOUR CHILD, GOD WILL LEAD YOU AND YOU WILL DO GREAT

  • I hope she doesn't lose sight of heritage and African culture. We Africans get to know ourselves through our culture. You guy s don't have to go to Ethiopia every year b/c that can be a bit expensive. Don't ignore her blackness b/c the world wont either. do little things like teaching her about black and African pride/ beauty, having a few black role models around her so white suburbia doesn't eat her alive. Trust me, I grew up in an all white town and it really messes with your self esteem.

  • It so sad to see Ethiopian baby been given a way to whom can afford to pay many .This is something new for me as Ethiopian i will naver give my baby.

  • @316JOHNLT Thank you for your comment. It is always the option for a baby to stay with their birth parent in their country but this is not always possible. Ayana was sitting in an orphanage for 6 months before we adopted her. For whatever reason, her mom could not take care of her. We are honored to be able to take care of her and to have her as our daughter. We go to Ethiopia once a year and we look forward to teaching Ayana about her home country and culture.

  • the music isn't appropriate for where Anaya is from... she is Ethiopian and Ethiopian music doesn't sound like this.... please this is offensive. a mother that doesn't know about her daughter's culture and heritage? I hope you have some Ethiopian friends.. or contact me i could teach you, it would be sad to see Ayana to lose her heritage.

  • @Nasra1983 A previous comment has commented on how that is not Ethiopian music but I haven't been able to change it yet. I try to go to Ethiopia once a year because Ethiopia is so close to my heart and her culture and heritage is very important to me. If you know of any great childrens music in Amharic, I would love to use it. Thanks for your comment.

  • @ambrosia2download ..hmmm, that is a nice Central or "Bantu" African song & there is nothing wrong for it to be used for an African child's story. If we go down this route, as the self-appointed defender of things "Ethiopian" is suggesting, then, even Amharic language songs are not suitable either as the little girls name of "Ayana" suggests that she is from the Oromo-speaking ethnic group in Ethiopia. Anyway, God bless you for giving her a better chance in life! She is a lucky girl.

  • @Nasra1983 It's nice that you want to teach her adoptive mother something, but the way you put it is offensive in itself and gives a wrong impression of Ethiopians forreal. I think you could have said it at least a bit nicer. And it just because she has the wrong music does not conclude that she does not know the heritage and culture of her DAUGHTER! I mean I would think she would have had to know something before she went to get her. So please be nicer next time, just a thought. Stay Blessed!

  • lol@"ethiopian music". Maybe you shouln't force it down here. Let your daughter get comfortable with where shes from on her own.

  • I thought it was Ethiopian. I need to find some Ethiopian music.

  • God Blessssss !!!

  • did u use AGCI?

  • We used Adoption Avenues in Portland.

  • she is beautiful!!!

  • why dont you put ethiopian song on your video? the song is not ethiopian.

  • Good to know, I thought it was....Where can I find Ethiopian music on the internet. When I searched this song came up.

    Thanks.
