While Iron Maiden took the main riff for this for their song "2 Minutes to Midnight", I'm sure Budgie was probably listening to the song "Rock and Roll" by Led Zeppelin, which is based on one of the most popular structures in rock and roll, the 12 bar blues progression (in A). This just proves that all good music is derived from the blues.

i love budgie, but i feel this was their weakest era. the songs they were writing in late 70's/early 80's were going along the rocka nd roll type route, in contrast to the heavy-sludge rock of the early days where they were truly awesome.great band though. just my opinion folks

@killerb720 there are hundreds of riffs that sound like this,,, it has nothing to do with ripoff, but wioth the fact that it is avery generetic, simple riff idea that uncountable amounts of guitarists have. even i once wrote a riff like this when i was playing the guitar for two years, not knowing that it already existed like 1000 times.
