Uncertain as to who did it first. Many sources say the original was by Teresa Brewer, but it's also been said that a version by The Bell Sisters, which was a slightly different song, and titled" Boom Boom, My Honey" is the first recording.

The version by Skeeter Davis is the one most people know. Zooey obviously patterned her rendtion after Skeeter's
