  • Ah Snape, best character in the Harry Potter franchise. Beautiful scene

  • The worst decided cut scene Ive ever seen. This would have been the highlight of the film. Like cutting the hallway fight scene out of Inception!

  • I love this scene it the one scene in which you can see Severus feel pain openly as they say: The eyes are the window to the soul. Such a deep pain filled gaze it wrenches me inside of course I am not counting his death scene or the Prince's tale scene either. We see the spy without his mask in here albeit briefly... Beautiful

  • I still don't understand why this was deleted, it's just such a brilliant scene!

  • my 2nd favourite scene in the whole series coming only after the princes tale

  • I like this scene very much, because it shows the dark mood of everyone in this movie....

But after watching all HP movies and deleted scenes within one and a half week, I can tell, that WB did a very good job on cutting and choosing the scenes!! This may be one of the best scenes of all HP movies, but the one they chose instead is a bit darker and fits better to the following scene, and the one before.

  • This is hauntingly beautiful. Chills.

  • THIS IS A GREAT SCENE, MY GOSH WARNER WHY DID YOU TAKE IT OUT OF THE MOVIE IT LOOKS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!! GO TO HELL WB

  • Was this scene after Harry and Dumbledore left Hogwarts, but before they returned?

  • @PhtmoftheOpra "In Noctem" was a song sung by the Hogwarts choir in 1997, conducted by Filius Flitwick, shortly before the school's headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, was killed by Severus Snape.

  • Well actualy it could be the face of Snape thinking : "On which side am I ? Will I kill him ?"

The non readers then think he chose Voldemort's sight which was the point of it.

  • People suggest that this was removed from the movie because it reveals his true allegiance. I have to disagree. Snape knows he is about to KILL another human being, and I think it's perfectly reasonable AND human for him to seem conflicted. Couldn't that be a reason his expression is a pleading look? There is a multitude of emotions and ideas being expressed at this moment, and you need to look at it from a human standpoint and not a book-reader's.

  • I wish I could sing this beautifully ♥

  • This is a good scene!!! Why would they take it out? It actually shows a lot!

  • Alan Rickman is such a brilliant actor to be able to convey that much emotion with just a shot of his face.

  • This is- apart from the prince's tale- the most breathtaking Harry Potter-scene EVER.

And In Noctem is the most beautiful piece of music.

  • One word: Atmospheric. Beautifully so.

  • FUCK EDITORS!!! THIS WAS THE MODAFUKA ASKABAN´S BEST SCENE EVER!! SNAPE RULEZZZZ!!!

  • Latin Lyrics.

    -------------------------------------

Carry into the night, my living creature

    The illustrious stars my way,

The Appearance of the glory that,

While it takes the night the day,

    Sing the Song of Life,

    Acte without pain,

Say to those whom I loved,

    Never Forget.

  • What are they saying in Latin? Or are they

repeating what they said in English?

  • I will never be able to understand why they take great scenes such as this out of the movies. Kind of like how they cut Dudley and Harry's conversation in Hallows Part 1 where Dudley tells Harry that he doesn't think he's a waste of space. I DON'T UNDERSTAND!!! WHY?!?!

  • @splat729 'why they cut scenes such as this out of the movies'... Well this was never in the book so it's not comparable to the Harry/Dudley thing, see my post below for why they needed to cut this out!

  • I dont think this scene fit in the movie, especially with Snape. I know we had all read the last book and we all knew what was going to happen, but if you would only watch the movie and see doubt and regret on Snape's face for something he is about to do, it doesn't fit in with his character as we knew in the Half Blood Prince. He is supposed to act cold about this murder and not with sentiment. Besides it also goes against the first scene of this movie, where he made the unbreakable vow!

  • I don't understand why people don't see why this scene was cut. It's obvious why, you can read the emotion all over Snape's face. Did we ever see that in the HBP book? No. Yes, it's a beautiful scene but it's far too revealing.

  • @JoRowlingRocks Agreed. Even though we all knew what was going to happen, we should remember that we never knew snape's story in the Half Blood Prince. Showing emotion at a time like this would have thrown his entire character off! And i'm pretty sure Alan Rickman asked them to cut this scene, seeing that the emotion was against his character and seeing that he was the only one who knew the story of Snape before it was even penned down!

Nonetheless beautifully shot scene and I love the song!

  • @JoRowlingRocks I agree.

  • @jeweldaytia07 I think it's Latin.

  • @wonderbugz89 yes it is. i used to be in a choir and we did a couple of things in latin

  • What language is that? It's sounds so beautiful the way they sang it.

  • This. is. beautiful. When I watch deleted scenes like this I get disappointed because it really is beautiful and I see no reason why they should cut it out. Of course, you know, it might be too long or whatever, but still, this would've been good for the movie. ):

  • They actually have a watered down version of this seen in the movie, you can hear the music in the background and they use certain shots, but tbh you just really long for this scene in its entiriety.

  • "Tell the ones, the ones I loved, I never will forget" Very fitting lyrics for Snape.

  • hey! the scene with snape!!!! how couldn't they give it into movie?

  • It gave me the chills... brrrr! AWESOMENESS!

  • This is basically the best scene EVER

  • epic

  • They should of left this scene in. Beautifully dramatic.

  • Powerful. So simple...yet so foreboding.

This scene sends shivers up my spine...especially at the end with Ron and Hermione looking at the sky (reminds me of the back cover of the book) ... it just says that it's almost over and the time is coming

  • That scene would've made dumbledores death way more Epic, unfortunately it wasn't to be :(

  • I love the seen its amazing it made me cry + sev was in it !!! but if u imagine it in the movie i dont know it dosnt seem right !!

  • why, warner? UGH

  • Half Blood Prince is one of my least favourite of the series but seeing this scene in the film would have rised it considerably, yet i understand why it wasn't included, shame : /

  • sevvvvvvvvvvvv =(

  • por que no la pusieron??!! es la mejor abria llorado... quiero la version extendida ahora!

  • They deleted it because they think that people would known that Severus Snape is not a traitor so easily with it. But it's the greatest scene of this movie.

  • @Melosthe It's not our fault people don't read the books!

  • i would so have cried if i had seen this scene at the cinema.

  • It will remain a mystery, but oh well. At least we have seen it.

  • Why....? WHY?!?!?!?!? Why would they take out prolly the most BEAUTIFUL SCENE in the ENTIRE movie!?!?!??!!?!?!?

  • I love this scene and I love the song. Fortunateley it's on the OST. This is just great! I love the facial expressions of the people who are shown here...it makes me sad thinking of Snape who actually already knows that he soon will be the murderer of Albus Dumbledore!

  • The look of Ron and Hermione, the same with the book cover. Great idea!

  • @DonlonSimsTR, I'm sorry, what do you mean..?

  • @wateralchemist94 In the end of the video, Ron and Hermione looks to the windows, they are near each other. This scene is the same in Half Blood Prince book's back cover.

  • @DonlonSimsTR Oh, I see =) Hahahah we have different book covers here in Finland so I wouldn't know xDDD

  • @DonlonSimsTR i just have the one with the drink of despair, what are you talking about?

  • @Ryodisis Look this is the cover I'm talking about

news.bbc.co.uk/media/images/41285000/jpg/_41285627_potterbig.jpg see Ron and Hermione? It is the same position in this scene :)

  • @DonlonSimsTR which book cover? it's not in the american or the british one!

  • @emilydanr It's on the back of the American cover.

  • @DonlonSimsTR no theres only the drink of despair on the back cover

  • This scene was epic!!

  • Frankly, I think this scene was very well put together and shouldn't of been cut. Also if you know anything about Snape, all you have to do is look at his expression...

  • actualy <3 this, so #FTW

  • Warner probably cut it because it was too long a time with nothing actually happening. Mood-setting and character examinations are something for arty movies, don't you know? When you're Warner all that matters is action!

  • The lyrics go perfectly with what's happening. Why, Warner! It would have been SUCH a good scene!

  • thanks for this video! this is scene is wonderful and the lyrics so meaningful! <3

  • why did he delete this scene from the movie it was the best scene!

  • @revolverbangbang

You know you Warner. When its about Harry Potter, they just can't let a good scene happen ! It would be a blasphemy to their shit art !

  • @revolverbangbang

because it would be to obviuos that Snape is good guy ^^

  • @revolverbangbang they deleted it because it gave away Snape's loyalties too soon (we weren't supposed to know until the 7th book for sure)... because of how awesome of an actor Alan Rickman is.
