@AdamBRU LS1 cars can run 12.9. It's documented in many magazines. Not that every driver can pull that off, of course. Average driver runs low 13's, but experienced driver can get a 12.9. Add a cam, heads and gears, and you have an 11 second ride just like that. Getting 10's takes more work, but a stock bottom end can handle it. Supras are beasts, as well.

If it's high 12's, low 13's or mid 13's, it's all within a few tenths anyway, so we're really splitting hairs here - I beat GN's in my 1986 5.0, and everyone told me it couldn't happen, but it did. Some cars have a tiny bit more power and with a driver who can powershift perfectly, plus good 100 octane gas, good traction, anything is possible - within reason, of course... Peace.

That's the difference of 50hp, or going from Street Radials to a Drag Radial. Or a DR for cheaters. Also those alleged 12 second F bodies are all Factory freaks, most of them having the LS-6 intake making them "frankenstein" motors in terms of being factory stock.

The most notorious of this as of recent was the SC cobalt SS and SRT-4 Neon which was proven to be already underrated by many owners who baselined their cars before tuning. And in the mags the cars were quicker yet!

Guy that bought it off me kept spraying it, though only the first stage and it lasted till 2010, now I think it's got a snail and is sleeved. I miss that thing :(

No RICE is abbreviated for Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancement. so anything that you can put on your car to make it look fast but nothing performance wise, those kind of "enhancements" include spoilers, body kits, useless hood and fender scoops, etc. it doesn't have anything to do with the country that a car is from.
no problem, yes but really a spoiler will mainly only help with aerodynamics at high speeds and is more beneficial to rear wheeled drive cars. and really what money you would spend on a body kit to make the car appear lower you could contribute to a decent suspension kit that would actually make the car lower, handle better, and improve aerodynamics.

Weight reduction is a very expensive ordeal though and that's why lambos are so expensive, that and their v12 engines and their name. No way it's a TT? Anyone ever heard of a Stock Supra or do they all just have over 500hp? If it was an N/A it would have gotten WALKED no question. Stock to stock a TT Supra and a WS6 would be a pretty close race. T/A would rip it out of the hole but the Supra would be nipping at his ass once the turbo's spool up and start making boost. these are my two favorite cars, sure the supra's a little faster stock for stock, but the t/a is naturally aspirated, so when you see a trans am turboed or supercharged its a beast.

I had an eclipse turbo do me this way exactly in my Z at higher altitude than I'm used to. I would have waxed his ass at home. my Z felt depressing at 2000' vs 800' at home. wouldn't even break the tires loose in 1sr at a roll which it always does. oh well, gotta love boost.
Sport, the Supra's ran 13.2 stock...The LS powered Camaro's and Firebird's ran anywhere from 13 flat to 13.6...All depends on conditions...The LS's can run in the mid 12's with just a hypertech tune...I've seen it done...Supra's are such a cool car, but completely ruined by that toolish movie and every no nothing Supra tool on YouTube...

Jesus as long as these cars have been around and people still confuse what they had from the factory. F bodies never had LS6 heads from the factory some of the later ones had the LS6 block instead of the LS1 block. Both were 5.7 blocks and neither block made more power in the f bodies, only difference was the oil runners. 12.7 was indeed the fastest time for one though, I had an 02 that went 12.82.

The most notorious of this as of recent was the SC cobalt SS and SRT-4 Neon which was proven to be already underrated by many owners who baselined their cars before tuning. And in the mags the cars were quicker yet!

However, the reason so many people like muscle cars is because you get this big badass amazing sounding v8 engine and a whole lotta car for really cheap. Less money, more power, = more fun to drive on the road. Also i'd like to point out that low revving high power engines are more reliable than high revving engines and therefore require less maintenance and last longer

no problem, yes but really a spoiler will mainly only help with aerodynamics at high speeds and is more beneficial to rear wheeled drive cars. and really what money you would spend on a body kit to make the car appear lower you could contribute to a decent suspension kit that would actually make the car lower, handle better, and improve aerodynamics.

Weight reduction is a very expensive ordeal though and that's why lambos are so expensive, that and their v12 engines and their name. I'm sure though that there are many more mods that can be done to a car that are more beneficial for your money than any "rice" upgrade. It is still fun though to customize your car to appear the way you picture your dream car to look. I wouldnt drive a 1000hp car if it looked garbage haha

No way it's a TT? Anyone ever heard of a Stock Supra or do they all just have over 500hp? If it was an N/A it would have gotten WALKED no question. Stock to stock a TT Supra and a WS6 would be a pretty close race. T/A would rip it out of the hole but the Supra would be nipping at his ass once the turbo's spool up and start making boost. these are my two favorite cars, sure the supra's a little faster stock for stock, but the t/a is naturally aspirated, so when you see a trans am turboed or supercharged its a beast.
i bought the trans am cause its cheaper, but im perfectly happy with it.
when i get out of college ill buy my supra to sit next to my trans am

I would look into some rims that give you better grab with that kind of hp, I've got 17x11's rear so I can get better road and drag traction. I've heard that Yokohama tires under the weight of the car give you the most tread width out of them all, I'm running Sumitomo's and I like em.

And im not a big jap car fan but really? two motherfukin turbo's on an inline 6 vs a supercharged v8? shoulda walked him, this is sad. Should have went with big single turbo and brake boosted his ass. Ive seen big turbo supras pull from 70 to 130 in a few seconds.

@FiveZylinderRacing WS6's arent supercharged dude. The Ws6 package was just rims, tires, slightly upgraded suspension, and slightly upgraded exhaust and intake. Barely faster than a regular trans am.

@FiveZylinderRacing stock supras were not that fast. a ws6 should have beat it stock for stock. this supra didnt look modded. a stock 93-98 supra does the 1/4 mile in 13.6 secs. The supras were only impressive after you upgraded the turbos and what not. Just saying.

Usualy the faster modded Supras making 800+ are using 1 turbo. I beat a 55 Chevy with a mild smallblock with my 68 327 Impala (spanked alot of 5.0s when they came out too hwy or otherwise) back in the day and he even jumpped about a half car before I could react (back when nobody knew about beeping). Oh and I think it's a 2JZ???

I had an eclipse turbo do me this way exactly in my Z at higher altitude than I'm used to. I would have waxed his ass at home. my Z felt depressing at 2000' vs 800' at home. wouldn't even break the tires loose in 1sr at a roll which it always does. oh well, gotta love boost.

Sport, the Supra's ran 13.2 stock...The LS powered Camaro's and Firebird's ran anywhere from 13 flat to 13.6...All depends on conditions...The LS's can run in the mid 12's with just a hypertech tune...I've seen it done...Supra's are such a cool car, but completely ruined by that toolish movie and every no nothing Supra tool on YouTube...

@pillarguy18 I have yet to see a stock WS6 do low 12's. Ive seen them consistantly do 13's and the fastest I ever heard was 12.7 (that was a WS6 with LS6 heads from the factory)

Jesus as long as these cars have been around and people still confuse what they had from the factory. F bodies never had LS6 heads from the factory some of the later ones had the LS6 block instead of the LS1 block. Both were 5.7 blocks and neither block made more power in the f bodies, only difference was the oil runners. 12.7 was indeed the fastest time for one though, I had an 02 that went 12.82.

@prosurfer2222 yup we hooked up the GM TECH II to it on the showroom then drove it to the track then brought it home where her parts where waiting for her. its hard to consider a tune a mod considering all we did is take the computer edit off a STOCK LS7 and put it on a STOCK LS1 i see ur point BUT do u see mine? its a stock GM tune thats the only difference between LS1 and LS2 the compute
