Well, I am doing the same. Record in 1680*1050 (screen size) and scale down to 1280*720.
As you can see in my HD testvideo "BMW M3 Race of Champions in rFactor" its still very grainy...
And Hardware should be also no problem (quad-core, gtx285, 4gb ram)

Nice video!
I am also creating videos but mine are not that "smooth". May I ask you which software you are using and which codecs/resolution?
I am recording with fraps and cutting with Magix VDL.
Thank you in advance!
Thanks!
I'm using Sony Vegas 8 and fraps to record it.
I resize the videofiles to 1280*720 (thats the youtube HD resolution)
Thx for your fast reply. I am surprised that you are using such a small resolution. Is there any trick to make the pics smoother?
My ones are looking quite "grainy" allthough I am using a higher resolution... :-(
Well I don't really know why that is...
I record at 1680*1050 and then resize it to 1280*720 to have a HD clip on youtube.
So maybe your computerscreen is smaller and you try to use a much larger resolution?
Oh no
