I just been to the river Jordan baptism site.

The water is clean no smell if sewage and plenty of fishes swimming about.

The tour guide was upset when I mentioned people saying River Jordan is dirty because it supplies the water to the Dead Sea.

I am a Jew from Israel and I admit Israel did many mistakes and caused a damage to the southern part of the Jordan river.

Currently, Israel builds factories which makes "good" water from sea water (don't know the correct word). I beleive that when enough water will be used from the Middle Sea, then Israel will stop/reduce the use of water from sea of Galil and more water will go to the Jordan River.

The sewage and waste water should be diverted to the arid lands where nothing grows, not allowed to be pulluting the rivers and oceans, but to reforest the coastlines and cause it to rain by removing the thermal barrier that curently prevents clouds from crossing onto the land from the ocean and falling as rain.

Then you can change the structure of the desert sands by replacing the lost organic material which will hold onto the irrigation water long enough to establish the forests.
