Vicky Lawrence must have been the most often celebrity on Pyramid. It would have been great if they could have done an episode where Vicky played Mama and Carol.Burnett played Eunice.
Now regarding this opening clip, Earl Holliman is in this opening montage, but I have a question for you Josh, the one with Earl Holliman in this opening, was the backdrop now red during the WC playings or was the backdrop still blue at that point? If the backdrop was still blue during the WC playings that means that the WC boxes were still blue since Earl didn't appear in the first 2-4 weeks of this 2nd CBS Daytime Year.
A bit off topic here, but have you ever tape traded with Chuck Donegan before? Not only does he have an impressive collection of 80s $25K Pyramid episodes, but he's also got the entire week with Audrey Landers & Charles Siebert from September 1983 in his collection.
I GOT IT! In the same way they now have WWE on demand where they can show old matches and PPVs, GSN needs to put that together! Have a USA section for all the stuff from the early 90's, an 80's section for this, PYL, and the like, a Merv Griffin section, Match Games, Password, the possibilities are endless!
This is of my favorites is the Pyramid.

I read somewhere that when it premiered in 1982, people confused it with the Bill Cullen version, which still aired in reruns in some markets.

Was the limit still $25,000 here or was it $50,000?

Wow, it's hilarious to see so many big-at-the-time stars on game shows (like Fox).
Today they wouldn't be caught dead on one.

Btw, tvrewind, this episode of The New $25,000 Pyramid is from the week of May 7-11, 1984. Vintage, man!:)

May 14-18, actually.

The celebrities that were on the week of May 7-11, 1984 were actually Deborah Adair & Michael Spound.
vnisanian2001 4 years ago
Michael Spound was that dude from Hotel, right?

I wish GSN got the rights to the late 1983-late 1987 episodes of the show.
vnisanian2001 4 years ago
There should be a GSN 2 where they could put all their new game show crap on.
Then on GSN 1 they could put the great game shows like this one and Match Game.
