  • I think its the same reason as to why most actors or movies get under appreciated. While it is good to make the audience feel sad or sorry for the characters, a lot prefer to laugh or feel moved by a romantic scene. It's the same typical thing that happens at any decade. The comedies and dramas would still have that empathy, but they would be more prefered than the rest.

  • i wish he were here now i have seen all his films.

  • Perfection! Thank you!

  • just found out about him sad he died young and i know the phantom face iv seen it all over horror books love him

  • He was such a great makup artist. I have seen many of his films and had no idea what he actually looked like untill I saw this.

  • Sorry, got cut off. Ron has done everything in his power to keep his father's and grandfather's legacies alive. Look him up :)

  • @cristinawilligs Chaney's son Creighton (LCJr.) did have children, one of whom is Ron Chaney. They

  • @Liebling05 Ron is Creighton's Grandson. I am proud to be a distant relative of Lon and Creighton (Lon Chaney Jr) Both amazing actors that have been overlooked for their achievements and talents here in the US. They are mostly remembered for their Horror movies although both men have played very diverse roles. One that just amazes me is that of Lon Chaney as a China man. Ron and his family have been trying to raise the Money for Lon Chaney Jr's star in Hollywood which is far overdue.

  • A Lon Chaney museum would be awesome.

  • Lon was so ahead of his time. My favorite actor by far. I do feel that Gary Oldman is a very fine and most underrated actor. Peter Sellers is another one who only gets credit for his comedy but Peter was a fine actor I mean Dr. Strangelove c'mon

  • i DONT CARE HOW OLD iam i like old actors

  • I collect Chaney's work. Never has an actor brought out so many emotions in me. True genious, true artistry. His legacy shall live forever.

  • As Burt Lancaster said, Chaney in "The Unknown" (1927) offers the finest performance by an actor ever captured on film.

  • @Onlymusical I agree. It was the best performance of his career in my opinion.

  • Lon was the truest all time best Erik, NOBODY today could pull it off like that

  • How come people like Orlando Bloom are so overrated, yet Lon Chaney has more talent in his little finger?

(I still love Orlando Bloom) :)

  • awwwwwwwwwww thats so sad :( he does deserve WAY more

  • Thank you so much for this two part incite into one of my biggest idols

  • Lon Chaney was the greatest actor ever to grace the screen. His emotions were so beautiful and real unlike many others of that time. I also find it incredible that he did his own makeup also unlike other "stars" of that day. Lon Chaney is immortal and it is indeed disgusting and disgraceful that they do not have "at least" a statue, museum, or a boulevard named after him. He deserves so much more than we can ever give him. He should be more recognized than any of those other "stars" :(

  • @phantomcrawford He should have a honorary Oscar given to his family in 2012 for his body of work. I know that their are fine actresses and actors but IMO Lon is above them all

  • @clintbronson5 iguess he has not family survived, dont think his only son had family

  • LON CHANEY IS A LEGEND

  • This is great. Thanks for this

  • Growing up in the 70s, I collected horror magazines. Lon Chaney was often considered the genius behind the genre.

As I have grown older, I am saddened to see that his powerful legacy to cinematic art has gone mostly unrecognized! Did the Baker family fall asleep?!

A true genius of film, Chaney deserves much more than he has posthumously received.

  • Dear Slantsixx, That poster from"The Indestructlble Man"..That film didn't

star Lon Chaney,Sr..that film starred his son..Creighton Tull

    Chaney AKA Lon Chaney,Jr.

  • he inspires me to fight to bring that classic art back to film.

but Lon Chaney will Never die! he is always there even if you dont know him even if you dont care to see his movies. he IS always there.

  • Lon Chaney is stupendous! definately a talent that so many of us today forget about! Lon Chaney is amazing i must watch all his movies

  • Lon Chaney was a GENIUS!

  • Very nice video - Orson Welles said in 1971 that there has never been a tribute to Chaney anything near the dimensions he deserves.

  • You've got me motivated and excited for a great cause but you haven't provided information for how we will see this through lol.

  • God blless Mr. Blake for all his efforts! However, he is not in possession of my original makeup case. It was donated by my wife Hazel to the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History. However, if I'm not mistaken, Mr. Blake has created a very accurate replica of my case and possesses that.

  • you have Lon's make-up case?

  • @thEannoyingE Michael F. Blake does. Not the guys being interviewed. Blake is the number 1 fan of Lon Chaney. I want to hire Michael F. Blake and Chaney's great grandson; Ron Chaney to pen a remake of MAN OF A THOUSAND FACES which I want to direct and have star either Joe Pilato from DAY OF THE DEAD or Tom Hanks from TOY STORY as Lon Chaney, Tom Hardy from INCEPTION as Tod Browning, Mark Wahlberg from THE OTHER GUYS as Irving Thalberg and Josh Peck from DRAKE & JOSH as Lon Chaney, Jr.

  • @LeonidasChaney Leonidas may I join the long line of ladies who want to have your babies.
