Some great rockers of the 1980s include ''Drop The Gun'' by Kings Of The Sun,''Rip And Tear'' by The L.A.Guns,''Everyone's A Star'' by TNT,''Radar Love', by White Lion and ''Rock Soldiers'' by Frehley's Comet (Ace Frehley).
Some more really great 80s tunes include ''You Know I Love You,Don't You'' by Howard Jones,''It's A Sin'' by The Petshop Boys,''Dreamtime'' by Daryl Hall,''Call It Love'' by Poco and ''Variety Tonight'' by REO Speedwagon.
i love this song!!! I was born in 1952 and I grew up in the 1960s.I agree that the music of the 1980s was the best. However,I think that bands like Cold Play are as good ,if not better, than the Beatles were.
Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!
i think everyone thinks their generations music is the best. i remember in the 80s lots of people use to say the music was crap, now everyone praises it
I do remember this video very well for it reminds me of a very happy time of my younger life some decades ago. This song and 'been in love before' are part of the soundtrack of these happy times. Thank you very much for posting this.
The video looks very hard to edit for those days..... Looks like a very tedious job of editing even by todays standards..... Classic 80's stuff that was good. I think it had to do with alot of producers using the same top of the line synths and hardware normal people weren't using. Now everyone has access to everything practically.
Great News, the first 2 Cutting Crew albums are to be released at the end of may. Broadcast (which features this track) & The Scattering are available to pre-order now from Amazon
This was such a fantastic track...never saw the video at the time. Should've been a big hit(only got to #52),along with"Any Colour"(only #83!)...great memories though!
I used to have the Broadcast CD. Great one. I'm so glad I was around then to experience great music like this! Too bad music has gone to hell since....
i thought this ( visually) was one of the best videos made. it sounded really good too. this was out summer 1987 but a different song became there biggest hit a few months later.
@TeslaDRay man are you so.......right reality on mtv killed mty when mtv had DJ"S that's when it was good not now,the music today stinks so.....bad.mtv should of keep the music videos but then again i don't control mtv. now vh1 classic has the videos.
@TeslaDRay the only differences is on you tube you can select what you want to listen to, on vh1 classic you can't you just have to listen to what they play.
Missed this song...The Broadcast is a freakin fantastic album, people remember this band for just two songs, this is a classic for me,epitomises the 80`s....it feckin rocks!!
Them and Crowded House were tit for tat. Both their first songs came out about the same time and were big hits. Both of their follow ups came out about the same time and were respectible hits. But one had a minor hit with the third and I don't remember that.
My theory is mockingbird is a reference to music critics and naysayers that likely dissed the group or Nick V. Eede earlier in career. One more song is a shot at these critics, that not only are we playing but STILL here for one more song, dedicated just to you. The lyrics are consistent with this - "don't let them sap you energy", "don't be fooled by those who feed you words", "sweetest song of mockinbird ..couldn't hope to match one note of any song .."....oh yeah I am addicted to song
One of the most remarkable song. Long live the 80s they rock truely. i remember those were the times and there was something special in those moments. The music in those times have been ringing continously and endlessly. Seems like where this kind of stuff is gone presently. 80s and early 90s had by far the best of the bands in any genere. Those golden times of college days with these sounds in the air, should come again.
Another great 80's song...Those of us fortunate enough to grow up in the 80's know we had the best Music, movies and Videos like this when MTV actually played videos. Long live the 80's!
too bad about the video. it looks like a messy, second rate vid of a-ha's "take on me". it might have looked cool back in the bombastic 80s, but the vid has no pertinence to the song--which is awesome by the way.
@dot4design as much as I love the 80,s ,It would B so diffucult for me 2 decide on a playlist full of 80,s music b/c everything including music was just tht gd,no they were the best!!!!!!,I wish tht I had a time macine right now.

Pipoheinze 2 years ago 3
From 3:45 the song has a guitar solo not heard on the CD. I like this ending much better.
Also, the ending on the CD fades with the next song, "Been in love before", which makes difficult if one wants to have only this song.
Does anyone know a CD version with the ending like in the video?
