... Nagato rules; Naruto convinced him from being pain and death to become life, and he was willing to sacrifice his life admitting his mistake, leaving Naruto to find the answer (like Jiraija). I loved the Pain-arc... I think that's as good as Naruto is going to be (the series, the char. wil just get better): Naruto created this awesome filosofy that came forward in that arc... and it was just... indescribably good (saying that because I really have a hard time describing how good it was)

In my own personal opinion this was Nagato's greatest moment and in all fairness his actions then really did damage Tobi's ambition since having the Leaf in the joint shinobi alliance is a massive blow for the Akatsuki.

Zetsu came after pain, Pain was the leader of the Akatsuki, after his death Tobi introduced himself as Madara. Zetsu instantly knew he had to follow Madara. So most likely Madara made him and told him to follow the plan until he would return or something.

Madara never had the Rinnegan before he took it from Nagato...

Nagato is an Uzumaki, that means that he is related to the Senju-clan.

@100lolface its clearly stated in the series that madara is actually the sage of the six paths, and nagato isn't a senju hes apparently a descendant of the sage of the six paths and his rinnegan is one of the two that you can receive, one has the power of death and the other the power of life, when naruto is talking to nagato we find out that nagato has the rinnegan which gives him power over life, so technically since he is a descendant of madara he COULD be classified as a senju/uchiha

@skarpengland yeh thats something along the lines of what i was thinking...pretty sure the masked guy...'tobi' is just a clone made by zetsu, like zetsu does for kisame when kisame fights the 8th tail killerbee... its quite obvious cause when tobi fights foo (one of danzos bodyguards) he rips his arms of after touching the bugs and its all white and gooey, zetsu clone? the real body of madara is trapped away somewhere...and somehow kabuto has it...sly little bastard
