  • I lost count of how many times he said "I", and "me".

  • fuckin badass

  • Great book! Truly inspiring! I hope to climb K2 in the future. However, I am glad that I listened to my instincts while climbing Aconcagua. Although it is definitely not in the same scale, difficulty, or danger as K2, listening to my instincts saved my life. I'd be frozen somewhere at 6000m had I not. Glad I read the book No Shortcuts to the top!

  • @boomdeyadaa if you ever come to pakistan islamabad do let me know if you wanna party mate

  • yeah both annapurna and nanga parbat have higher death rate but when a man says this about k2 and when hes climbed all of those mountains, hes right, he also says its the most deadliest, math goes out the window, i believe hes earned credibility. sorry, he said k2 is hardest and most dangerous im gunna go w him

  • K2 is k2...no match

  • K2 is for Men......

  • K2 is K2 nothing comes close to it. Not Everest certainly.

  • @azzy314159 Umm I dunno. Annapurna is pretty freaking hard. I mean 40% of the people that try it die.

  • @seige184 You need to go a bit deeper than just quoting a stat. Just do a season-by-season analysis of climbs attempted vs failed/succeeded and survival/fatalities per season. K2 is a CONSISTENT killer - year in and year out. The latest data is that after the horrible disaster of 2008 on K2, NOBODY summited in 2009 and all of ONE climber summited this season, 2010. We are talking bad ass here, when we talk about K2.

  • @sweetnothing1977: And no one has summited K2 this year as well in 2011. The season is about to end and looks like its gonna end up with just 1 summit in 3 years on K2. Speaks a lot about the mountain itself.

  • @seige184 ummmmmmmmm. well im gunna listen to a man who has climbed both, and when he says k2 is the hardest to climb, im gunna listen to him, nont u who has not climbed either mountain

  • @omtomt8787 Ok I was talking to azzy314 on the "nothing comes close to it", not what Ed said. Look stats say Annapurna = the most deadly so if you want to argue w/ Math then go ahead. I'm not discounting difficulty I'm talking dangerous. K2 is widely said to be the most difficult but I'm not talking that I'm talking dangerous. 2X death rate = most dangerous end of story.

  • cool

  • I've read the book. Brilliant!

  • I as a humble climber (less t 4.000m) feel amazed towards the distant image of such beauty. K2 is so deadly as beautifull... As once a italian climber, its name echoes adventure, mistery, life and death. Fosco Maraini, said K2 is:"...just the bare bones of a name, all rock and ice and storm and abyss. It makes no attempt to sound human. It is atoms and stars. It has the nakedness of the world before the first man - or of the cindered planet after the last."
