  • I'm as unmotivated as he is. I think going to the gym and reading the newspaper regularly are two of the most difficult habits to get into. I've never mastered them. I can't even come close. People who do those things have a lot of discipline.

    I read some of qur'an and laughed my ass off (though bible was even funnier). I was also offended by how that book treats women and nonbelievers, but hey - then I just stopped reading.

    So I urge you to read something else than some old book written by bezillion people (yes, mortal people wrote that book. Every book actually.) - something like human sexual reproduction or some primer on evolution.

  • I am 65 with a rock solid mid section. 3-4 times a week for the last 40 years, I have pumped iron,, in the gym... workouts last about an hour, including 12-15 mins of INTENSE cardio (skip rope, punching bag, etc) and I have no regrets. 12% body fat and 120/82 blood pressure. $35 a month for membership. Cheap when you consider the results... nothing works better if you want to lose FAT

  • your probably doing the wrong type of workout simon0. there are workouts for increasing the size of your muscles and workouts for increasing the strength of your muscles. of course both workouts have elements of each in them but one would be more effective than the other.

    I went to the gym abotu 3 times a week for 6 months and noticed no difference. dunno if i was doing the wrong program or what, but there was no changei n how my body looked. Although i could lift heavier weights than when i started.

    it might be cause i am overweight so you cant actually see if the muscles have grown. thats a possibility.

  • ok thanks for the reply. im not that great with diets. I can lose weight but tend to put it on later on. (i find it hard to keep it off) but that might be the reason.

    Anyway congrats! My weight is doing ok. I lost quite a lot then put on a bit again but i am happy. The trend is generally down.

  • @Simon0 na man, I just cut off all fats a sugars, and replaced them with the good respective types, i.e fruit, meats, white meats, take the skin of chicken and the weight drops off in no time. I am always full, anyways thats good to hear ! keep up the effort
