  • I dont know what i did but my Bios was different and it worked... thanks.. MSI/amd

  • will this work with a gigabyte ga-890xa-ud3 motherboard?

  • very helpful, i am no longer a newb.... sorta

  • @TheWaywardWinter It helps to see it done. Have a good one.

  • not shabby at all. What u doin with that weakling video card in there breathin all the glorious CPU's air? lol

  • Would your method be similar if applied to a similar Gigabyte (990X chip set) board?

Also I didnt catch if you used the stock heatsink or an aftermarket cooler with your achieved 3.4 GHz?

    thanks for the video ;)

  • @acuna13 The general idea will be the same with any CPU or chipset. I used a stock cooler in this video. Have a good day

  • @nate42nd

In your opinion whats the general rule of thumb for max temperature, running an overclock cpu 24/7 (dont mean literally 24/7) ?

  • looking for a oc on a ga990fxa-ud3 [f5] board and a 1055t cpu stock cooled any ideas or use this tut i managed to get my ram to run at 1600 with stock clock 2.8 or what not it is not letting me run 1866 thax for the vid

  • help, i go into bios but it doesnt show what you have

  • I've never really understood memory timings. Isn't it okay to leave the timings as sensed by default SPD ?

  • i will buy these x6, but tell me, i can do that overclock with stock cooler with secure temp?

  • @DiogoAlvessify Enough to learn but not enough to game. You can get a decent cooler for 30 dollars.

  • @nate42nd ok

  • @nate42nd if i do this, will mine overheat with 3 huge fans in in mine? I was playing Fallout on max graphics and when i was done 3 hours later, it was blowing cool air, so im good right?

  • @TheDuDe536 Yea, you will know if your CPU overheats. Be careful.

  • @nate42nd i have a water cooler or what its called and 4 fans on the case... will this be alright`?

  • @retardedBananaXp Yes, if you have a decent water cooling system and 4 case fans you can do more overclocking than I have done here. Monitor your temps and have fun!

  • fantastico

  • Thank you kind sir. I am now able to play skyrim w/o insane fps drop in town. I bestow the title upon you Thane of Overclocking

  • what can liquid cooling do? at 3.2GHz with mine gets me 30degreese (c)

  • what the fuck you want if your pc is already 3ghz overclocking more than that is insane

  • can i make my processor at 4ghz ??? im using same cpu ... and my cooler is deepcool iceblade pro with one fan ... gonna add 1 fan pretty soon ...

  • How are you doing this????? This is a locked processor is it not?

  • @steavedaver No, it's not locked. Some motherboards don't have the same abilities as premium ones. That may be a problem.

  • @nate42nd whats ur ram?

  • hi i got the same cpu and i am desperate to overclock it, but the problem is i got a different motherboard so my bios settings are kinda different and since i dont get this at all what the hell am i gonna do :<

  • Cool and quiet can be changed in the control panel...theres options called

    Energy saving mode

    High performance

    and balanced

if u change to energy saving mode it goes back down to 1 ghz and the temp will get lower aswell high performence is when you use it all

  • So, with this CPU I could overclock to 4 ghz with no repercussions? Or would it just make it wear out faster?

  • Where can I find the details about my ram, i am running kingston memory

  • Why don't you change ''AMS k8 cool/quiet control'' and ''amd c1e support'' to disabled

  • @HQRiko He did :)

  • @HQRiko because cool and quiet changes the speed of the cpu sometimes

  • it was God who sent you, thank you. I have a question, to perform the overclock to 3GHZ, I have to replace the power supply? My specs: Asus M4a88t-m; same cpu, 1g HD 4850, 2GB DDR3 Kingston 1333MHz; Seventeam 470W (can not remember the model) and stock cooler average temperature is 45C ° (Brazil is hot guys!)

  • @H146o If it's a Silver or Gold certified it will be fine. Less will most likely work but why temp fate. Good luck.

  • Can i Overclock it up to 3.4 with its own default Cooler please answer ?

    Core voltage currently is 1328.v

  • can i overclock it to this speed with a stock cooler that comes with it in the box???i bought it and it had only 2.8 ghz!! plzz reply!!

  • @dinocelikovic You can but not much. It all depends on ambient temps and monitoring your temp. Look up the high temp for the CPU and be careful so you don't burn it. Good luck.

  • do i need a temp monitor program with liquid cooling to the cpu??

  • @TheProgamer9 Yes. One always needs a temp monitor if you plan to do any kind of cooling mod.

  • Thank you for finally creating an overclock video that isn't esoteric, convoluted and confusing. I really appreciate it.

  • i just got mine running these settings but had to stop prime95 cause the temp went up to 85 when i wasnt looking. going to look at some cooling options now i think.

  • what is the temperature of your processor if your overclock it to 3.43ghz and can it run 24/7 ?

  • i overclocked my 1055T all the way up to 3.7GHz without increasing the voltage on it and it runs perfectly stable.

  • when i overclock it says you have made some changes which results in boot failure and when i continue to windows it still remains 2.8 ghz, my specs are amd phenom 2 x6 1050t xfx hd 5870 750w coolermaster,8 gigs corsair

  • I have my to 3.8 ghz and the temp is 45c when i am benchmarking in OCCT and stock cpu fan isn't at the highest rpm. Is this good?

  • You are very smart, thank you for such information

  • Comment removed

  • you voltage seems a little high for 3.43GHz, perhaps 1.33 would be fine

  • u can overlock 4X 3,3 to 3x 7,0 but u need to have nitrogen

  • I'm just 14 and a pretty big noob. but can i overclock my cpu to like 4ghz with water cooling.

  • @SSGLeader mines air cooling and im 4.4 so yes u should be fine

  • I love your Videos!

  • how can i get temps for it

  • @DannnyJS Core Temp is what I use for AMD chips. It works fine.

  • which cooler? boxed?

  • @salamandabiko Yes, stock cooler. That's it. It's a cool running chip.

  • Would this be a bad idea to overclock it to this with stock cooler? Aftermarkets are good yes but how much of a temp increase would i see?

  • I hope this CPU works and overclocks great with the 890fxa-ud5 MB.

  • mine runs at 3.30 ghz.

    25°C at idle :P

  • @Alililele You aren't using the stock cooler? O.o

  • @OmnicidalVideos ^^ sorry :P

    nope : Noctua NH-C12P SE14 <<<<<<< AWESOME!!!

  • Wow that with a mATX motherboard? O_O

Awesome. I did this with my ASUS motherboard

  • 1st few times it crashed at 4.2 GHz, but I fiddled around with it and I've been running the stability test for 23 minutes so far and it seems to be stable, maxing out at 57ºC. I wonder if it'll go up to 4.5 GHz. Anyone gotten it that high?

  • I boosted it up to 4 GHz in the bios, then I opened up AMD OverDrive and eased it up to 4.2 GHz with a small voltage increase. It's runningly nicely at 52ºC after 10 minutes of running the stability test (and my fans aren't even running at high speeds).

  • Thanks, nate42nd! I was able to overclock my 1055t initially to 3.5 GHz by just upping the frequency clock to 250 MHz (it was stable), but when I tried to go higher I crashed. Now I know why, I just had to watch the HT and NB frequencies. Btw, since I was able to go at 250 MHz easy, that means the HT and NB frequencies can actually go up to 2500 MHz instead of just the 2000 MHz you say. But it's all good. :)

  • Yep , best cpu for me (: awesomer then awesome !

  • I overclocked my 1075t to 4.0ghz. I put my ram to 1444mhz. Also put an SSD in too! ^__^ totally blows the mind!

  • Great vid nice info have good holidays m8!

  • up to 4GHz without extra voltage . . . awesome mate, thats a killer cpu to a very good price, yeah :)

  • @kovacs111078 Yea, very good CPU. I have been impressed wit it so far. I haven't recorded most of my tests with it, but it's a great value. It almost keeps up with my Core i7 860 for a little less money

  • @nate42nd i have the same motherboard

so if i want to run it at 3.8 - 3.9 ghz i just increase FSB and put the rest of the settings like u did?

  • @mrbest20 You can try it. You will need a good cooler. Yo may need to up the voltage a little. Very little. You may want to read one of the tutorials on the six core AMDs. It will do it. I have not had mine that high yet. Not enough cooling. I may do another vid on a higher OC. Good luck man.

  • @nate42nd what cooler ru using?

  • @mrbest20 Yes, you might need a little bit of extra voltage, but with some cooling and voltage you should run it fine.

  • @Aman1238 i have a custom cooler

i have it set to 3.8 GHZ and it works good

  • @mrbest20 Good to hear. Thanks for letting everyone know.

  • @mrbest20 Nice :P I have mine at 3.5 GHz

  • @Aman1238 thats awsome man

  • Sweet video, get some cpu cooler for even more fun with this AMD.

PS: I upload some photos from my 550D to my new MAC and... they looks amazing on 2560x1440 IPS display!

    O and merry christmas dude!

  • The 95watt version of this cpu is awesome :)

  • nice nate doog

  • I'd love to see some comparisons between this and say a socket 775 quad core and a 1156 quad core. Say rendering time in sony vegas or other video rendering benchmarks...

Good video, nice to see some computer stuff from you again! Thumbs up!

  • @MyRedneckLife This is a good CPU. It's amazing that it will "almost" keep up with my i7860 and a much lower price. I need to compare them at some point. Good to hear from you man.

  • @nate42nd Hey nate, where do you find out the timing of your RAM? Also does it really matter if you underclock your RAM a little like you did? Will performance take a hit?

  • @KokoaShuzen You performance of the RAM will go down maybe a little if you underclock it. Not really noticeable. You can always "fine tune" it with adjusting the CPU speed up a little.
