lol what people do not realize is the substance we drill for is refined with others from other country we probably do not see hardly any of our own oil it is mixed together, an example is BP a USA company? drills here but it is refined with all its collected oil. another thing I could care less about them getting tax cuts when just before Bush left they raised all the prices just because they felt like it they and by the way the industry is mega rich stop no more oil sun and wind buid turbines.

We have to transition OFF this oil-based economy. It will run out and we have to find solutions NOW. More digging is NOT a good one.

The future is HERE and NOW. Thirty years ago we were the PAST, now we're thirty years down the line in a worse situation. We have massive amounts of natural resorces to pull from. Don't save your good china for a special occasion, or your best pajamas for a hospital stay. We need to use our own resources NOW. Our children and grandchildren will live in a different place, and will have the brains to come up with alternate fuels to meet their needs ... if this planet is still here.

So, we should spend all of our (natural) capital now, leaving our grandchildren with nothing but a hotter planet? This is a very short-sighted approach. We're at least 30 years late in adopting a long-term energy strategy, and trying to drill our way out just delays this essential plan. Meanwhile, the carbon accumulates in the atmosphere. Lets leave our descendants some oil and natural gas for better purposes.

we need to focus on alternative sources of energy or reduce the use of regular fuel, the government should force every gas station in the US to supply E85 fuel or pay a tax for not selling the fuel, they should make the car industry pay a tax for each new car that doesn't run on E85 fuel. the government should offer every car owner a one time tax break and incentive for converting their cars to run on E85 gasoline, and yearly incentives for those who drive their cars less and or carpool.

The only reason these people promote oil and natural gas is to protect their profits at any expense , including environmental devasataion.
