The jacket at 0:58 - what was that? Make that one again, in horsehide, same lining. Schott's quality has slipped a little over the years, but it's been a result of fat people who dont ride, and want 'buttery soft' leather. Gag. Leave lambskin, deerskin and every other thin, baby soft hide to the women and children.

Lamb skin is the best leather, its not too thick and looks great

The originals were made from horsehide. The one Marlin Brando was wearing was horsehide. Horse leather is now scarce in the US because you have to wait for the horse to die of natural causes.

@dhess6 schott also makes the jackets for legendary usa. legendary usa has i believe four styles of horsehide jackets that schott puts together for them.  they look unreal but i can't quite swing the price at this point and i love my perfecto too much to bother buying another riding jacket.
