Ian Moore is so brilliant that he is a Musician's Musician. He is respected by those that teach or play. Vocals are so incredible, it's just divine! To think that his former label is so dumb as to think he could be pigeon-holed as a replacement for SRV! It's OBSCENE to think another human being,or "Austin Sound" can be replaced! Look at how insane of a concept it is to overlook these facts!
I know Ian and the reason he has changed styles is that he sees his career as constantly evolving and absolutely refuses to settle into any one style for too long, even at the risk of having fans reject some of his newer music. He considers the 12 Bar Blues style to be very confining and rudimentary and not becoming of a mature artist. He also shuns gratuitous guitar solos in favor of the singer/ songwriter he has crafted himself into over the years. "Satisfied" is a great blues song however.
Ian and the original band will be doing 6 shows next month in Texas and Oklahoma, focusing on the 1st 2 records. For those of you that miss this phase, this is the time. dates posted @ ianmoore.com
He is really one of Texas best! Only wish his albums were as good as his live. Like room 229 live at Boise River 2002 on youtub that rocks. He is so talented
I absolutely love Ian's music....it is soulful, tender and oh so real! When I find the guy that fits this song for me....I will be in for life.....he has to fit this song!
Ian Moore is one of the greatest singers and guitar players/songwriters on the planet. We wait for him to come close and we go everytime. Love love love this!!! Love the whole album, all of them
I seen him live on Galveston Beach about the time he was "turning." He had just cut all his hair off, but still knew where the volume knob was on the amp...crying shame. I haven't purchased ANY of his music after "Modernday Folklore." Probably never will again. I will just have to get my Moore fix with the first two CD's.
He used to be great until he went all "bubblegum" on us...Give me "Harlem" on an 11 volume and then we be rockin'. He left what made him famous - his roots - to be a pop star. What a waste...
Ian moore kicks ass!!! I realized early on that usually "black folks" like Guy,B.B.,Miligan,Waters, and so on,naturally, have got the BEST blues voices in the world yet, Ian has one of thoes natural, very genuine voices!! He's so fuckin' underrated !! Everyone should know of this cat. I been on him since I was 8 or 9 yrs young! He 's great!
I've been closer!! i got to be with him for a week! so ha i even have pics of us on the beach! and a video to prove it! and his wife and kids are amazing to! i can tell soo much how much he loves his wife and kids
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I know him and i hung out with him for a whole week!!! hes amazing!!! he is the second most coolest man i've met! his sons are adorible! and i get to record with him
ever since the first time i saw IM in concert, i've been wishing fender would release a strat with a tele neck. can't wait for the show in T town this month.
My wife and I both sat right up on the couch and looked at each other in amazement when the contestant who had one last chance to pick one song to sing to show he was worthy of staying in the contest and he sang satisfied. He made it. Simon asked when the guy finished "why did you choose that song?" and the guy said "i love that song!"
This is good music. Far from what Ian is doing today. We need the old Ian Moore back. He was beginning to make it big and totally went off in another direction. NOT IN A GOOD WAY.
What, are YOU kidding?!?!? His record, "To Be Loved" is one of the best and most solid damn recordings ever! "Via Satelite" was equally impressive. Here's an invitation to get out of the cave, dude.
I was traveling through Houston and even the DJ on the radio mentioned that Ian's latest tunes are quite different from his earlier albums. I love his his older stuff and play it all the time. I'm going to think outside the cave though. Send me something from his new stuff "Dude".
Oh man does this make me miss Austin and the great old days. We may be on opposite coast Ian old friend but hardly a day goes by where I don't have your tunes playing in the background. Best to ya!
You wouldn't happen to have the other songs & interview from this performance would you? I realize it's probably a pain in the ass getting them on your computer from old videos. I appreciate the uploads!
Hey Thanks for the appreciation....Good to know someone is watching these....
and heck yea I have the entire concert from this performance.....I actually have tapes and tapes of classic Ian performances...I'll have more up in the next few days
