look buddy it dosn't matter what software you use for drawing what you need is the skill for drawing I suggest you to go for sai paint cause its almost the same as this cause not even I know what software this person have used..T_T

But I can tell you from my own experience that it just takes experimenting with the settings, and going with what works for you. Seriously, spending an hour or so playing around with it can make a world of difference

Another good piece of advice is to use a large canvas. That way, if the lines have a bad look to them, you can hide it easier by cropping the image P:

Canvas size? Working with pixel sizes in the thousands can give good results.

Personally, I prefer working with a 1500x1800 canvas and then reducing the size by 25%. The only thing is it takes a while for SAI to save it

one way to do it is with the pen tool, but otherwise, some people are just that good at drawing the lines

I find using the pen tool way too hard, having to place all of those stupid anchor points everywhere. -_-

Try increasing the resolution of the picture by pixels/inch, make your image larger with free transform, and then zoom in really close to your picture while you're making the line art.

the pen tool is essential to design and such, and after practice with it, it gets much easier to use. don't take it for granted, you can make your final lines very accurate and it's one of the tools that i use most often.

i can see how people think it's annoying. i don't use it much on my digital character drawings, and i got used to it in photoshop because of my constant use of it in illustrator (for logo designs, etc.) where it is the most important tool for designing in the program.
