I cant comment about twilight but i know for a fact that J.K rowlings ideas werent her own. I fully understand that people take snippets from other books and things, but according to many sourses on the internet she took quite alot and she claims its all her own when it can be quite obvious that it is not.

Sure, Meyer tries to hide it by calling her plain and clumsy, but then why do so many boys fall in love with her within the first few chapters? It's also very strange that SMeyer tries to teach girls that boyfriends who try to stop you from seeing your friends are the right kind of boyfriends (they're not). It's horrible fanfiction adapted from Meyer's wet dreams.

In Twilight, it states that vampires don't have flowing life fluids yet in Eclipse this seemingly doesn't stop Edward from getting a boner and knocking up Bella. The books also teach teens it's ok to quit school because you're pregnant, and that taking drugs it totally acceptable.

@jeterlover03 No matter what you do to a character, there will ALWAYS be someone isolated. Take Bella's actions for example: I wouldn't jump off a cliff, and I'm pretty sure you wouldn't. But you can't let that isolation get in the way of writing, because without a personality, you don't have a character anymore. All you have is a role playing fantasy character, and with no real characters, it's hard to call it a story. It becomes more of a Mad-Libs book. And that's not what literature is...

S.M. doesn't tell us if Bella is a Republican or an animal rights activist, or if she likes to go to raves in the begining of Twilight...that way she's more relatable. @girlierox09 Let's start from scratch - Bella Swan (cheesy name) is a perfect, flawless character. Sure, Meyer tries to hide it by calling her plain and clumsy, but then why do so many boys fall in love with her within the first few chapters? It's also very strange that SMeyer tries to teach girls that boyfriends who try to stop you from seeing your friends are the right kind of boyfriends (they're not). It's horrible fanfiction adapted from Meyer's wet dreams.

@girlierox09 Also, the books aren't only poorly researched (vampires don't sparkle, they burn, in the sunligh), they also contradict each other. In Twilight, it states that vampires don't have flowing life fluids yet in Eclipse this seemingly doesn't stop Edward from getting a boner and knocking up Bella. The books also teach teens it's ok to quit school because you're pregnant, and that taking drugs it totally acceptable.

They're a total hit because everyone always falls head over heels for a good love story. She has incorporated some of the many loved fictional characters and involves them with the human world. It's a great fantasy that we all get to experience.

I don't understand why so many teenage girls love her books. Why? There's no lesson to be learned at the end, there's no plot, no character development, no real conflict, Bella is the biggest Mary-Sue in literature, and there was no explained reason for why she and Edward love each other. They don't have anything in common (personal interest wise). Bella likes Edward cause he's hot, Edward likes her cause she smells good, THAT'S NOT LOVE THAT'S LUST

If you had subjective personality material into Bella's character, you're going to isolate someone. Bella is sooo nuetral that anyone could be her. And if anyone could be her, then any girl could, be with Edward...get it. As far as plot is concerned there is definately a plot. Character development: yes ex. Edward/Jacob/ even Bella a little. @jeterlover03 No matter what you do to a character, there will ALWAYS be someone isolated. Take Bella's actions for example: I wouldn't jump off a cliff, and I'm pretty sure you wouldn't. But you can't let that isolation get in the way of writing, because without a personality, you don't have a character anymore. All you have is a role playing fantasy character, and with no real characters, it's hard to call it a story. It becomes more of a Mad-Libs book. And that's not what literature is...

S.M. doesn't tell us if Bella is a Republican or an animal rights activist, or if she likes to go to raves in the begining of Twilight...that way she's more relatable. And any motavations or decisions she makes in the books are soley correlated to the other charcters. She does a very affective job of isolating her story and characters from any outside influences...
