  • I used this so much in my days playing in the amateur leagues, but i added a little extra to it. In anticipation that the defender would guess the fake and try to step into you, I would immediately give the ball a little flick to the side with the pivoting foot as to hinder the ball a bit more from him. Worked every time.

  • although I dislike Johan Cruyff strongly (just look at what he's currently pulling off at Ajax), I love the style of football he played. The simplicity of it is what's so misleading: Watching videos of him playing you'd think "oh well, every 12 year old can do this", but projecting his style of play onto your own pitch as a footballer is a much different story.

  • özil made that turn to perfection.

  • Absolutely beautiful. One play is all you need to see to know that Cruyff was one of the greatest ever to play the game.

  • Damn he got fucked up. Some say that the defender is still looking for Cruyff to to this day.

  • My pe homework was to watch this... Sick1 :)

  • invented??

i saw one clip that pele did this in the 60s

  • @Xpl0dable fuck off Johan invented this and perfected total football

  • @TheMestizoguy are u kidding me?

he did not invented that shit.

  • How can you not like this? He just got diced!

  • johan cruijf is de beste speler van nederland OOIT

  • His grandfather doesn't suck he managed to play professionally at an international stage.

  • OWNED

  • the defender is my grandfather!!! JAN olsson SWEDEN but he get owned, but he said that it was one of the most biggest moments in he life! ;) and we hole the time laugh about it when we talk about it hehe ;)

  • @lixin96 hahaha seriously? that's so cool..you probably talk about football al the time with your grandfather!

  • @Legendaric1 hehe yhe:) he ask who its going for me in the football and he come and look at every match when i play ;)

  • @lixin96 man... lucky bastard!

  • @Legendaric1 haha yhee :))

  • Is that Keith Southern?

  • The player in the blue actually looks in the other direction as Cruyff turns away. Would love to prefect this skill

  • he is a legend.

  • Privileged to see the master at work :)

  • Kus

  • Wow, that is like a crossover in soccer!

  • 41 people got fooled by Cruyff turn

  • 2 players in football history are head and shoulders above the rest and Cruyff is one of them; great skill, dribbler, passer, vision, general. The master of total football, the magician of Ajax, Holland and Barca, he could control a game from the half way line, as well as with great goals and attacking flair.

  • @mizofan true

  • im pretty sure pele did this before cruyff did.

  • @TheDpolenz

i did your mom before your dad did

  • k6c10 - stop dating your hand, you freak! Beckenbaeur himself said Holand should have won in 1974 for reasons "not to do with Johan." Cruyff faked me "so badly I was embarrassed." "Cruyff is the greatest player who ever lived."

    You blow faggot!

  • my 5yo brother can do this. this is not cruyff's turn, everyone does this, duuuuh

  • @Ivan050193 it means cruyf did it first dipshit ...when someone does something for the first time they name it after that person. Do you understand? ja?

  • @CCDevlin you must be quite retarted, aren't you? ofc cruyff didn't do it first, it's so fuckin obvious.

only God knows who had done that turn ages before this motherfucker. it's so fuckin simple to do this shit and i'm 100% sure many many ppl did it before cruyff, but cruyff did that turn many many times so they called that move after hiM. GET SOME BRAIN MOTHERFUCKER!

  • @Ivan050193 ths is what wikipedia says, yes there is even a page called the cruyff turn: The trick was famously employed by Cruijff in the 1974 FIFA World Cup, first being seen in the Netherlands' match against Sweden, and was soon widely copied by other players around the world.[2] It remains one of the most commonly-used dribbling tricks in the modern game.

"First being seen" do you know what that means or are you finally seeing the fact that you are a dipshit?

  • @CCDevlin dude i said many many players did this before him, but noone so as themselves didn't recognize tht as something new, coz they would do it randomly

get that u bitch! and stop being idiot answering every single of my post u cunt

  • @Ivan050193 Ivan, you are 21 years old. How do you know if anyone did the (what is now called) cruijff turn before 1974? ..... do you know how long ago 1974 is? Do you know how primitive football was then compared to today? And you cannot be sure that ppl did that turn, because you have not seen video's or pictures from before 1974 that prove it. If you can find them, give them to me.

  • @Ivan050193 he invented this you ignorant slob

  • @cevapcicimaffia i dont have a clue what you just said

  • cruyff did not invent that, ferenc puskas did that before him

  • he WAS good back there but if you try to image the players that are now playing and those in cruyff's time then johan would've gotten more competition it more diffucult for him to play...

  • It's still a sweet clip after all these years.

  • zie je wel nederland heeft de beste spelers en dat zij wij dus wij winnen wk 2014

  • Iconic. The poor defender Swedish was still looking the wrong way after Cruyff was away. But I suppose he wouldnt have been expecting it.

  • ripped.

  • I seriously doubt if Cruijff actually was the best Dutch player ever. Watch any video of Bergkamp and the results he brought the teams he played in. As an individual he was the best Dutch player ever in my opinion. Cruijff is the better talker. ;) To be honerst I don't know what Beckenbauer is doing in that top 5 list.

  • Pelé es major que Maradona e Beckenbauer

  • only romario was better

  • Never forget PUSKAS and his magic magyars... They were the originators of the "socialist" TOTAL football.. If it was not for the jolt that he gave to the british we would be still seeing a lot of teams playing wih 5 forwards and ZERO tactics... thats why i consider Cryuff's contributions to football as a manager greater than as a player... total football is BEAUTIFUL football

  • done

  • football porn.

  • this 9 sec video worth 1 177 672 views.

  • lol. thats easy greasy. i didn't realise ive made thousands of time cruyff turn even before i know who is this guy

  • well cruyff never won the world cup. bbauer did

  • @Rammsteinn8Italia he even did it as a player, coach and finally managed to get the 2006 world cup to germany... kaiser franz !

  • Nice!

  • must be a johan thing. 1st johan cruyff and now johan elmander xD

  • cryuff turn is the only skill wich makes me look like a decent dribbler hehe, love it.

  • @MMAenthusiastUHHE where the hell is george best in your list??????

  • @hiphopuk123

Because I'm fucking Mexican bro ... and he was champ how many times with Real Madrid? thank you lol

  • @hiphopuk123 I agree, and George Best was on my list. Unfortunately he got distracted in the '60s, by beautiful women and booze, but even so he was still one of the greatest ever. I have heard it said that if George Best had been born ugly, and a few years later, we would not be talking about Pele and Maradona as the greatest ever, but George Best.

  • Haganla un cuadro por DIOS!

  • gracias gracias gracias , desde argentina te saludo, y te agradezco poreste momento magico que compartis

  • It's football's single greatest crime that neither the 74 or 78 Dutch team one the World Cup. Especially 74 with Cruyff though. That team was from another planet and made me start to watch football regularly with the beauty of their play.

  • @shammy001 Yes I agree. It is an injustice that still has not been rectified, and will not be until the Netherlands finally win a World Cup. But Netherlands '74 has influenced football more than any other team in my lifetime.

  • So good he invented his own move. Glad to see he spoke out against the Dutch display in the final. Van Marwijk should be ashamed of himself - his post-match behavior was just as bad as his tactics.

  • @monco66

    dramaqueen

  • Cruyff was a genious, the others only football players

  • 37 people missed the like button.

  • he invented that move? so before him nobody used it?

anyways i think if he woulda won the cup he would be considered as good as maradona maybe

  • It is a joy to watch that Dutch team of '74. Exhilaration. It is almost fitting that they didn't win the world cup of '74. Their football transcended the mundane concerns of winning or losing. It was at a level beyond. They changed football forever, and forever changed those of us lucky enough to have been around at the time and witnessed it.

  • @rodhmu

Brilliantly insightful comment, a magnificent summing up of Holland's overall contribution to world football in the early seventies. They may have failed at silverware level, but their brilliance will live forever in the collective memory of football purists.

  • Cruyff: the king without a crown.

  • Beckenbauer the best?

    Oh, come on!

    Pelé was the best.

Maradona was the second, Beckenbauer the third and Cruyff the fourh.

  • 1 - Pelé

    2- Maradona

    3 - Garrincha

    4 - di stefano

    5 - cruyff

  • 1.BLOKHINE (DINAMO KIEV)

    2.BECKENBAUR (B. MUNICH )

    3.CRUIJFF (F.C.BARCELONA)

  • Cryuff = Genius

Cryuff used his head and let his feet not his hands do the talking, he remains my footballing idol :D

  • Hallo Elly,

mocht u dit zien .. kijk ook naar het aantal views.. hij is net over de 1 miljoen gegaan!

    Roelof

  • Thank God for the Cruyff turn, I use it all the time! lol

best goddam dutch player of all time!

    1. Beckenbaur

    2. Pele

    3. Maradona

    4. Cruyff

    5. Sanchez

  • @MMAenthusiastUHHE

    Beckenbauer was Cruijff's biatch

  • @Roeboe

how was he his bitch? Beckenbaur's team beat Cruyff's team in the world cup final.

  • @Roeboe nah both great players and managers, Beckenbauer won the world cup tho

  • @Roeboe i'm not trying to start some sort of argument but beckenbauer did shut cruyff down in the '74 world cup final. i think cruyff was a better player but beckenbauer was certainly not his "biatch"

  • @Roeboe Kut kaaskop.

  • @Duitslond Bek houwe anaal gefixeerde mof

  • @Roeboe Hahahaha. Nederland is hoort helemaal onderwater te zitten en het gedeelte dat nog boven de zeespiegel zit moet van Duitsland zijn. DEUTSCHLAND WELT/EUROPA MEISTER 2012/2014. Kut Wilders stemmer ahahahaha

  • @Roeboe Beckenbauer had cruyff in his back pocket during that world cup were Germany won.... ' 74

  • @K6C10 holland was way better that world cup moron, germany and beckenbauer had an enormous amount of luck!

  • @avatarjeroen13 nahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh if you win....it obviously wasnt luck

  • @K6C10 LOL cruijff was the man of the pitch! how can beckenbauer had him in his pocket?

  • @moluksefreefighter01 Cruijff was "The Man" well that shows your football knowlage....he was good, but obviously Beckenbauer had him in his pocket in '74 other wise Germany would have lost againsed Holland in that final

  • @K6C10 LOL Franz beckenbauer: Johan cruijff was the better player, but i' ve won a world cup! he said it himself! cruijff was the better player! germany just had a very good and solid team! and we played better in the final of 74! even germans say that! cruijff was the best man on the pitch!

  • @moluksefreefighter01 yeah but he wasnt good enough on that day to win it for holland

  • @K6C10 still he was the best man of the pitch! and the man behind barca's recent best team of the century! cruijff was the man !

  • @moluksefreefighter01 okay! jesus christ! i wasnt saying anything bad about Cruyff, i was just saying Beckenbauer had him under controll in the final!

  • @MMAenthusiastUHHE Maradona 3rd???? I don't get it....

  • @BenzyOliveira

It's pretty straight forward. Beckenbaur and Pelé were better soccer players.

  • @MMAenthusiastUHHE MARADONA IS A DISGRACE TO THE GAME GOOD HANDBALLER THOUGH!

  • @34ytrhtrghrf

The man made magic happen on the pitch though, there's no denying that.

  • @34ytrhtrghrf how is one of the best players ever a disgrace to football?

  • @Joricky12 how can you call cheaters one of the best players ever ?

  • @MMAenthusiastUHHE Puskas should be on that list

  • @MMAenthusiastUHHE how can you forget Marco Van Basten?

  • @OGLOCify Ha ha yes. Or as the immortal Martin Tyler said in his commentary in the Euro '88 final, after Van Basten scored that wonder goal... 'Oh my word, how can you stop Marco Van Basten'

  • @rodhmu exactly mate

  • @MMAenthusiastUHHE forever franz

  • @MMAenthusiastUHHE

    No Zidane ?

  • @MMAenthusiastUHHE Why isnt Zidane or Ronaldo (Brazilian) one even in the list???

  • OWNED

  • ket me say you something its all different generations as example you can not choose zidane and cruyff because its total other game.

    sorry for my language:D

but zidane is mine player. i dont like messi at all :@

  • Idd, Cruyff added more to the game than anyone else, as a player and manager

  • That skill is just not normal.

  • nederlaaand

  • how can you rate players of all differnt eras positions and standards in a defining list??? its bullshit.

  • De Stefano was the greatest ever player

  • Is that Platini defending!!??

  • roeboe i agree with your point.. in this day and age it can't be done.. but you can't not say maradona did not do it for Argentina, Messi has to be a influential figure for Argentina throughout the tournament.. like zidane was for france in 06'

Teams win tournaments, players win games.

  • Its all opinions at the end of the day.. every generation has great players but one stand above the rest, like pele did, like cruyff did, like maradona did, like zidane did and like messi's doing.. in my opninion from what i've seen on videos and clips Messi could be the greatest ever if he can single handedly win argentina a world cup. 1. Mardona 2. ZIDANE (My Generation) 3.Cruyff 4. Messi 5. Pele 6. Micheal Laudrup 7. Platini 8. Bekenbauer 9. Best 10. Van Basten. My Opinion.
  • @Miah5

no player can single handedly win a country a world cup...

How good Messi is/was he still plays in a team

  • @Miah5 I know it's just your opinion but... Pele, 5th? Come one, get real... To consider Maradona better than him is one thing (I don't agree but it's a valid discussion), but Pele in 5th place? Dude...

  • hey, the reason i put pele 5th is he played in the brasilian league all his career oh yeh and that one stint in u.s.a. not disrespecting any of the leagues.. but europe has and always had the best players.. surely if you wana test how good you are.. you got to test yourself agains the best. he was awesome with brazil to no doubt, but he had major players around him, would brazil win the world cup 70" if he wasnt in the team??? would argentina win the world cup 86" if maradona wasnt in the team?

  • @Miah5 no way messi is in top 10, atleast not yet. Surprised i dont see ronaldo and garrincha in ur list.

  • hey thanks for that man.. can't belive i left the Real Ronaldo out, the phenomenon, he definetly deserves to be in that list in place of someone.. Ronaldo is a true footballing great..Youngest ever to win Fifa world player of the year.. i use to adore him at inter.. even though a milan supporter.. maybe thats why :-P . no but really mate must of been an oversight ronaldo definetly deserves his name among the elite, have not really seen much of garrincha to comment on him.

  • @Miah5 Yeah def watch some garrincha, and i'm also a milan supporter and loved watching ronaldo in inter :).

  • thanx man, will try to do so.. p.s FORZA MILAN :-)

  • @Miah5

I'd change the order a bit, plus Messi, Laudrup and (as much as I love him) Van Basten don't belong on the list. Messi hasn't done enough at this point to merit inclusion, while the other two have players better than them one can choose. I am fortunate in that I saw all of the guys you listed play, but I think you could comfortably replace Laudrup with Hagi, Messi with Eusebio and Van Basten with Zico or Ronaldo. Players like Van Basten fit in a team but not in a "best ever" list.

  • your views are taken into account mate, but let me argue that how much have we really seen of eusebio to make a judgement, you are talking about Gheorghe Hagi right? great player indeed but, if ya look at laudrup and how instrumental he was for barca and real and the amount of success he bought to the clubs. during his stay..

Beckenbauer: "Pelé was the best in the 60s, Cruyff in the 70s, Maradona in the 80s and Laudrup in the 90s." :-) , MESSI AT THIS AGE HAS ALREADY DONE SO MUCH WHO ELSE CAN?

  • @Miah5 How did that World Cup thing work out for your anointed 4th best of all time?He looked great against the softer teams but showed he is simply not the single handed world cup winner you believed he was at this age. What the World Cup did show is how vital the supporting cast is for Messi at Barcelona: his fellow midfielders demand too much attention from their opponents and he gets more space and talent to work with. He disappeared against Germany, great players at their peak fight harder.

  • funny guy... i like.. haha maradona was coach.. make pep manager of argentina and he'l win messi a world cup no doubt.. maradona has no clue of tactics or anything come on man.. as great player he was, he took 6 fowards and left cambiasso and zanetti at home? sez much? before leo retires he will be the greatest of all time.. there is no doubt in my mind about that.

  • @Miah5 your opinion sucks ...

so I have taken it way because it is defective and needs repair to be a proper opinion. A message from your friendly opinion-fixing troll :D

    Get back to you shortly

  • are u high?

  • @Miah5 Your opinion sucks... sucks horribly.

So I have take it away from your possession because it is defective and needs repair as it POSES a threat to any ounce of intellectual respect you have.

    No resquest is needed.

This a message from your friendly opinion-fixing internet troll :D

Get back to you shortly :)

  • @Miah5 My top ten:

    1. Chris Waddle

    7. David James

    That's it.

  • entitled to your opinion :-)

  • @Miah5 That's far better a response than people who say "ur opinon suxx". :)

  • sez the guy that put david james and chris waddle pshhh... no english player should ever make it into anybodies top 10 apart from Bobby Moore or Glenn Hoddle.. wasteman..

  • @Miah5 Well, I was half-joking. David James definitely for me though. Why? Because he brought my club FA cup glory, and to see player that I've genuinely seen play and perform well before my eyes is a better way to judge the best in the world IMHO. I've seen Ronaldhino park a free kick into the top corner of the net in stoppage time - that's why I conclude he's one of the best players I've ever SEEN.

  • i saw Cristiano Ronaldo bang in the ridiculous free-kick agaisnt porsmouth couple season back with my own eyes, doesnt mean he's the best i've ever seen.. quality is always there to be seen.. for everyone even if it is on t.v or in the flesh.

  • @Miah5 BTW, Glenn Hoddle? Pshhh...

  • Glenn Hoddle had fantastic technique and was very elegant one of the best england have produce.. and james bringing your cup f.a cup glory, dint howard webb help out there at old trafford? when c.ronaldo was clearly taken out?

  • @Miah5 Hoddle also had excellent singing ability and silly beliefs regarding disabled people - but I digress, I just haven't felt much need to see anything he's done, though I know he played at top level.

I could care less about what people say about that quarter final. Earlier this year Man Yoo beat Aston Villa in the Carling Cup final, and none of the players in red seemed to care about winning it for the millionth time. I view Ronaldo just as equally, I saw him get sent off a while back.

  • why would they its the carling cup? elite players give a damn am about the most elite competitions.. its what sets the men from the boys.. thats why your boys havnt had decent sniff out those competitions and the one's i've chosen have excelled.. to be the best you have to play against the best.. and beat em..

  • @Miah5 Is that why you're a glory supporter then? You've "chosen" a side that very rarely loses. It's like taking a gun to a knife fight. That's very cowardly.

Have you seen much of the concurrent World Cup? Unfancied sides are playing anti-football tactics because they know Spain, Germany, Italy etc are athletically superior, and we have dull 1-0 wins or draws. We could avoid that in league football by supporting the local team who don't have rich owners.

    Winning isn't everything.

  • Glory supporter.. i was in salford manchester? so by right i should support Manchester United, but i support Milan who havnt won an trophy since 07,

of course i've watched the world cup, every football team has it tactics.. u have to adapt to theirs and play your own.. thats what makes teams great, Spain are decent enuf but to mention italy? pshhh.. verry weak team at this moment of time, local team.. narr man, not my fing.. i supported milan ever since i was a kid i love the way the play.

  • @Miah5 I saw Milan fight back from 2-0 down to make it 2-2 against Pompey. What was that you were saying about having a "decent sniff out those competitions" again? You do realise Pompey were in the FA cup final, right? Relegated or not, you picked the wrong side to lambast.

Miah5, they're not tactics. North Korea held on against Brazil for a while by playing five defenders and playing kick and rush football. They only JUST lost. I support underdogs always, but that is not a tactic. It's dull.

  • dude am the 1st to admit milan aint the same side we used to be.. and we deserved to be in the "europa" league that year and probz deserved to lose that game.. but we dint coz of players who have done it before seen it before, am sick of this back and forth comment i have nothing against porsmouth, they wer a decent side.. with harry

of course there tactics the manager set out the tactics to get a point dull or not it almost worked.. i an ideal world everybody would play like Barca
