This is seriously amazing because it's so siimple. I can teach progressions all day long ot my clients. but breaking things down is where I stuggle. Im going to try this tomorrow
@mike7ace@narddog92 Im afraid you are comparing apples and pears. power = Force X Distance / Time. Comparing different sports is just not sensible really. Gymnasts are very very powerful but cant be compared to American football or powerlifters just as they can tbe rated against each other.
why get all personnal? i wasnt comparing myself to anybody but im pretty sure that olympic weightlifters are the most powerful atheletes in the world. I mean they train there CNS so they can lift absurd amounts of weight overhead in minimal time, ok you show me a football player or wrestler at 187lbs cleaning and jerking 215kilos
@mike7ace In the UK they have a competition to determine the overall most athletic sport with high level athletes from many sports. Wrestlers did dominate most of the time. A judo guy did come first one year. The oly lifters also did very will and would even beat the sprinters over 40m sprints. They would also win the highest vertical leap. They have amazing power.
@mjhloveyou Also, what MrTlftlf is talking about sounds like kyphosis and posterior pelvic tilt. I'm not sure if that's your problem, but google "exrx postural deficiencies" and look up those two as well as protracted shoulder girdle. If any of the postural problems seem to fit yours, do the recommended exercises. If you have kyphosis (quite likely), do the exercises in the t-nation link as well, mostly the face pull. If you don't have access to a gym check the bodyweight back exercises on exrx
@mjhloveyou Train your upper back with rows. Google the following phrases and pick the first link, then look for the part in parenthesis.
"t-nation push, ups, face pulls" (read everything if you understand it and do the exercises, especially useful if you gym and bench press more than push-up)
"exrx general back" (all exercises that are overhand grip rows, focus on squeezing your back muscles in the contracted position (when you can't go longer)).
@mjhloveyou this is a problem for alot of people. it's not a problem with your shoulders it's because your back is loose and stretched out and your abs are too tight. look up "mckenzie press up" on here for a good ab stretch and " prone cobra" for a good postural exercise for your back. both of those will help straighten your back allowing your arms to come up higher
even the most crippled immobile person in the world is has 100% range of motion under anesthesia. the body only prevents movement as a startle reflex. train your body that every individual movement of the squat and bone rythym is safe and then your squat will increase. z health is key. google it....
Now don't go asking names because I'm not naming anyone, just rest assured that every world class elite lifter has used them & I have no problem with that for a male.
If you want hip mobility try olympic weightlifting, plain and simple. Oly lifters are the strongest, most powerful, flexible (2nd to gymnist), and athletic athletes in the world GUARANTEED.
Are u serious, power=force/time, the record for the snatch is 213kg (468.6lbs), completed in under a second, thats lifting 467lbs 7+ feet in the air in under a second, not lifting a stone on a block in 20 seconds
Well that may be faster, but Olympic lifters are not physically stronger than a veteran Strong Man competitor. Name me an Olympic lifter who is stronger than Maruisz Pudzianoski.
@Jacobomo LOL steroids dont make you strong like healthy nutrition can! Try it. Get big and buff by just eating 5000 calories/day, 1.5g protein per pound of body weight you have and weightlifting doing only compound excercises (like squats, deadlifts etc....no barbell curls) You will be outlifting all the roid hounds in your gym in under 6 months. Professionals use the juice as a supplement to all of that. But you could get results that are not too much less than theirs without steroids.
@Porojukaha "LOL steroids dont make you strong like healthy nutrition can" ....I'll make sure to let my doc know the next time my steak and rice increases my tesosterone levels 10 fold.
@mylesman99 dude, though roids arent necessary to be a good lifter, basically all olympic class guys have used them at one time or are using them now. Its insanely common.
@mike7ace Amen to that. As true as this is too bad most people are going to get boxed in or will be believe the hype of other less effective programs. Then they say it's too hard. All you have to do...is try. No doubt, it is the most effective training method out there to maximize human performance.
@mike7ace that's the most retarded thing i've ever heard. just because you lift does not mean you're an athlete. powerful? pretty sure football players and olympic wrestlers are more powerful. sure you can lift more weight, but toe to toe you're nowhere near as athletic
@mike7ace how they become they are the most athletics? most lifters are fat and can even swim or run, I would go for MMA fighters as the most athletic, almost all types of sports training are used in MMA
Detecting perfect, legal squat depth for any / all Powerlifting federations is now an exact science using Squat Precision. No more guessing about squat depth while having hundreds of pounds on your back. See a video at benching341.
