  • omg this is awwwwesome!

  • Almost all roads lead to Dave Sardy

  • ....det kan inte bli större en så här....

  • One of the best three pieces ever.

  • I still own a concert ticket of them playing in Doornroosje Nijmegen back in 1994. One of the best concerts I ever saw, although only some people really appreciated this band at that venue. Frontman Dave Sardy was technical engineer of Slayer at the time. Great to see this video!

  • @ramonster1972 ha ha i still own my Pixies ticket from the Brixton Academy in London in Oct 1990...the support was Barkmarket. They rocked...it's now 20 years later and i now think that could've been the best gig i saw in my life

  • I'm a sucker for out of tune guitar harmonies and smart lyrics..Failure,Barkmarket, and quicksand. My cup of tea...Oh yeah and Jesus lizard...all rock

  • wow amazing recording.....choises of guitar sound.......fucking underrated band.....i used to like theier first cd but in italy they were nothing and lost them forever till now....lol they deserve success....i can tbelieve.....i feel like i discovered a new band

  • One great groove after another.

  • The greatest band that never made it to the big time. Perhaps it's better that way. I feel like their music is appreciated by us lucky few. Oh well. Thanks gentlemen.

  • Sweet. I remember Barkmarket playing at a small venue in university town Uppsala in Sweden. Don´t remember what year, probably -94 or something like that. I still hold it as one of the best concerts i´ve been to. All thanks to Anders Zaine, the man who booked them.

  • Great song from an amazing album....why in hell is it not still commercially available? That sucks... :)

  • Great band! I just found 'Easy Listening' in a recordsale. Now I have all 5 Barkmarket albums! Jihaa!!!

  • Awesome band. I think I saw them 3 or 4 times, in Toronto and Chicago. To the person who said it was just pointless dirge, not so! You have to listen to these songs many times to get their structure. There's music you like right away, and then there's music that takes time.

  • I could never understand why they weren't HUGE.

Amazing lyrics, crazy cadenced phrasing, on top of hard-driving rock-n-fucking roll.

  • Perhaps those are the reason they weren't "huge"? I understand tanzarian's comments, but the reality is that this band influenced several "huge" bands, which is one reason they weren't "pointless". When listening to the intro to 'Visible Cow", I've lost track how many bands use that dramatic, dynamic shift shift nowadays- these guys recorded that back in '93/'94. There are tons of elements like that in B-market songs that have bleed their way into contemporary pop music.

  • I miss barkmarket. They were amazing live and recorded.

  • i have some barkmarket vinyl for sale. message me.

  • Yo man...........Barkmarket vinyl, cool. I'll give you 2 guniea's for the lot, and a shiny sixpence for swift delivery. Have we a deal. Incidentially, for a small stipend I would be prepared to be your Barkmarket "Euro" ambassador. Have you ever met Dave? Does he still have the trenchcoat? I've got an idea, we'll do a swap, I get your barkmarket stuff & you get a jesus lizard & buthole surfers 7 inch & Tool's back catalogue.

  • how does a band like this not get famous

  • "There's big money in them fat, black hills, if you know how to smell for it..."

  • "...you can drive home a nail in the sand and brag half deaf til your hands wont stain this brand..."

  • "...as it burns out your manifest grain on these windfall days."

  • "Some old crank on your water thay say, Tills his crop on your pay dirt and wont play...."

  • THIS IS THE GIMMICK

    CITIZEN

  • goddamn its good st see some barkmarket fans kickin about, we are a rare breed my friends, a rare breed. Any english fans please get in touch! this isn't a prejudice, i'm just very lonely on this little island all alone....

  • Hey imiq, could you PLEASE upload the vid for Dumbjaw? Was on YT for a while, but was deleted for some reason.....thx!

  • Crap! I dont have that vid. Hopefully someone who does can let us know where we can view it.

    Sorry Lurch...

  • No biggie......it probably will return to YT eventually!

  • If anyone out there has anything on mp3 from Peacekeeper, can you PLEASE, PLEASE contact me. Peacekeeper the song is AMAZING. Some A-hole stole my Peacekeeper LP from a party I threw last year. I will give my right arm to have those songs back.I can't find them anywhere.

my address is Bonewreck at Gmail. Thanks.

  • this band is one of my all timers. thank you.

  • they've bin all over the globe - played Holland (Rotterdam twice and The Hague)- still fav after all these years

    thanks for posting this

  • Yeah thats the one, give this thread a bump if ya find it.

  • I sure will.

  • Actually...a user by the name of "Spaceship Steve" has put up both "Dumbjaw" and the "Grinder" videos. If for some reason you have trouble finding them(which I doubt you will) they are both in my favorites at the top of the list.

  • about 8 weeks ago i was telling my son of this band, i couldn't find any mp3's or vids ANYWHERE, i tried youtube and emule ect but nothing :(

Then just on the off chance i tried again yesterday, and BOSH theres 2 of my fave vids

    Thankyou

Have ya got the vid to the one that goes like this---- "and the bow begins to break, theres nothing baby feels, from head to heels inside your head, you're dead"

    Can't remember title sorry ;)

  • The song is "Dumbjaw". There used to be a video for it on here that someone had put on....but it disappeared one day for some odd reason.

  • Yeah, me too. Saw them at "Upstairs at Nicks" in Philadelphia. Thought they rocked.

  • thank you!!

  • best band ever ... saw them only once.. live at Jabberjaw

  • I got the pleasure to see Barkmarket live at CBGB's back in the day, and it was one of the most intense shows i've ever seen. One of the most underated bands of the 90's and still resonate today. My green vinyl copy of Peacekeeper is on my wall. :)

  • I'm so freakin' jealous. I discovered them in 1997...right after they broke up. I have LPs of Easy Listening, Peacekeeper, L Ron and my prized possesion: 1-800-GODHOUSE! Where is David Sardy now?! You know what I'm sayin'?

  • Dave Sardy is a producer now. He produced one of the recent albums by 'The Walkmen'

  • No way. Believe it or not, I also have a green vinyl copy of Peacekeeper hanging on my bedroom wall. I've been using that thing for decoration for years. I saw them at "Upstairs at Nicks" in Philadelphia ca. 1994. I thought they were one of the better bands I ever saw.

  • well the grinder video is on dailymotion, just look for it.

    and yeah: great band!

  • I remember seeing "Grinder" on headbanger's ball many years ago as well. My life was never the same.

  • fer god sakes, these guys were so friggin' AWESOME!!!

  • oh please oh please tell me you are planning to upload Grinder from Vegas Throat... that is the video I saw on MTV's Headbangers Ball in my formative years that got me into Barkmarket.

  • thank you thank you thank you

  • do you happen to have any LIVE vids?

  • Aww... Whipping boy... I only had it on an old, often played videocassette in bad quality... oh I love this video! I`m grateful to you for uploading it... awesome
