GOOD NEWS! We got a dog and people friendly drinking water fountain set up in my hometown of Sechelt, BC... I would have loved to buy fountains for everyone but there just wasn't any support for the idea, so I am grateful for at least one :D

@dolcevitausa thanks so much, i think for every photo I took covering community events I took 10 of Tundra LOL as he was always so patiently standing by and I would turn to go take another photo and he just looked so damn fabulous! He was a really big dog, the Veterinarian assured me he was healthy happy and just big boned. He got the best of the best natural dog food and treats :D

Wow that video of your dog tundra is sad I have a 6 year old black lab husky mix and I lover her so much she saved my dads life my dad almost died from a blood clot in his right leg and our dog saved his life I couldent imagine losing my dog. I know that is part of life and tundra is still with u he is watching over still when u are watching a movie tundra is right their at your legs rip please check my videos out

My boy, Willie, is a 12-yr-old Jack. He's starting to act like an old man. Sometimes he doesn't even get up when I come home from work. I hope to have him for years to come, but it's hard to see him getting older. I love him so much.
@Daphydyl my heart sank when I Tundra didn't want to go for walks anymore. Give all the comfort and love you can. I got a nice soft bed and put a heating pad on low on one side. Tundra would shift from side to side depending if he needed to warmth or cool. It don't make it easier though. I am choked a year later with grief. Sending healing thoughts to you and Willie :D
@Daphydyl its so hard I agree Daphydyl keep 'em comfortable and loved. I set up a huge bedding, one side a heating pad on low to scald the skin under a few layers of blankets, so one side was muscle warming relaxing and the other side cooler room temperature. Sending healing hugs and love to you and Willie :D

@CaitlynJohnston Sorry to hear your dog passed away on your way to the vet. Tundra was with me when he died, and I just had to have a knowing that we were together and we had an awesome life together and his last day was very special with a outdoor bonfire, ride home with the car window down. It hasn't helped with the grieving though. I am still devastated.
@CaitlynJohnston perhaps he will come and visit you in your dreams, my dog did this after he passed out if so in your dreams tell him how much you loved him how wonderful was for both of you the time you played together. tell him to save you a spot and to keep and on you if you cross the line as he was a police man :) he must be chasing querubines in heaven dont worry just dont cry in your dream or your dog will surely come back... and you will end like me in a two week drunk anyway
thanks before he died i had 5 dreams of him dieing and the night before you know how when you close your eyes and see blobs of colors well i closed my eyes that night and i saw a 28 and im like what does a 28 have to do with anything and that night he died also very sorry for your loss

I have a brilliant book by Cynthia Rylant called "Dog Heaven." You can find it on Amazon. I highly recommend it.
I buy copies whenever I can find it and give them to folks who've lost their dogs. There's also a similar book about cats.
I keep a copy for myself. When I lose a friend, this book gives me comfort. Perhaps it's a silly story, but it comforts me.
