The seat is bolted to the sled (to the plate with all the holes in it) and remains rigidly attached throughout. The plate represents the car, so in this simulation the car is getting hit from the side and moving a lot; the seat stays rigid in the car.

It doesn't look like his seat was even bolted down. I hope my seat never moves around like that if I get hit hard?

dosn't really matter, they're testing the HANS device... in a race car your strapped so tight in you're a part of the car anyway, unlike a road car
