@majorl311 The reason for that is that demons are involved - oppressing the person, and fanning the flames of their evil desires. The person is not necessarily possessed, although they could be if they were not Born Again. If a Born Again person gets such a hangup, it is oppression - demons are influencing the mind. In possession the demons are in the person's spirit. Get rid of the demons, and the temptations are much easier to resist!

I suspect that most people who call themselves Christian are not Born Again, and are thus just playing church, and no more on their way to heaven than any other worldly person. Very few churches preach what Jesus said - that unless a person becomes Born Again he CANNOT see the Kingdom of God. Then some churches that do teach it know nothing about casting out demons!

Really the only comparison is the part about the matrix being not the real deal, because eternity is the real deal. Our physical universe will pass away some day. I presume you are speaking of the devil and his demons, right? The devil has the right to be here, because Adam gave him that right by turning over his dominion of the earth to satan, when Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden. The devil is like the lease holder of the earth. That's why prayer is necessary, because God is not going to tread on the devil's territory unless he has permission from us praying and asking Him to intervene. At least that's the way I understand it.
