  • This used to be my favorite spot until I went to work for them as a Conductor.

  • @8747csx Do you work out of Bellevue? If so It'd be nice to see you sometime on the train! Are there any better spots?

  • @gtw4918 No, Oakwood yard in Melvindale, Michigan (Detroit). I used to drive up to Bellevue to due a lot of railfanning. We run from Detroit parallel to Westbound I-94 to Fort Wayne and Peru, Indiana. This is a boring line! We sit at Butler most of the time waiting on trains out of Elkhart. Bellevue is the best spot for NS because you have trains coming at you from all directions. I like Fostoria better though! When you join a railroad most of your time will be spent working and sleeping.

  • I just got stoped by an NS train out here north of Ft Worth Texas pulling a Roadrailer consist earlier I was at a gas station and heard a K5LA horn so I drove over to the crossing and saw it pass roadrailer had a facility in Saginaw Texas so I see NS alot now down here on BNSF and sometimes thse older units lead the trains and I also have a runthrough from Atlanta on KCS a regular freight and sometimes NS units lead it too I see them at a place called Metro Jct

  • @gaycowboy31 I would put it in the bed of the truck. Hiding it would make it sound different, and you'd have to spread out the bells.

  • @gtw4918 oh trust me I refuse to hide it to please Anyone I am Not Mounting it in the undersite of the truck it will be on the roofline or Nowhere at all I may hwever in order to save my almost 30 year old or older horn put it back in my trainroom with the other railroad items and Santa Fe RS3L and buy a newer one in the kits sold online they offer P5 horns or K5LA horns which I understand to be authentic and still sold to railroads just newcast I am hunting the RS5T now and I might modify it

  • great video I have one of those old NS P5 whistles I am in the process of building a mount on the top of my truck so I can mount it in the corrrect place on the roof if I can finish getting all the parts to make it sound right when I blow it all the truck shops around here sell those toy horns with th electric button me i have the manual grahm white valve from a locomotive too I am working on building a spot in my truck for it I believe mine is off a C39-9 as well the horn is

  • @gaycowboy31 Aw cool!!! Please send me a video when it's finished!

  • @gtw4918 I will try to make a video of it when its completed the boys at the truck shop did not believe it was a real train horn untill the kid got the hose for the shop air and put it on the horn with the shop doors closed they all went running in disbelief they are now convinced its Real LOL Loud as Hell just how I want it the are still saying there toy horns in the shop will keep up i just laugh because I only want the real thing and the real manual valve blowing it the only way the RR way

  • @gtw4918 I many not got to legaly mount my P5 on my truck not sure yet I found out if I get pulled over they could arrest me if I dont show bill of sale for owning the horn I bought it from a hobbyshop years ago closeing so I cannot find the old recipt for it I was told to go buy a train horn online from a company selling newcast horns but to me its not the same sound they have a P5 or K5La to choose from than they claim it would be legal if I hide the horn and not display it on top of my truck

  • @gaycowboy31 Haha! They sound better when you use levers too.

  • @gtw4918 oh yes definatlly i have 2 horns my P5 off NS and an old Santa Fe RS3L I want the RS5T but I havent found one yet hell I wish I had a boiler on my truck I would mount a steam locomotive whistle but not on that Damn air people are doing nowdays realsteam only for that LOL that gives me a crazy idea but steam locomotive whistles dont sound good on air wonder if I could build a boiler in my barn shop LOL not likelly I will stick to a train horn oh well LOL

  • Nice. I love to see "Tophats" as leading units. Norfolk Southern very rarely sends "Tophats" as leading units through here in Culpeper, VA. I see them mostly as trailing units. Saw one the other day as a leading unit, but didnt have my camera. =( Lol.

  • Awesome! First video ive seen of the real thing!
