  • Nothing is secure. There's always a way in.

    I like the illustrations, though.

  • cool

  • Because Windows is a more widespread and profitable operating system the virus developers target it to make money.

  • Microsoft Windows 7 = very bad security even on any security program, Apple Mackintosh = ok security, Linux and Ubuntu = Great security, Chrome OS = security you can't even think about. It's just that amazing.

  • @715157125jason Oh god, you've gone full retard.

  • @715157125jason Windows in itself isn't insecure. It's the users stupidity that makes it exploitable. Macintosh is a unix based operating system similar to BSD & Ubuntu is just a bloated Linux flavor. If anything Linux is far more insecure than Windows due to it being open and allowing it's user to do anything they wish to do.

  • @1waitandbleed1 No it's because the more people that use a certain opperating system the more viruses are created.

  • @715157125jason Congratulations, you've just proven his point. Because Windows is the most popular, more viruses are targeted at windows' users. No-one's going to make a virus for a certain OS, if only a few people might have the OS, when there are millions of people using a different OS.

  • 1. you cant play games

    2. you can't put disks in

    3. what if you had only one tab open and it crashed, how would you get out of that!???

  • Okay, so, question. What if a virus got into the software that checks the system files? Wouldn't that screw over pretty much the entire computer? The comp thinks everything is okay, so it just keeps doing what it does. Then, the virus could inject malicious code through the backdoors in the system, which are no longer secure....... Then, since it's 'not a computer' so to speak, there would be no way to just put in a new, fresh drive or something...... That doesn't seem to secure there......

  • @IkerThunder yes you can put it back fresh ... diden't you saw the video?

  • @BehelitOutlaw But what if the hardware/software is deteriorated to the point where you are unable to get online to restore the system? Just wondering.......

Does google charge a 'support fee' to re-install the system? :3

  • So I have to deal with updates and downgrades every time I boot, even Vista was better than this.

  • If you transcribe audio, you see that the man is laughing at his data set.

  • so basicly the reason minecraft cannot be played on a chromebook because minecraft is a sandbox and you can't play in a sandbox in a sandbox. OH MY GOD IT ALL MAKES SENSE!

  • @Red98Yoshi SANDBOXCEPTION!

  • Ha, just read the Verified Boot section on the Chromium website....

still, WAY to many ways to steal your information.

  • A new computer doesn't stop phishing though. -_-

  • The bad side of this is that the separate processes use more memory, if you open 20 tabs, you will get slowdowns...

  • No such thing as an unhackable system.

  • I don't think people are ready for this kind of generation. But i don't really care, because i am.

  • THANK GOD, A COMPUTER FOR PORN!

  • Search keywords: Verified Boot, backups

Search results: antivirus program, laptop, hard drive

    Chrome O(OOOP)S

  • What if I download an application? Oh wait, I cant?!

  • When will they have a chrome boor the illegal stuff!

  • look at the website called Puppies Puppies Puppies xD

  • Because it's Linux!

  • What if:

-The site itself downloads trojans on your chromebook?

-Crashes your chromebook by using advanced technology?

-Corrupts and infects the OS and all backups and blocks access to the cloud?

    Then you're screwed.

  • @Jasperfritse ...Yeah, but thats 'Advanced Technology'. Although, they most probably have engineers who have a backup set with them which they can simply install onto your computer, unless viruses just 'block' it. THEN you're screwed.

...Although, whenever has that happened, right?

  • no offense google but this computer is shitty!!!!

  • Google = Love

  • Everyone who know something about computer can say that this is not a OS at all, but this is the same browser of the chrome for windows that works without any OS. When you open a page in the chrome browser you can see separate process on the task manager too!

  • linux is just as secure and is superior to chrome

  • @TheMsdos25 but chrome uses the google primary colors. So how can your "linux" you speak of compete with THAT?

  • @IamTheMaestroh chrome cant install applications and need an internet connection to function. and i discovered that chrome is a failed attempt at ripping of linux. chrome OS is no competitor to Ubuntu or mac

  • Why are people retarded enough that they need this amount of being watched over?

  • Chromebooks aren't for everyone. People who steal music and movies, child molestors, hackers, illegal porn viewers, or anyone else participating in illegal activity this isn't for you. For everyone else this is an excellent product!

  • @edwardwhood soooo, no one?

  • @edwardwhood lol everybody "steals" music and movies

  • great, now make a version of Chrome OS With a Desktop

  • Category: comedy? Why does it say that this video isn't funny atleast I found it wasnt

  • this begs the question... why doesn't windows internet browsers do this? maybe they can't.

  • So if I want you use skype, live messenger or anything else... is it possible from the web? with all the features?

  • @vinizan It seems to be. There are apps for anything.

  • Only interuptet sound

  • Hey, Chromebook. I'm a PC.

  • AMAZING!

  • @daazn123 Windows has been sandboxing for years. Since Vista actually. Sandboxing can be done through the HTML code on the site, not mattering which browser is used. The 'iframe' tag to be exact. So what is ChromeOS? It's a half hearted rip off of JoliOS and JoliCloud.

  • puppies puppies puppies!

  • Thanks for telling me google your secret plan, Next step. Hacking Chromebook.

  • @TGBNation Challenge accepted!

  • What font was used in this Video in the 'And what's really great?' title?? pls reply

  • Unless this Chromebook has a super version of the Chrome browser, isn't Sandboxing what Chrome itself does in any other OS?

  • @JunkRulesHinerd Chrome is (partly) using the built in sand box ability of Windows Vista and 7. Don't know how they get that to work in Linux, because I can not find it documented, only vaguely commented.

  • @JunkRulesHinerd no chrome does it partly but the browser can still become corrupted if the malware well say its too malicious it would break through the sandbox

  • ok macs dont get viruses ethier and a mac is way more powerful so whats the point in buying this when u can buy mac :)

  • @OnlineAOEmaster Why buy a Mac when you can get a PC?

  • @PorygonzFlipnote Because Pc's are slow, and crash, and they don't have features and always get infected and are so crappy to the point that people would rather use a linux!

  • @TheIronRelic I have a PC and it works just fine. It does everything I want it to do and more. Some things not even Mac/Linux (because MacOS is based on Darwin, a modified BSD) can do.

  • Comment removed

  • Ok but i still want to download programs i don't want an app for everything, also there are many things which apps can't do.

  • Verified boob ?! O.o

    xD

  • The other google video says "Doesn't need viruses protection" then this video says it has virus protection and does a "Verfified Boot".. Great marketing google. Take your lies elsewhere.

  • @danpluso how is that a lie? they are saying you don't need to buy Virus Protection "software", in order to stay protected. They already have it built in. Verified Boot would be something you wouldn't see, and would only see, if there is a problem. its just like windows Hard Disk scan if your computer crashes. don't complain about something in placed to HELP you...

  • @ballinboi3546 They never said you don't need to buy it.. They said it is not NEEDED. Virus protection is not needed with this devices but we give you virus protection to protect you from viruses. Do you see what I am getting at. They lie when they say "virus protection is not needed" because if it really wasn't needed they wouldn't include it with the product.

  • this would be a gaert netbook if it oley cost about 200 or 240$. but this is just a netbook for thos people that just go online, beside look at the people that still have computers that have windows 95 or 98 with dial-up internit just to chat and e-mail

  • Go to youtube(dot)com/cosmicpanda to see YouTube in the future!

  • chrome-ի առավելություններից մեկը

  • Amazing

  • Okay what is Chromebook:

This is Notebook from Acer and Samsung with Google Chrome browser (they say it's OS.... nevermind). He didn't have:

    - Messengers (Skype, ICQ)

    - Photo/Video Editors (Photoshop, AE, Vegas)

    - Games (Yeah who need games!)

    - Desktop with flashy icons

    - BIOS (for HAWDCORE MAN!)

    - Anivirus

    - Download Mananger of P2P clients

It's just a notebook with browser. And without internet IT'S NOTHING! Who buy it for 500$??

  • problem is chromebook is too expensive. lower the price first.

  • Quite tempting...

  • No wonder when i make 3 tabs and i check Windows Task Manager, it shows 3 chrome.exe! Epic feature!

  • @gunnery18 but it takes up a shitload of RAM

  • @gunnery18 Me too

  • @gunnery18 main reason why i use firefox

  • This feature is already in Chrome Browser :P SO, I don't need Chromebook :D

  • @SOF006 EXCEPT, if your OS is messed with, you have to fix it yourself.

  • @Xcomputergeek564X Well thats fine. If that happens to me all I do is reinstall Windows. Everything I own which is important is stored on an external hard drive. :)

  • @SOF006 What about your programs? D:

  • @Xcomputergeek564X I install all my programs to my external hard drive also. So if I want to access one I just open up the program file and run the exe file :D

  • @SOF006 Ah, but you're forgetting Registry entries... You will have problems. :) I suggest finding portable versions of the applications. :)

  • @Xcomputergeek564X Ah but you see... I don't need them. Ive been doing this for years. I always install my programs to my ex hard drive. I know it works because I reinstall Windows frequently (because I like doing it, its a habit).

  • @Xcomputergeek564X Because there's like, you know, totally no way to save the changes an application makes to the registry in a little file that you can run whenever you need to re-install the application.

    ... oh, wait.

  • @Huzegun Wait... There's something like that? NOOB ALERT xD

  • @SOF006 I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if everything you own is stored on an external hard drive, there is a good chance your hard drive could be infected (if your computer is then it is almost certain!) it's best to keep a back up of everything important, but just having it all on a hard drive is not so safe as you might think, all that means is when you finish re-installing windows and plug in the HD you have the virus/malware ect again...

  • Erh... If the sustem is corrupt, then how can I download a known good system from the web.

  • @MsPwain hidden system restore folder that cannot be accessed. Even you. Bit like Windows 7's system restore feature. If Windows 7's system files have been tampered with, it starts system restore the next time you boot and repairs missing or corrupt files. Only thing which is different in googles version of this is the "download from cloud" feature.

  • iCloud stole Chromebook's cloud!!!

  • am i high? or the subtitles are in German? xD

  • @SheyGaGaVEVO

    Dutch :)

  • "I'm a Chromebook. And he's a Mac."

Sorry Mac, but even you don't have a forcefield and protects me from lasers.

  • @RobloxianMario lol Thumbs Up

  • Finally, a computer Google can track everything you do legally.

  • why did they use the word cloud? Now they sound like they are tying to be like Apple. :((

  • @gri3go

Apple has not invented clouds ...

  • Comment removed

  • @gri3go You DO know that this was made BEFORE iCloud release... right?

  • Lol... puppies

  • sandbox? wtf

  • @Eragon86micky Sandbox, while it sounds like soothing that belongs in a preschool playground, is actually a technical term meaning a restricted virtual environment. Sandboxing allows the site do do whatever it wants inside it's own area. Not only dose Chrome OS have sandboxing but the chrome web browser for Windows, Mac and Linux has Sandboxing . It's not totally unbreakable, but along with Google's verified boot process and read only OS it eliminates the need for virus protection.

  • youtta notebook

  • However, when using a chromebook, beware not to touch the electronic sheilding bubble around it. It might give you a small electronic shock, and take away all of your energy to keep itself running. Next: A chromebook robot that locks you up in it's own electronic shield. You'll never get out of the house again.

  • not 720p? Your google for fucks sake. :|

  • I saw PUPPIES

  • /watch?v=i_T6n2tz8Qg funny parody.

  • /watch?v=i_T6n2tz8Qg funny parody

  • This dosent have a virus because This os is soo sucky that no one uses it

  • @daniellee003 It doesn't get viruses because it's Linux with a verified boot system that checks the whole OS

  • /watch?v=i_T6n2tz8Qg parody of this

  • meh... its not so much the hackers to worry about... its the US Government

  • I love you google, I mean SKYNET :-)

  • Everyones data in one place! Great target for hackers. NOT SAFE

  • @alexmodellvideos /watch?v=i_T6n2tz8Qg youll like this

  • nice now i wont need to partition my hard drive just to run ubunto ;) thanks google then i wont need to buy a tablet.

  • its hacked

    :p

  • @Benzor1001 /watch?v=i_T6n2tz8Qg

  • @lschezr It can do more then a chrome book, but I agree Ipads are a waste of money (I own one)

  • this seems like a way for you to put all of your information on the internet

  • This is really stupid :s

  • Sure Google! I'll spend $500 on a laptop that can't download things, run software, or do anything useful! Who cares if the net books out there do more cause Googles going to give me 100mb of data a month! how generous!

  • @ArttraTainment Where did you find the pricing for the chromebook? I've heard it to be $200 or $300.

  • @liemnlime89 Look up "Google Chromebook" first link, The ACER is 350$ i think and the samsung one is 450$ , Expensive .. yes, They are new products, Give them some time since people like myself want a 300$ price line.

  • @ArttraTainment Um you can download stuff online onto your netbook onto the SSD, Software ? Why would you need software if you can use a web app that can do the same thing and not require you to update it ? Or anything useful ? and what is "useful" to you hm ? The point is, If it does more and you dont need it then why have it ? I had microsoft office on my PC for 10 years and i never needed it so why have it ? Jeez your comment is nothing but pure blind hate.

  • @MiguelAMX1 It does more you say. Define more, by more do you mean won't be able to download games or software (except from there small app store) I won't be able to play my games off steam or and other pc games. And I need to use software because Google Docs sucks balls compared to Microsoft Office. Plus for the same price I can get a net book that can work offline and do acctual work (and games). What are the advantages of a Chrome Book again?

  • @ArttraTainment Downloading games isnt the basics of considering a pc. Why do you need software when you have apps ? Apps = Software, I agree at times software is better but apps are catching up. You wont be able to play games ? Thats YOU not everyone in the world. You need to use software ? Fine, Use a PC not chrome. They have specific goal in mind and even said it since the start. "Chrome is for people who use the web" What are the advantages ? apparently not to you. But for me its all i need.

  • @MiguelAMX1 I agree that games arnt all to consider (though for most a large factor). Apps though -even though they are getting better- will never rival actual software. You will never be able to download something as good as flash or photoshop. Anyway why should I sink $500 into a chrome book when I can get a netbook for the same. Or if you just want to surf internet then get an android tablet with flash and a good appstore.

  • @ArttraTainment Because an andriod is for cell phones or 3g tablets sir :) Chrome OS is for netbooks with a keyboard. Work gets done on Chrome OS not a tablet, I cant imagine typing on a XOOM. Also chrome has free updates and it will stay like this for however long it will be. Google wont charge for Chrome. Windows .. id have to buy that every 2 years and ive never use some software like Office, I mostly used the pc for internet and some games.

  • @MiguelAMX1 I couldn't have sad it better myself and i work in I.T. for a living, and beta test for both Google and Microsoft. Goodbye Microsoft 2012 is the year of change in the technology market!

  • NOTHING can go wrong! You're perfectly safe from everything bad out there! BUT, if something does go wrong, we can fix it. Just in case. You're perfectly safe, though. No worries! No really. Safe.

  • Pretty good, so the OS is free

    ?

  • @antony9721 i Think so well i was testing the beta and it was free but why the hell would you want this is so pointless you cant do anything

  • @antony9721 Yes Chrome OS is completely free, When you buy a Chromebook you buy the hardware, The OS is free just like any other google product !

  • Strange Cartoon Guy Typing on TrackPad on 1:11

  • not liking it, we have to stop google, he cant own my internet, our internet, please wake up!!!, he is not your friend, he has all that cool stuff because he buys it cheap from the people who dont stand a chance on their own, because you never give them a chance, its not the biggest because he deserves it, its easy when you have all that money, and it has all that money not because he deserve it, its because you give him the monopoly, please stop it, no one ever must have that kind of control

  • @samuraiburro ...k, are you seriously addressing the COMPANY known as Google as "he"? You think Google is one guy?

  • I love it, but I want to know when it will be avaible in México?, when chromebook will sell here?

  • so much porn

  • Are you...god?

  • OK This officially has got me hooked... AWESOME

  • This looks kinda...brilliant

  • Same thing in Linux Google!

  • you can do everything, unless you don't have internet. Hmmm...

  • @drake1636 They added many offline features that most people use netbooks for anyways (email clients, offfice apps or music player for example), but i agree, there are some limitations in that sense.

  • Comment removed

  • i might keep my laptop i have now, buy the chrome book and designate it as a porn only computer =D

  • Comment removed

  • you mean i can look a porn and not get infected by malware SWEET!

  • Why is this in the Comedy category? Where is the humour?

  • @Tr1963Rh4pPy google's laughing at how at least half the comments are about adult films.. that's why it's in the comedy section ^.^

  • not a single virus will be made for the chromebook OS

  • This is just a linux with chrome all over the screen.

  • Why isn't this netbook called the Google Pornbook?

  • i love bare bones applications/computers. nothing but a browser and soem simple programs. i love it.

  • OR you can just use Mac !

  • @falconexe The only reason macs don't get malware is because they take up too little of the market to take hackers time. In actuality it's just as easy to hack a Mac as it is a PC.

  • @theterible3 well, either that, or Mac is safer :)

  • @falconexe Mac OS X is essentially UNIX software with Apple hardware.

Anyone with a remedial knowledge of how UNIX works can create malware for a Mac.

  • Puppies Puppies Puppies

  • Rubbish.

An iPad functions exactly the same without the tacky Samsung design and shit keyboard.
