nice video, thanks for sharing . heres a plan view of our latest mobile chicken coop as close to free range as you can get,,, see our channel for plans,,,,many thanks
I just stepped on my rhode Island red. I am hurt because I had to put her in the ground. Shit she was 3 days old. It seems like everything dies around me......
I've done that too, and felt the way you did. But after several years of this, I've come to know two facts about chickens: they lay eggs and they die. When I get a new order of day olds, I just expect that three will die of no particular reason, the hawk will get a couple before they lay, I'll step on one or two, the dogs will get a few . . . If 12 of 25 reach adulthood, that's a good yield. In other words, it happens to us all.
Where did you get your plan for your coop? Did you make it up or get a blueprint from somewhere? I'm looking at getting 3 hens or so and your coop looks great!
This is really useful in the campaign to convince hubby keeping chickens might work; great. But did you but a flat-pack coop or design it yourself? Hope the chooks are keeping well.
im building one to the design of yours for my 2 kids hope it looks as good as yours neat design man if you could send me any plans or tips please feel free thx for the vids man good luck with ya chicks too..
I thought you were going to fence the entire grassy area for the chickens... Did you make such a large grassy space so that you can shift the coop from time to time? I'm confused....
We have never seen a fox in the back garden, but we have in the street out the front, so they are around! It is hard for them to get in the garden as we are in a mid terraced house and there is an 11 foot wall at the end of the garden. To get in they would have to jump over about 10 of our neighbours fences. I don;t rule out the possibility but it has not happened yet.
It must stink in there with no ventilation!

Why not put a plywood floor underneath? Then you would have total security. You could let them out during the day into a portable fenced in area.

Great job. We've seen many a chicken coop in our work...yours is one of the better plans.
And your chicken is so much smarter than ours...we're still trying to get ours to speak a human language. How did you succeed?

Haha, I wasn't expecting to see the Guru again. The design is pretty neat. Do you get many foxes in your back yard?
