the funny thing about forza 3 is that in season play its all legal reacing through the circuits. but when you go on multiplayer you find people with pimped out and tuned street cars all speeding across the circuit. god i love the customisation in this game instead of 400 standard cars you can literally create over 1000.
Forza is beautiful because of it's community. It is an incredible game as evidenced by it's consistently high review scores and sales, but whereas most FPS games are too widely played and competitive to truly foster a community, Forza's community is small enough that with the right amount of work or skill, you can become recognised among the community. The community is the main reason (along with the physics, of course) that I've been playing Forza since FM2's release, and no other Xbox game.
Hooray for being a PS3 and Xbox owner, and being able to scoff at people who don't understand that every console is good in its own rights, and Forza, is one for the xbox.
I respect GT5 BUT i was really very disappointed with the aesthetics/visuals because I thought it would be the redeeming factor. Looks to bright and saturated for me. The grass looks painted and the road surface looks unrealistic. It's like GT4 2.0. I prefer my "Forza 2 2.0"
@guayakill well thats depends if you enjoy realistic racing, like forza 3 is realistic but split second is not, but forza games are the most realistic games, but i dont find them as fun or exciting.

Okay I know GT5 got worse reviews, but it has had A TON of major awesome updates in just one month. Fixing things, adding features, it's amazing. Both games are incredible stop being fanboy assholes.
Forza 3 has better results than GT5 on almost every fucking review. It's not just the fans, but the specialists telling you that Forza 3 is BETTER than GT5... just accept it.

@duvillas If you think about it... The reason that most of the newer reviews of GT has been abit mediocre is the fact that the series has improved so little. GT5 has a better simulation of the driving (in my oppinion), but the menues and other parts of the game tends to be a little bit lacky. The game also gets hated on alot for having a weak damage model. So you can see why the reviews lack. As a simulator on the racing track I would have chosen GT though.
@skittnazzz I know that. I actually love GT4 and the thing that really pissed me off was the fact that GT5 is just like GT4 with more content. It would've been an awesome game for PS2, but knowing the absurd power of PS3, GT5 is just too far away from the lowest expectations. Few weeks ago I was still wondering about which console to get and GT5 was just the reason for me to choose X360.
forza 3 includes customization, better crash effects and better enviornments, which fits nowadays gamers, and the game itself is easier to me. if you like racing games, but not a big fan of cars, fm3 is your game.
gt5 includes better driving physics, more cars and better car details, which fits car enthusiast. if you are a car enthusiast and knows much about cars, gt5 is your game.

I want a game where you can upgrade such things as speed brakes handling by buying upgrades for parts of your car and I want to be able to make custom paint jobs with some preset shapes. the only good thing about forza motorsport is the custumization. the steering is just worse than horrible. ive seen better damage effects in arcade games and all you do is race on pavement. thats it. just different raceways, you cant get offroad cars or use motorcycles. if you want to see what racing should be like download the quick and free GRID or DiRT 2 demos from the xbox live marketplace.

@Blueball0120 I'm a giant fan of GT (1 - 4), and more recently, Forza 3, but I think that if the dlc has to be paid for, Forza is probably better value for money. Reviews say the GT5 is greatand probably better than Forza, but it lacks the premium cars, and the cars follow STRICT racing lines. So if we'd have to pay for the dlc pack, I'd say Forza is better value.
@Potguy2 Strict racing lines ? you mean AI ? people who say AI still drives on tracks on GT5 are so damn blind, since they do overtake each others constantly, and unlike in Forza, some races are really hard, in Forza you hardly see AI anymore after 1st lap, so that isnt much challenging at all, tho Forza 3 is great game but in overall it is just like GT series, racing, money grinding, more racing, grinding and LB cars dominating Online racing yea, great :P
i am GT fanboy since day one, i've bought the new GT5, i like it, it suits me, but to be honest i think Forza has already overcome GT, the game looks really great. The only thing that keeps me from buying an Xbos360 (besides the money) its Xbox gamepad, i'm so used to the ps3 gamepad that i think i would never get used to a new pad. sorry me english,im from Portugal.

Forza 3 has Pathetic Simulation Physics, If you want real sim, get nice PC and buy games such as GTR 2, LFS, or IRACING....If you are a poor teenager get an used copy of this POS.
i love racing games. ive had a ps3 since day 1 (free online). iv just bought gt5 and love it. i am by no means a "fan boy" (dont even know what that is to be honest). just a regular dude trying to decide whether or not its worth another console plus the game.. any thoughts? it looks really good

Seriously thinking of trading in GT5 and getting this again, waited years for GT5 and so dissappointed with how cobbled together it is. Of the 1000 cars ingame 800 are 'standard' models with no cockpit view (the thing i loved the most :/) and are actually models imported form GT4! Seriously not even polished just chucked in along with some tracks! what were they doing for 5 years???!!
@NamelessMonkey media hype, and money making. The way I see it, is that consoles are too popular. Look at some really good PC games(No I am not trying to bash consoles) like S.T.A.L.K.E.R., or Sid Meier's civilization, the company's behind them aren't trying to fulfill massive hype, or make the best selling video game, or make another dumbed down, bottom of the line overrated shooter, they are trying to make a great game that will last.
@NamelessMonkey I know how you feel. Cockpit really made you feel part of the game inside the car which is what a simulator is supposed to be about!! and because of this I kind of refuse to use standard cars. (which look terrible for 2010 gaming seriously.).
Gt5 has took so long to come out its actually outdated itself. I can even notice some objects on some of the tracks look abit PS2 style.
Even though the improved graphics were great, I was actually overall disappointed in Forza 3. This is supposed to be a sequel, but it just seems that they just repackaged with Forza 2 with some improved graphics. Also, Forza 3's crash damage seems worse than Forza 2's! Also, what's up with all these stupid arcade elements. Rewind features and ALL of these assist? Forza 2 was great and I was hoping for Forza 3 to be great, but it just wasn't that great. Atleast I still got GT5 to look forward to.
i really wish i could get this view in GT5....the above car view is too high up. That's my biggest complaint about it. I don't know why they wouldn't make more options, oh well.

@scoot24925 If xbox 360 is so shitty of a console then why does it hold the same and sometimes better FPS (frames per second) then ps3? If you play a game that is on both systems, they play exactly the same, except 360 controllers actually fit adult hands (man hands) unlike the ps3.
@TheAmericanUhate In my opinion, the fat PS3 was just superior to the Xbox 360 in almost every way. Better made, more reliable, more quiet, and more powerful. However, the Xbox 360 is pure gaming console and it's much easier to develop for. I myself had both consoles and they both died on me, but after seeing how GT5 is, I think the Xbox 360 is going to be my first repurchase over the ps3. When you look at 4-5 years development time with this it makes you wonder what Forza 3 could have been.....
@CHRISGT34 Well xbox has fixed the issues with reliability with the slim. Sound from the console has never been an issue cause generally when you are gaming you have the sound on so why worry about what you can't hear lol. Plus, the sound issue was also fixed with the new slims. The only thing that ps3 does have over xbox is the blu-ray. Which blu-ray is kind of a great thing at a bad time, everyone just got there DVD collection good then blu-ray comes, who really wants to switch over lol.
@TheAmericanUhate Yeah the slim does look great, and it was a good move. And microsoft has the 3 year free warranty which is simply amazing. I'm also one of those people that have almost zero DVDs, so blue ray is pretty much a no brainier for me, but still I me being such a car nut, I think that Forza 3 is more enough reason for me to buy a 360. The sound of GT5 just kills the immersion for me.
@CHRISGT34 There is a few things that's just killing GT5 for me, like having 'un-lockable' damage that is mostly only cosmetic/visual. Then the 800 PS2 cars and half the tracks are all PS2 imports as well. Also the paper style crowds & trees. Then driving line that looks like it's from the 90's. Also how it sends a huge rain of sparks when you put a plastic front bumper to a plastic rear bumper that shouldn't even spark in the first place lol. Lack of damage really kills all forms of racing.
@TheAmericanUhate If they took as long as polyphony did making GT5, how would have been too much to for us gamers to handle. It would have been completely jaw dropping. But at the same time, I have yet to try the new slim 360. It looks very promising. But at the end of the day, I will have both of the consoles because I don't have fanboyism in me. lol
@CHRISGT34 As far as forza and if they had spent a little more time on it, yeah I think it would have been a lot better graphics and physics wise. GT5 actually took close to 6 years development where Forza took a little less then 3. We will have a new forza out sometime next year from the rumors, but chances are it might be delayed until 2012 but still, I'm sure we won't see another GT series until sometime in 2016 or later lol. The only thing that keeps me from ps3 is the tiny kids remotes.

The game also gets hated on alot for having a weak damage model. So you can see why the reviews lack. As a simulator on the racing track I would have chosen GT though.

@skittnazzz I know that. I actually love GT4 and the thing that really pissed me off was the fact that GT5 is just like GT4 with more content. It would've been an awesome game for PS2, but knowing the absurd power of PS3, GT5 is just too far away from the lowest expectations. Few weeks ago I was still wondering about which console to get and GT5 was just the reason for me to choose X360.

forza 3 includes customization, better crash effects and better enviornments, which fits nowadays gamers, and the game itself is easier to me. if you like racing games, but not a big fan of cars, fm3 is your game.
gt5 includes better driving physics, more cars and better car details, which fits car enthusiast. if you are a car enthusiast and knows much about cars, gt5 is your game.
i, as a gt5 fan, agrees with the result that fm3 got higher score then gt5, but can fm3 stop teasing gt fans?

the only good thing about forza motorsport is the custumization. the steering is just worse than horrible. ive seen better damage effects in arcade games and all you do is race on pavement. thats it. just different raceways, you cant get offroad cars or use motorcycles. if you want to see what racing should be like download the quick and free GRID or DiRT 2 demos from the xbox live marketplace.

@Blueball0120 I'm a giant fan of GT (1 - 4), and more recently, Forza 3, but I think that if the dlc has to be paid for, Forza is probably better value for money. Reviews say the GT5 is greatand probably better than Forza, but it lacks the premium cars, and the cars follow STRICT racing lines. So if we'd have to pay for the dlc pack, I'd say Forza is better value.

@Potguy2 Strict racing lines ? you mean AI ? people who say AI still drives on tracks on GT5 are so damn blind, since they do overtake each others constantly, and unlike in Forza, some races are really hard, in Forza you hardly see AI anymore after 1st lap, so that isnt much challenging at all, tho Forza 3 is great game but in overall it is just like GT series, racing, money grinding, more racing, grinding and LB cars dominating Online racing yea, great :P

i am GT fanboy since day one, i've bought the new GT5, i like it, it suits me, but to be honest i think Forza has already overcome GT, the game looks really great. The only thing that keeps me from buying an Xbos360 (besides the money) its Xbox gamepad, i'm so used to the ps3 gamepad that i think i would never get used to a new pad. sorry me english,im from Portugal.

Seriously thinking of trading in GT5 and getting this again, waited years for GT5 and so dissappointed with how cobbled together it is. Of the 1000 cars ingame 800 are 'standard' models with no cockpit view (the thing i loved the most :/) and are actually models imported form GT4! Seriously not even polished just chucked in along with some tracks! what were they doing for 5 years???!!

@NamelessMonkey I know how you feel. Cockpit really made you feel part of the game inside the car which is what a simulator is supposed to be about!! and because of this I kind of refuse to use standard cars. (which look terrible for 2010 gaming seriously.).
Gt5 has took so long to come out its actually outdated itself. I can even notice some objects on some of the tracks look abit PS2 style.

Even though the improved graphics were great, I was actually overall disappointed in Forza 3. This is supposed to be a sequel, but it just seems that they just repackaged with Forza 2 with some improved graphics. Also, Forza 3's crash damage seems worse than Forza 2's! Also, what's up with all these stupid arcade elements. Rewind features and ALL of these assist? Forza 2 was great and I was hoping for Forza 3 to be great, but it just wasn't that great. Atleast I still got GT5 to look forward to.

@scoot24925 If xbox 360 is so shitty of a console then why does it hold the same and sometimes better FPS (frames per second) then ps3? If you play a game that is on both systems, they play exactly the same, except 360 controllers actually fit adult hands (man hands) unlike the ps3.

@TheAmericanUhate In my opinion, the fat PS3 was just superior to the Xbox 360 in almost every way. Better made, more reliable, more quiet, and more powerful. However, the Xbox 360 is pure gaming console and it's much easier to develop for. I myself had both consoles and they both died on me, but after seeing how GT5 is, I think the Xbox 360 is going to be my first repurchase over the ps3. When you look at 4-5 years development time with this it makes you wonder what Forza 3 could have been.....

@CHRISGT34 Well xbox has fixed the issues with reliability with the slim. Sound from the console has never been an issue cause generally when you are gaming you have the sound on so why worry about what you can't hear lol. Plus, the sound issue was also fixed with the new slims. The only thing that ps3 does have over xbox is the blu-ray. Which blu-ray is kind of a great thing at a bad time, everyone just got there DVD collection good then blu-ray comes, who really wants to switch over lol.

@TheAmericanUhate Yeah the slim does look great, and it was a good move. And microsoft has the 3 year free warranty which is simply amazing. I'm also one of those people that have almost zero DVDs, so blue ray is pretty much a no brainier for me, but still I me being such a car nut, I think that Forza 3 is more enough reason for me to buy a 360. The sound of GT5 just kills the immersion for me.

@CHRISGT34 There is a few things that's just killing GT5 for me, like having 'un-lockable' damage that is mostly only cosmetic/visual. Then the 800 PS2 cars and half the tracks are all PS2 imports as well. Also the paper style crowds & trees. Then driving line that looks like it's from the 90's. Also how it sends a huge rain of sparks when you put a plastic front bumper to a plastic rear bumper that shouldn't even spark in the first place lol. Lack of damage really kills all forms of racing.

@CHRISGT34 As far as forza and if they had spent a little more time on it, yeah I think it would have been a lot better graphics and physics wise. GT5 actually took close to 6 years development where Forza took a little less then 3. We will have a new forza out sometime next year from the rumors, but chances are it might be delayed until 2012 but still, I'm sure we won't see another GT series until sometime in 2016 or later lol. The only thing that keeps me from ps3 is the tiny kids remotes.
