  • Excellent. But remember, 1st US Victory in the Pacific was Battle of Milne Bay, land battle in New Guinea with US Army artillery and ANZAC forces fighting Japanese amphibious force in mid 1942.

In WW1, US 1st ID, 1st full division to arrive and 1st to engage in combat battle of Cagtany in May 1918. In Mexican War, US Army under Gen. Scott, made the first major amphibious landing in Vera Cruz with 14,000 soldiers. LT Pickett, 1st to storm walls of Montezuma.

  • As a 10 year 3rd generation Army veteran I want to say that this was an awesome presentation of a truth that I have tried to convey to many without success. The outdated model of the Marines is coming to light in congress which is starting to understand the "High cost, Small return" of the marine branch as a whole. The NAVY would benefit directly from the budget share that the marines are presently awarded. marines attend Army schools more than they want to admit to anyone. Thanks! HOOAH!

  • all of this is true sadly.............

  • THE TRUTH FUCKIN HURTS!

  • I hate to say this, but this video is right, I love Army history and I have study all this events, they all right on point, the US ARMY is the first on the fight, NAVY SEALS GOT A brake on the Osama mission., thanks to them our ARMY SPECIAL FORCES spend a little more time with their families, CUDOS TO THE SEALS.

  • 1) Combat violence is not a contest, it's random

    2) A pretty uniform doesn't make you tough, neither does history

    3) Somehow the rivalry between the US Army & USMC seems to make BOTH better

    4) All servicemembers deserve our respect & honor

  • I love the Marines. They have fought and died for our country just like the Army. However, I love the Army a hell of a lot more! I have never been a huge fan of the Marines. Everybody just sucks in the Marine Propaganda. They think the Army is a fuckin' joke. It's not! What pisses me off is that people just hype up the Marines soooo much. They are not that great. Just because they have a 12 week basic training compared to 9 weeks doesn't mean it is better. Fuck Marine lies. Army all the way!

  • I'm in high school and I'm surrounded by un informed people everyday who want to join the Marine Corps. Every one of them has no respect for the other branches, especially the army! Fucken disgraceful. When I told them i wanted to join the army they said " a monkey could join the army" and "marines make the army look like babies". Oh yeah? Say it to a veteran then. Now I'm seeing these bozos claim Marine Raiders were the first SOF, and Marines are better skilled than Rangers! INSANE!

  • THE MARINES ARE THE BIGGEST BULL SHITTERS ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH. IF YOU JOIN THE INFANTRY FOR EXAMPLE ALL OF THE EQUIPMENT YOURE GOING TO GET IS SHIT EX THE LATRINES CORP STILL USES THE PASGT HELMET WHICH WAS DEEMED OBSOLETE AND IS NOW USED BY 3RD WORLD MILITARIES! THE ARMY GET THE ACH WHICH IS MUCH BETTER FUCK THE MARINES WE REALLY NEED TO PUT THE HURT ON THESE COCKSUCKERS

  • Marines Lead The gay and Rangers Lead The Way

  • @ discofishing We don't need STUPID people driving wheeled trucks into kill zones and foot-slogging through the low ground who are "hard" as they get blown to bits and shot to pieces. The USMC is obsolete and incompetent cannon fodder for the corporations. Needs to be disbanded.

  • I enjoy hearing how the USMC says they were the first to fight in Afghanistan and Iraq. US Army Special Forces, Delta Force, Rangers, Navy SEALs have pretty much been the first to fight in the last couple of decades if you ask me. The Marines haven't even been members of SOCOM until 2005. That tells you something right there. MARSOCs still has to be paired with Army ODAs on its missions. As an Army guy, I still think we need the Marines. The Army is getting TOO soft, sensitive and poltical.

  • Very informative. Thanks for all the time that was put into this. Many of the folk from my old high school went into the Corp. While some have come out without, at least noticably, the typical egotistical worldview, others are embarrisingly the stereotype; it's just annoying when compared to the basic & comprehensive history like that was presented in this video. As for the Corp as whole in general, I won't deny that I rather have argumentative facts than some emotionally based, demeaning BS.

  • well as a Marine I guess I can see where you are coming from as far as the pagentry, but as someone who went from 21 some odd years enlisted in the Marines to Physician's assistant in the Army, now a Captain in the Army. I hated the pagentry of the Marine corps and the do more with less attitude is tough especially once you have dealt with it for a while. But bureaucracy is definitly way worse in the army. I deal with soldiers all day long and frankly I hate the lack of discipline that...

  • @navyocs You mean you want lemmings to cower before you. The American way and our strength is to not be Nazi fascists but to get the voluntary and thinking co-operation of our people so ALL OF THE FACTS are considered and the BEST ideas put into action. Suggest you start employing some persuasive leadership and get your men believing in the mission and your leadership personally instead of demanding tyranthood.

  • @dynmicpara Since when did navyocs mention anything of tyranny? Just asking.

  • @hypobelow He is a cheerleader for the status quo; our bureaucracy is a tyranny--not a profession.

  • @dynmicpara Ouch. Good and intelligent response. I was in the USMC for 4 years as an infantryman. I knew something was wrong but had a hard time defining it. Call me a traitor to the USMC, but I must have been a soldier at heart. LOL.

  • I served as the head Arabic IT for the 3rd Light Armored Recon Rgmt in the 2003 invasion of Iraq. As a Army officer serving in a Marine unit, I will not dissparage the individual Marine, who is a hard charging, tough soldier. What I saw was no different than the Army, no way better. I also saw elitism that blinded the leaders, poor tactical prep/ops,no maint. at all, little use of comms or other combat multipliers. Worse, Officers unwilling to go forward while their Marines fought & died.

  • @Papi1960R My same observations having been both a junior enlisted and later as both a NCO and officer in BOTH the Army and Mc---however, marine bureaucrats don't come from a vacuum---they were once privates or officer candidates fed the typical USMC BS; believed it, and proceeded to lead the organization even further astray. They have really painted themselves into an obsolete force structure vis-a-vis PGMs and it's all their fault. Gen Geiger (air wing ignore him) warned them right after WW2.

  • Well as a Marine I guess I can say I agree that the pageantry of the MC gets a little old along with the do more with less attitude which then turns into fiscal policy. I served with the Army two times as an ANGLICO marine in Afghanistan, Fighting itself was no different, the discipline was lax as hell and if the platoon lost a soldier, they seemed to curl into a ball and become ineffective. I do like the Army tho, met some great individuals who fought well and kept a level head, Semper Fi

  • @navyocs Thanks for a view from the MC side of the fence. I'm retired now, but our job as leaders and operators is to train our troops. I've observed marine&army units that acted like a snake with the head cut off when faced with adversity. I've seen the unit next to them not miss a beat in the same situation. I retired a O-5, but started as a E-1. As a Army SSG Instrtr at Marine SOI, I felt pretty sharp, but hoped I was almost as good as my NCO mentors had been. NCOs make it happen or not.

  • @Papi1960R Violently disagree, NCOs are not going to make ANYTHING happen if they are blue-collar tyrant idiot-assholes as common in the USMC. Cracking the whip to do stupid just gets folks killed. Our job as leaders is to create winning situations and have winning force structure--not depend on ad hocery to piece something together. No amount of FIDO is going to make an AN/PRC-77 FM radio talk to a satellite to get comms; the time to do something is NOW--not when you're surrounded in Khafji.

  • @navyocs There are plenty of examples of USMC units curling up into the fetal position when overmatched by the enemy look here on YOUTUBE to see the marines crying under mere enemy mortar fire.

  • Airborne All The Way!

  • I have a feeling these folks don't like the USMC.

  • @usmc212 With good reason.

  • I've just read from the USCG's history of the USCGC Modoc that she ended up in the middle of an ongoing battle between Bismarck and the RN after rescuing some convoy survivors. Nothing about locating Bismarck. I could be wrong though.

  • @DanVielwerth You are wrong. Read Stephenson's A Man Called Intrepid--the Modoc spotted the Bismarck. It was kept hush-hush since we were not in declared war yet with Nazi Germany.

  • @dynmicpara Correction: Stevenson & Stephenson's book.

  • Rangers Lead the Way!

  • Nice

  • Finally someone has made my day! thanks
