I came here indirectly looking for a sense of what the Black Tom explosion of July 30, 1916, looked like. That was an act of sabotage by the Germans, who were blowing shit up because they didn't want the WWI Allies to get munitions. It started with a bunch of small fires, and then came a blast so large that it was the equivalent of a 5.5 earthquake. The skies are said to have turned orange, the explosions lasted all night, and debris was hurled at least a mile. Windows shattered 25 mi away.
@Rickyrab Among the structures that got gored that night (the Black Tom explosion was around 2 in the morning) were Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. Unfortunately, the photos I've seen of the aftermath were vague and sketchy, and apparently nobody back in 1916 bothered to snap anything of the explosion itself. I guess Fob Falcon of ninety years later will have to do. lol.
I am a PA and was there that night. There were only 2 people who got hurt. One had a sandbag fall on his chest while he was sleeping and an Iraqi cut his face because he ran into something. No freeking cover up, no hundreds of casualties, all of this conspiracy talk is a bunch of crap. If you read something on the web that suggests otherwise, it's just someone trying to stir up something.
@EnjoiYourLoss It was an Indian (TCN) that hurt himself running into a concrete bunker. I felt really bad for those guys, the fire destroyed their whole living area, those guys lost all of their belongings, but went right back to cleaning the fob a week later.
We were patroling market when this happened and couldnt re-enter the fob cuz it was shut down so we went to the doghouse on redwingz and ended up @ prosperity after that...good times! The list of casualties had my friend on it, but in reality, there was none, which is a total leg puller from the 300 reported in the news...
Somekind of coverup about casualties and damage are more than probable but 300+ casualties i have hard to believe. One thing for sure is that the US military lies through it's teeth all the time.
The date on this is wrong. It was 6 Oct 2006, I was there. I was a Medic in HHT 1-10 Cav, 4ID. We were relieved by mid November, and the DFAC and PX had already opened back up.
i was there with charlie company 2/6 infantry 1st AD , we were watching that sht from the roof of our barracks an then uxo started landing everywhere so we had to go back in , we had guys that had to stay out in sector because they were not allowed back on base, it was so funny because after it happened they said that loads of people died, the only real damage that i saw was the trailers and the chow hall was a bit messed up, uniform 3 hooah!
I was there while this was happening. I was with 1/10 CAV, 4th ID. I was working in the TOC when we took the hit. One of those large explosions blew half the windows out of our building. It was not fun.
I remember that night... I was at Rustamiyah down the road... We watched the explosions from the video feed inside our TOC. Still amazes me that nobody got hurt... I still laugh when I think about the enemy saying that they killed hundreds of us. lol. 1-26 IN, 1 ID. Blue Spaders!
i was there too....i was part of n704th support bat. i worked in the dfac the lil mixed girl.....i was the only mixed girl workin in the dfac.....but yea that shyt was crazy as nFUCKKKKK......i was like aww shyt them towel heads aint joking
What a wild night. It was a miracle that noone got injured. The PX roof got messed up, as did some of the barracks closer to the AHA. The poor Indian worker trailers were destroyed. Felt bad for them!!! Arty. round landed on the roof of my barracks building, watched part of this show from the barracks rooftop until the big arty. began blowing, 1SG made us get into bldg. Then small arms ammo baked off half the night. WILD! Salute to my brothers that were there. BLACKJACK!
this reminds me of when i was a kid... in the in my home town in the middle of summer right around 4th of july an explosives factory caught fire and blew up...it was burning and exploding for days...people called the local police to ask who had the all-nite fireworks...show...
I was there to with B. Co 704th. just getting ready to go home....that shit was crazy! my video is like 3 hours long. i got to do some editing and put it up. i was real real close!
i think ima go back as a contractor i got 5 days left in the army!!!
I will post my vid soon but its very long and idk if i can load that much. This all happened by Iraqi insurgens fireing mortar rounds at our base and one just happened to land in our ammo supply area and started a chain reaction blowing up mortar rounds, m-4 rounds to apache rockets, but we got through it.
Dude where did you take this video from. I was in the HHC 2-6 barracks, and all those contractors ran into our building in the pajamas and shit. That was one helluva night. My second and last concussion came from that night
I have been back from there for a year now and i was there for that explosion. Im sorry man but that area is so fucked up.......you better stay on your toes.
I remember that shit, I was like 2 miles away. I didn't even realize that it was close until someone said that they were watching it on FOX news and said it was at Falcon. Fucking FOX news told me I was safe, thanks FOX
was part of construction that came in from liberty for a bit after that..... remember sending some clothes out the next day to help out..... glad al you guys were all right!!!
I was home on R&R while this took place. Came back three days after this. I was among three other members of the fire department who's trailers did not burn up. All the other guys lost every thing.
This video was shot from outside the FOB. That was one crazy ass nite and it was a miracle no one got killed that nite. All I know is that our building got rocked all nite long. I got some good footage of it too
Actually you're on crack joo. It was confirmed by many informants that work with the US forces, who snuck out this information, and was confirmed by non-Arab/Muslim sources. Sch as Allen L Roland and others. Your the one who needs to cope with reality, you family fucking redneck.
Jinx0r, "many informants that "...what a load of shit...for one, it was night time and all the locals are kicked off post at night The only ones left are closely guarded...and no, no-one was killed. Whats next, moon landing never happened?
Or bush never lied about Iraq, didn't steal elections, US doesn't use banned munitions like DU...Where do the lies start, that's the question. Either you are a total naive, or in denial or a liar. Might be stupid though. No-one was killed, yeah, and the US ISN'T going to have a recession and the greenback lose all value VERY soon. Wake-up call coming to a theater near you!
You know all of those pictures that people put online of the deformed Iraqi babies, blaming it on the DU rounds from desert storm? Yeah, that's complete bullshit. Those babies are deformed because of Saddam's use of NBC weapons...
Why do you people think every American is from Texas? Guess what dipshit, you think Americans don't know about other countries, well it seems like most other countries don't know about us, they just generalize. So how about you fucking learn something before you start saying shit.
Fake! i was there. i was part of the fire dept on base and i lost everything i had there and you want to tell me this is fake. trust me it was very real and i am very thankful to make it out alive. Aman
