Guys i really appreciate the comments you give on my video's but please don't say anything negative in it. About thumbs down or something like that. Let's keep it Peacefully. Negative comments will be deleted.
I typed in Norm Macdonald women drivers and I found this video?!? Good video though, those men were real heroes, and Spielberg and Hanks did a good job of bringing their stories across in that show
They was the good goyim and we germans was the baaad goyim in this time ! This brave goys have give us a really good kick in the teeth and now only waf waf waf come out of the german mouth !!
Small mistake on Norman Dike's pic. That's Smokey Smith, VC (Victoria Cross). Served with the Seaforth Highlanders. Recieved his VC for bravery in Italy.
Very sad, the only survivors now are malarkey, tipper, christensten, o'keefe, and a few others. I've read band if brothers 2 times and seen the miniseries 9 times
This was great. The match of actor to role was very well done... but if you look at the this again... You can see the real soldiers look so much more physically fit for the most part... than the actor playing their part. The soldiers have the faces of young athletes... toned... the actor... look like... well like actors... softer... thinner.
IMDB ranks movies... Their top movie is probably The Godfather with a 9.2. Band of Brothers is also ranked... it gets a 9.6. I agree!!!!
Exceptional video. Thank you for your efforts in compiling; the casting director of this project did an outstanding job at matching physical characteristics of actual soldiers to the actors.
The photo of Norman Dyke is actually "Smokey" Smith, Canadian Victoria Cross medal Recipient. Note the Argylle Glengarry with dicing and the Argylle cap badge.
"I cherish the memories of a question my Grandson asked me the other day when he said: 'Grandpa... were you a hero in the War?' Grandpa said: 'No, but I served in a company of heroes...' Maj. Richard Winters, Easy Company, 506PIR, 101st AB,

@Distancian: Yes, of course, you're right. Thank you for the videos, all of them. I have read enough military history, including "Forgotten Soldier" by Guy Sajer, to know there were brave, true, selfless men and warriors on all fronts. Thanks again... ~S~
Brilliantly done! Thank you for assembling and posting this. The bravery of these men is something that most of us cannot comprehend. In my mind, without a doubt, the greatest generation ever. The world owes a debt of gratitude to these men and all who have served and fought ....in fact, freedom and our very way of life is due to them. Maj Winters past away recently. My utmost admiration to you sir. Kudos also to Hanks and Spielberg for creating the series and doing it correctly.

@Bitemis It depends. John Basilone won the Medal Of Honor, went back home, but decided he wasn't ready to stop fighting, so he had himself transferred back to combat duty. He was sent to Iwo Jima, where he later died from wounds sustained in combat.
on january 2nd 2011 Major Richard ( Dick) Winters died.
a great man who lead by example an inspiration for officers and men.
its a shame God needed him in heaven already, but i'm shore he's with the rest of E company and all the others of the 506th who where already there before him.
rest in peace Sir.
thank you and all the other American soldiers who came to my county Holland)and liberate us from the germans.
Unbelievably eerie, as I just finished watching the entire mini-series and this morning read of Dick Winters passing. To those of Company E, 506 PIR; I bow my head.
My husband and I just got done 3 days ago watching BoB series as well and were actually going to plan a trip to go meet Mr. Winters. We were going to use our 1 year anniversary money to do so. God has a plan for everything :)
As a British chap who has watched Band of brothers, whose grandfathers were veterans of WW2, this is a lovely tribute you have made. I have visited Normandy twice, once on the 60th aniversary and once on the 65th aniversary, i have met many veterans of all nationalities. I found it a very humbling experience. On both occaisions i took my 1944 WW2 Leyland Hippo GS truck, which is a British army 10 ton vehicle that actually landed on Gold beach on D-Day+2.
Yes, Hoobler did die from the accidental discharge of the gun he had in his pocket. The bullet severed the main artery in his leg and he bled to death.
This film has been so amazing . My thanks to all that served . Thank you for all that were responsible on making it so accurate as you can with stories from that of the past. It is just what this country needed. Something that can be seen over and over again for future children to learn from. What it really cost this country to keep its freedom strong. Also to open other peoples eyes what it takes. I can't say thank you enough...
This is a very moving tribute. Thank you for putting this together. I could only wish that there were enough time, and film of ALL of the soldiers that made our lives just a bit easier.
Thanks for your photographs that make the link between the men of Easy and the actors that played them. I went to Upottery ( more accurately Smeatharpe ) airfield to see where most of Easy left England for the drop into Normandy. It's still there and is used for a variety of events. Quite moving to see the small memorial crosses the men that the village still maintains.
Check out Brotherhood of Leet at my youtube channel - a re-imagining of WW2 dramas like Band of Brothers as if they were set during the 8 bit wars of the 1980s where Nintendo and Sega are waring nations.
These men of glory who lived past yesterday will live on in our hearts. For the price of freedom wouldn't be without them. May God Always be with them and also to Shifty Powers, R.I.P.
first industrialized country in the world.. the windmills, first stock exchange in the world. 1700.. Holland was what US is today. Only country that could trade with Japan for 300years.. no other country could. VOC.. EU initiative is also from Holland. Holland kicked out spain first in the 80years of war.
Thank you for doing this. It's awesome. If you're going to update it, I humbly suggest a way to make it even better. You could include a picture of the "present day" (or 2001) members of E Company along with the old pics and the actors. My wife and I just watched B.O.B. for the first time and are having a heck of a time matching the actual they interviewed guys with who played them. In other words, when you can, go from old photo to actor to present day "old guy".
Thats a good idea. I watched Band of brothers 13 times in the past year. also watch my other videos. Next time when i have some spare time i will make one. Make sure to subscribe so you wont miss it ;)
@GoofmanCA hey if you want to see some of the vets buy the box set on hbo.com they have a specia disk which has some of the vets telling about some experiences that wernt told in series
@killor2234 My wife and her sister hosted the HBO group sent by Tom Hanks to interview Popeye. Unfortunately, I had to work. The interview with Popeye is true to form for his life and mannerisms. He was truly a friend with me, as well as being my father in law.
@Thomhonor It must be awesome on a holiday and stuff because its different from home. thats also why we think america is the land of dreams. But you gotta know Holland is really boring to life ! I want to move to Australia of America. I like LA Florida, Melbourne or Brisbane. Those are the things i see my future life.
Great stuff. A very impressive and well made program, and this is a well made photo collection to go with it. Big fan. Thanks.

@killor2234 My wife and her sister hosted the HBO group sent by Tom Hanks to interview Popeye. Unfortunately, I had to work. The interview with Popeye is true to form for his life and mannerisms. He was truly a friend with me, as well as being my father in law.

Holland is not boring! Yes, our land is not as the GREAT USA. But it's a good country!
