I love this game and it's original one. I love all the Star Oceans. I love this song. And I love this video. Great job. I just beat the Second Evolution one a few minutes ago. Like the original, I couldn't help but cry. But, I don't understand. How can people make Claude be with someone else other than Rena? It's oblivious that they should be together and it makes the most sense.

Well on the names of the TWM, origianlly they had the angel names, they changed them in SOTSS, because they thought the inclusion of the names like Gabriel, and Lucifer, would hurt sales. -- although the relationship between those two make a lot more sense with the original rather than Indalico and Cyril.

and as for endings with me i got the claude and precis ending where claude lives in linga with precis i wanted to get the one where precis lives on earth but it was hard lol i had to use the items to max there affocinate points but cuz of that i made claude with chisato instead

Well, I got two ending: One where Claude and Rena are on a ship exploring the space... and then I made Claude or Rena (don't remember) read a book, and I ended with Claude and Rena on earth... and she was pregnant xD

personally, I like Claude's personality out of the other main characters, Fayt is a close second if it werent for him looking, speaking, like a girl, and also that part where he flipped out when his powers manifested.

Needless to say SO is damn near the best RPG avaliable.

To get Opera, you MUST NOT have Ashton in your group. You'll need to trigger an event through Private Action in Cross & going here & there etc, etc just to get her to join your party. But she's really worthed to get, imo.

About the Krosse/Cross part, I think that some (or maybe most) of the names of towns/killer moves/items/etc have change in the psp version. I only played the original ps version (Star Ocean : The Second Story) but not the psp Star Ocean- Second Evolution.

I don't think there's much difference but in PS version, to get Opera:

-do a Private Action in Cross & head towards the castle. You'll meet a three-eyed man (Ernest) on the way. It's better to do this earlier

If you still wanted to know on 'how to get Opera', you can read the post below (which I'm sure that you had read them already)

Anyway, your reasons had clear things out. I thought that you had Ernest in your group (which is impossible w/o Opera) So you're saying that he's suck based on your not liking his character / weapon, not based on using him in the game. Ok, roger that. :)

I have not done an Opera playthrough yet on the remake so I can't say how Ernest plays on the PSP. He is by far the worst character to bring in battle in the original version simply because he skills are weak sauce. I'm still annoyed that the English translation made Rena 18 when nothing else EVER abobut the series says she is. Even the Japanese version of the remake maintains her age at 17.

-After the Tournament of Arms in Lacour, go to the bar in Hilton. You'll meet Opera & an event will follow up

-Go back to Cross, see the king & ask him about a three-eyed woman

-Go to Mountain Palace, which is on top of the hill (between Cross and the Port of Click), explore the place until you find Opera. Let her join when she ask.

Anyway, I think I left the place & didn't bother to continue to venture further inside Mountain Palace to PREVENT Ernest from joining my group :P

The best thing about Ernest is that he has the Battle Suit (armor rating of 500 and a guts rating of 50, one of the best armor you can get early in the game) which can be stolen from him in Mars Village & the Library in Linga. I hardly use him in battle because he's kind of slow (that's the main reason I don't want him to join)

I'm gonna still call it Cross since that is how it was in the original...just like Rena was still 17 in the original (and in my art books..and in the Japanese version of the remake....) Ehh we can pick and choose. And since that is just a spelling choice it doesn't matter so much as say Gabriel vs. Indalecio.

Not sure if it matters 6 MONTHS LATER, but the changed names in Second Evolution are the originals used in the Japanese version of the original game. And I agree, the original names for the english PS1 version sounded much more evil yeah.

Ugh, I so want to get this song, but in cd version of it. (The cd ripped sounds much better than this one, but nice combining the videos of star ocean). Hear the news? First Departure will be released in Oct 21,2008 while Second Evolution is scheduled for a North America release early next year! January 6 to be exact. SO1 would make a great early christmas present while SO2 would make a great new year present^^

This song is just as comparably good as Zeta Toki wo Koete, the first opening theme song of Z Gundam. I like Star Ocean, and of course Gundam, be it UC (MSG 0079, Zeta), FC (G Gundam) AC (Wing), Cosmic Era (SEED), Anno Domini (00), etc.

The Star Ocean universe is more like the mainstream UC Gundam series, though there are some elements from other timelines (e.g. SO3 and Gundam SEED).

Uh...what are you talking about? SO3 does not take place in a different time line then the rest of the series....Yes you are right about GUndam seed and UC, but NOT SO3...SO3(Till the end of time) takes place several Centuries after SO:The Second Story, But they are still in the same timeline...
