@hmax2002 Uh, dude, first of all, it is either geez or geeze, geese are a bird. Second, Russians use a different alphabet and translations out of it vary (Tourischeva, Turischeva, Elena, Yelen, Ilena Davydova, Maria or Mariyue Filatova, Natlia Yurchenko or Iorchenko, etc). That video was sent to me and titled by an ACTUAL RUSSIAN. I think they'd know, and I usually see it, when translated by an actual Russian, with a "Y" not an "I."
Can anyone answer how hard is the cross Azaryan does at the beginning compared to the standard iron and whether it needs special conditioning of a certain bodypart?
That Olympic Cross sequence is cool. I used to begin my rings routine with the Azaryan roll to L-cross, then pull-out. It's a tough move and I used to have to go through it much quicker than he does, or sometimes I'd fall through while passing through the Maltese position. great stuff
Awesomeness. You could see he was the King of the Rings. I had seen photographs of the great Azaryan in books but this is the first time I've seen him in action-thank you for posting this! His Azaryan Cross is probably my favorite move in men's rings.
Get it right. Azarian not Azaryan! Geese. A-z-a-r-i-a-n!

Back in '98 or so I competed the Azarian roll on Rings, and I couldn't come close to the amplitude and control with which Albert Azarian did his.

Look how those kids mob him! What an amazing treat it must have been to be so close to a legend at his prime. :)
