Maybe they know that we have a right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, but the quality and length of that life is entirely the responsibility of the individual. And just possibly they know that government HC will drive cost up much like it has with our public education system. The government can't make the Post Office competitive or cost effective.

The majority of the jobs in the job market are from the private sector. In my honest opinion, jobs went out the door back when Clinton signed the NAFTA agreement allowing all of our companies to go out of this country and employ workers in other countries with minimal pay. We can't blame Obama or Bush for that one.

The Constitution lists the powers given to the State government and Federal government and states that the powers not mentioned will automatically go the State.
Since is not mentioned, thus it is a State power. Because so, the Obama adiministartion has legal power to concern himself with such a thing as healthcare.

@CalmJustin - realize that redistributing Wealth is not good, even for the poor. What incentive do they have to do anything if the governenment is providing everything for them? nothing. The middle class will be destroyed by this healthcare law. also, its another step toward what obama has even quoted been saying he wants "single payer healthcare". look at systems like England's and Canada's, then tell me that having a system like theirs would be a good idea. Its a step towards socialism.

Conservatives believe people have the right to be treated, like they were before. @Willisawesom123 Perhaps it's because they understand that healthcare is a service and not a right. Maybe they know that we have a right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, but the quality and length of that life is entirely the responsibility of the individual. And just possibly they know that government HC will drive cost up much like it has with our public education system. The government can't make the Post Office competitive or cost effective.

@dth62 Firstly, I do not think Obama is a communist. I think that he has taken the first steps any country takes when transforming from a democracy to communism. I do, however, think that he is a socialist. Socialism is when the state/government owns the industries or at least takes away its money. That's what Obama wants to do with his 50% income tax on anyone making over $100 000 annually.

But u must realise, Socialism and Communism are two major different things. Socialism does not want to own the whole industries. In sweden for example, the state owns the alcholic shops, and the most of the hospitals. That gives great benefits. Im not very sure of Obamas tax thingys.

@dth62 cont'd I'm not rich and I have nothing against helping out those in need. But think about it. Our country's $15T is created by the private industry. The majority of the jobs in the job market are from the private sector. If you were to take away their money, whose to say they won't move their business elsewhere, especially when there are Chinese workers who work for 25 cents an hour?
Also, in a country like the US, it's impossible to not get a good job...

I agree with you that public education sucks, but that's because of the Union which gives protection to bad teachers. Again, a Liberal idea.
I'm against socialism because it takes away incentive to work. When the government is taking away your money and giving it to other people, who would want to work? The more you make, the more they take...
