To make a good caipirinha it's necessary that the cachaça is crystalin, the gold ones are better to drink in a cowboy style.
This cachaças your are using, velho and pitu are not the most recomended ones. Here in brasil, in every where u can find a cachaça, from lots of different names, but the better ones, is that are not famous because their are considerated most pure, without chimical conponents. It is always good to taste different things.

Sagatiba and Ypioca, you may find outside Brazil. Here you can buy Rochinha, 51 and other finest brands.
But if you want real Cachaça, you can look for small brands from Minas Gerais small cities also. I don't remember a name but it's easy to find and you can taste most of them first.

I use Fazenda Mae De Ouro Cachaca!! Excellent stuff...
And he used way to much lime and not enough Cachaca!!:)

you can change the cachaca for vodka, it tastes much better. We call Caipiroska.
note: Rum is not the same drink that cachaca !

I'm using Velho Barreiro right now.
I don't know if u can't find it outside of Brazil but it's like the most popular here together with Pirassununga 51 (which is way better).
And I do exactly how he does in the video.

Ijust started using Pitu and I like it. Although when I can find it, I do use the Velho. When I lived in Argentina it's all everyone used.

Parabens, é o unico do youtube que tirou a parte branca do limao que da um gosto amargo ao drink.
O alcool (cachaça, vodka, rum) deve ser adicionado em cima do gelo para ir gelando o drink. Esta certo.

Errou duas vezes. Primeiro em colocar o gelo antes do alcóol, e depois em colocar a mão no gelo, mesmo que com a tampa da coqueteleira.
