As much as I loathe Newt I feel some people do not understand his true motivations when he mentioned a moon base. There is a mineral called Helium 3 that is all over the Moon. So that is very expensive unless they had water with them (water is heavy so that is out of the question.) What we need is to have a steam powered rocket (Michio Kaku talked about this) powered via microwave beams and steam is created as a result.

He's also one who doesn't believe in the right of a woman to choose (how is that libertarian in any way?) and he's a bigot, just like the rest of the republican field. You don't ignore 2 decades of racist ramblings. His only positive stance is on the drug war, the wars in the middle east.
