these things aren't the way I'd go. a barb could get stuck in a thick leather belt, or in several cases (here on youtube) one of the barbs could miss or hit to close together, So unless all your attackers come at you slowly with no shirt on...I'd go with a glock 27

what people dont seem to grasp is the science behind a taser, you only feel a tiny bit (.2%) of the voltage the rest gose right into your nervous system and essentially shuts you down (like hiting the kill swich in a car) there is no "depending on the size and stamina of the person" it effects everyone the same way (the only difference is do they feel it or not) if you see a vid of someone yelling stop after geting shot its not because it hurts it because they cant move and they are freaking out

But actually this is simply where the electrical pulses of our nervous system are being inundated by external electrical pulses. It doesn't matter how much will, strength, or muscles one has. My taser c2 will be in the mail next week. I have a CCW, so I still plan on carrying my Glock with it. The taser gives you a few more options than using a gun does. Say that someone unarmed attacks you, you could go to jailor be civilly liable for shooting them with a gun. If you tase them, it looks better in court. But if I have more than one bag guy on me, I'm drawing the Glock before the taser.

If you miss or need to fight off another attacker, the technique is called "Drive Stun". You can still touch the tip of the taser to a bad guy even after you shot out the probes. Its not a distance defense but its better than nothing. I have been tazed both ways and both will make you rethink what you had planned! People need to understand that RUNNING AWAY is the very next thing you do when you taze a bad guy whether they are 100% incapacitated or not.
