We'll see space missions with more vision and purpose than in the past. Private funding is really where things start to get interesting. I think we'll be on Mars sooner than people think.

@ajperry1995 There is always that possibility, and it is probably, if not certainly, out there. However, I can say with confidence that if there were plants on Mars as large as trees and cati, we would have found them. Even if plants did exist in an atmosphericless environment, they would have to adapt to rapidly changing temperature(from below 0degree temp. to above 400degrees) and constant bombardment of pure radiation. Freezing, then evaporating in one day puts alot of stress on any lifeform.

@ajperry1995 Water is all good in all, but its hard for plants to use when frozen at the north pole of the planet. The surface has been combed with many different sensors that would indicate life. As of yet, no plants on the planet. There could be fossils of ancient single-celled organisms, but Mars lost its magnetic shield too soon for major, multicellular life forms to form. I could be wrong, how fast can life adapt to an almost atmoshericless planet?
