@thebrightblue: Perhaps the prize went to the doctor, but his discretion in not naming her, or anyone associated with his anti-nuclear proliferation work, kept them from being harassed by the McCarthy committee.

In any event, the real prize, shared by both, was the passage of international treaties inhibiting the testing of nuclear devices - there WE all won.
