  • I'm playing this movement for my colleges concerto competition next year and I have some fierce competition. I hope I can memorize it in time.

  • I know very many good people ends up playing like this, but personally I don't like that much vibrato. It may be cause I grew up with wind bands?

  • Wow really nice tone! Round and dark

  • he has a good sound but i don't hear any difference between the loud and quiet parts.

  • I'm an euphonium player and I'd never listened to this great euphonium concerto, I heard something about it to a teacher because he thought that it seemed Philip Sparke's Euphonium Concerto no. 1 that I'm playing at the moment.

I'd like so much to play it...

  • I do miss the band concerts of my childhood. Just not much going on on the West Coast except for USC and the other big colleges. This was a treat.

  • Brilliant! Makes it sound so easy!

  • Wow. I thought I was getting along okay with the piece until I heard this!!!

  • wow...I get to comment on euphonium music, and not opera!!!! well, when M Dee Stewart gave this piece to me for my senior recital at IU, I was thrilled with it. as for this playing - it's so great to hear the orchestra - but I'm getting no dynamics AT ALL from the very very good Euphonium player. all very Mezzo. except for the last low C!!! lol gonna listen to the other movements now.

  • Wow. Just. Wow. Tone was beyond amazing. Entire piece was incredible to listen to. I need to listen to Groom more often, his tone and style are near pefection.

  • Incredible....

  • hats off to him.. really really really good!! =D just ordered this piece, cant wait to get it!!

  • Does anyone know what model Euphonium Trevor Groom used to record this?

  • besson 968 "the new standard"...I dont beleive it says "the new standard" on the bell in the pictures but that's because it's probably an earlier model probably early 70s

  • THIS is the benchmark for what tone on a euphonium should be..

  • Incredible nice Euphonium playing.... I love this composition.....
