  • peaceful ~`^_^`~

  • Respect.

  • i love this songgg, i loved it ever since i heard Andre Rieu playing it in the concert. ahhh, so peaceful T_T

  • First verse:

In the moon light shadows the ruined castle dims,

once in sunlit splendor it now no longer glows,

lonley are the ancient pines, recalling brighter days

But where is the glory now that light from long ago.

  • Beautiful translations! Do you have the other verses and who is the translator?

  • from where do i know this song?

  • You know as I listen to this I realize this MUST have been Paul McCartney's inspiration for Yesterday. He says he just dreamed it up, but this is quite obviously where he got the melody. Still they are both lovely.

  • that oboe player is amazing.

I wish I could sound like that!!!

    wow =] bravo

  • we have to sing this in men's chorus.

    i love this song.

  • this music is so beautiful!!! the oboe is very expressive...i wish to play that way :)

  • I never understood this song. But it's so powerful that I fell in love with it. Is there any translation of the lyrics in english?

  • Cherry blossoms gracefully bloom o'er the fields that lie,

High up is the castle wall, where have warriors gone?

Where is the moonlight that brightly shone up high,

Shone upon the warriors who drained the glasses dry?

White frost o'er the autumn camps freezing the whole night,

Flocks of wild geese cry and pass just below the moon.

Where is the moonlight that might have shone so bright,

Shone upon the warriors' swords gleaming through the night?

  • Oh, the moon is rising high in the depths of night,

Silent is the ruined site lying on the ground,

Ivies creep o'er the gate in the cold moonlight,

Rustling are the pine trees through the windy night.

To rise and fall is people's fate, the moon shines so bright,

Looking down upon the world lying far below,

How sublime the moonlight o'er the ruined site,

How I love the moon that shines in the depths of night!

  • i truly love this song. hard to find this orchestra version. thanks for sharing. wish i can be there someday to listen in person.

  • Tsuki means "Moon" in Japanese.
